We DIY’d Rain Boots You’ll Want to Wear Indoors Too
You know the sartorial struggle well: No one wants to wear chunky and clunky rain boots indoors. Then fashion blessed us with the Chelsea rain boot — made by everyone from the beloved Sam Edelman to dozens of Amazon Prime sellers — and suddenly I’m wearing them just as frequently and unnecessarily as I wear athleisure without actually working out :) Today, I’ll show you how to give these rain boots a personal stamp the best way I know how: with embroidery! It’s easier than it looks!
Materials and Tools:
Not pictured but *highly* recommended: Scotchgard Fabric Crafts Protector. A few sprays of this should make your boots much more rain-friendly.
It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3: Trace your pattern with chalk, thread the embroidery through the needle and knot at the end, then get stitching! I went with a rainbow ombre pattern, but you could also stitch flowers, plants, words or shapes.
When you’ve completed your stitching, spray with a generous amount of Scotchgard Fabric Crafts Protector and let it dry. Repeat with the other boot!
Pretty rain boots, happy camper.
It’s the perfect footwear for leaf-crunching too!
