How to Make the Trendiest Hair Color Work for Every Skin Tone
Red hair is having a moment. Throughout January we’ve been spotting the ultra vibrant color all over the red carpet, and we’re guessing that’s just the beginning. If there’s one thing the past year of rainbow colored hair has taught us, it’s to never be afraid to go bold in the hair department. While the color does often show up on fair skinned ladies, it can be rocked with any skin tone. If you’re thinking about going red, here’s a guide to help you pick decide which shade might be right for you.
1. Ronze: A red carpet favorite, this is definitely the color of the season. Emma Stone’s shade shows off an auburn hue with subtle copper and bronze highlights to brighten things up. (Photo via Ethan Miller/Getty)
2. Blonde Ronze: While definitely lighter than Emma’s color, there is still a definite element of shine and bronze to Isla Fisher’s long curls. If you want to brighten things up in anticipation of spring’s arrival, this color is a must. (Photo via Kevork Djansezian/Getty)
3. Strawberry Blonde: Slightly more ashy than the other options, try this all-over soft shade of red if you want to fake everyone into thinking you’re a natural redhead just like the always stunning Jessica Chastain. (Photo via Jason Merritt/Getty)

4. Rose Gold: We’re calling rose gold a color to watch in 2015. Falling more on the orange side of the color spectrum, this is a great option if you’re looking for a something more unconventional. 5. Cherry Brown: With strong red and brown notes, consider this Cherry Cola-esque color one step up from auburn. It works with a more golden skin tone but still comes with a noticeable pop. (Photo via Slaven Vlasic/Getty)

6. Red Velvet: Take a cue from your favorite cake and go for this bright, bold shade of red. If you have naturally dark hair but you’ve been wanting to jump on board the ultra-saturated hair color trend, this is a great option that won’t required tons of harsh bleach. 7. Auburn: For those of you with a darker skin tone, try turning your locks a deeper shade of red similar to Cheryl Cole’s mane. This auburn color leans heavily on the brown side, but still offers up a brassy, reddish hue. (Photo via Pascal Le Segretain/Getty)

8. Marsala: Take a hint from Rihanna’s rich locks and rock the color of the year for a red that’s vibrant enough to show, but not quite as wild as Ariana’s shade. (Photo via Jason Merritt/Getty)
9. Ronze Highlights: For a subtle but still noticeable change, keep most of your hair naturally dark and incorporate some ronze accent pieces around the front. (Photo via Slaven Vlasic/Getty)
