Celebrate Halloween and the Giants with Our Black + Orange Rum Punch
Today is a GIANT day for celebrations. Not only do we have a massive parade for the San Francisco Giants to celebrate their World Series sweep, but it’s also Halloween! Coincidence that the Giants’ colors are orange + black? We think not.
And since our offices happen to be smack dab in the middle of the parade route, what better way to celebrate than with our very own black and orange cocktail? Presenting our Black + Orange Rum Punch!
Ingredients:
– 4 ounces orange juice
– 4 ounces pineapple juice
– 1 tablespoon lime juice
– 2 ounces dark rum (such as Bacardi Gold)
– 2 ounces light rum (such as Bacardi)
– 2 ounces soda water
– 4 ounces blackberries
– 1/2 cup sugar
Supplies:
– Black food coloring
– Toothpicks
As you can see, this drink definitely has a tropical vibe. A welcome change from all the pumpkintini and pumpkin cider madness (though we love those too)!
Mix together orange juice through rum in a large cocktail shaker or liquid measuring cup; shake with ice or refrigerate until chilled.
Place sugar in a small bowl and add food coloring. Mix until uniform in color, adding additional food coloring until desired color is reached.
Run an orange or lime slice around the rim of the glass. Alternatively, dip rims onto a plate filled with water. Coat rims with sugar by dipping in the black sugar mixture.
Place 3 to 4 blackberries in the bottom of each glass and crush. Slowly pour cocktail over blackberries. Garnish with a toothpick topped with a blackberry.
