These Convertible Clothes Will Maximize Your Wardrobe
Ever since we discovered MORF, a convertible clothing company offering a shirt that can be worn an astounding 24 different ways, we’ve been on the lookout for versatile clothes for busy #girlbosses on the go. While we love rocking a trend, it’s our classic staples that keep us in style wherever we go, from the boardroom to brunch with our besties. It turns out Jia Collection has been producing just that since 2011. Jia Collection pieces have been worn by celebrities like Kerry Washington, but their latest collection isn’t just for the rich and famous.
We chatted with the founder and creative director, Jia Li, about her inspiration for starting a fashion label and what makes Jia Collection so unique. Before launching her eponymous brand, Li graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and and worked for several fashion firms. It was during her time working for others that she noticed two major challenges women face in their daily dressing: being able to travel light, yet stylishly, and maintaining a closet full of clothes you actually want to wear all the time.
“I saw a niche in the market that no one was fulfilling: the needs of the modern day working and traveling woman,” Li told us. Thus, Jia Collection was born.
“Our designs are comfortable enough for everyday use and are made only out of ethically sourced materials. They are also chic enough so that our customers can accessorize them for any event,” Li shared with us. And boy, do her collections deliver. Every piece can be worn at least two ways, with most allowing for four different looks.
While all the designs are beautiful, our favorite piece is the Max scarf/poncho combo that we’re seriously obsessing over. In addition to the three official looks, we spotted blogger Tracy Qiu of T-Curate giving it her own spin.
The pieces range from $95 to $375 for the new collection, which may be pricier than your average outfit, but considering that cost includes so many looks, it’s kind of a steal. Aside from looking elegant and chic, the clothes are easy to manipulate with only a few buttons or a zipper, maximizing their multi-functionality. The next time you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe and don’t want to clutter your closet with dozens of new items, you might just want to check out Jia Collection.
