DIY This Festive Cold Shoulders Dress in Less Than 15 Minutes
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for so many reasons, including holiday decor, festive recipes and the annual parties with friends and family, of course! We love the chance to celebrate with our beloved (plus, having the perfect excuse to eat the most delish Christmas cookies), but there’s plenty of room for error here — especially when it comes to fashion. We know it can be hard to strike a good balance between a winter-appropriate outfit and a super dazzling look, so we’re here to help. Because, girls, there’s nothing you can’t create with a bit of creativity and some fabric glue… holiday party dresses included ;)
Materials and Tools:
- dress
- fabric scissors
- fabric glue
- tailor’s chalk
- ruler
- rounded object
Instructions:
1. With your ruler, measure 2 inches inward and 3 inches outward the sewing line.
2. Use a plate or any other rounded object as a template to draw your cutout shape.
3. Cut using your fabric scissors.
4. Turn the dress wrong-side-out and use the fabric glue to create an even edge.
5. Repeat on the other side.
First, measure two inches inward the sewing line and three inches outward. Mark those spots with your tailor’s chalk. Then use a plate (or any other rounded object) as a template to draw an oval shape. At this point, cut out the fabric as shown above. Next, turn the dress wrong-side-out and use the fabric glue to create an even edge. Finally, repeat on the other side, turn the dress right-side-out and you’re done!
Pair the dress with a holiday necklace and a pair of glitzy heels, and you’re good to go!
