1 Little Black Dress, 5 Last Minute Halloween Costumes
You guys, Halloween is finally almost here! As you know, we’ve been prepping for a while at Brit HQ, throwing a different party each week for the last five weeks. Phew! We’ve also been giving you endless costume inspiration for everyone from couples to tots. But if you still have failed to plan your getup of spooky streetwear or snag a Brit-approved costume, we’ve got you covered. Well actually, your little black dress has got you covered!
By scraping up key accessories from your closet, makeup case, and local pop-up Halloween store (there’s just about one on every corner right now!), you can transform your trusty LBD into any of these five wow-worthy costumes in time for tomorrow night.
The outfits can literally be assembled in minutes! And while the makeup took us a little longer to apply, we were able to use this basic kit on every single look, so you don’t have to spend a fortune on high-quality makeup (though use what your face likes best!). To make things even easier, we’re starting from the simplest look makeup-wise, then building to the most labor intensive.
Ready for your options? It’s time for one little black dress, five ways!
Little Michele(s) Tanner has grown up and become a fashion-forward A-lister. You could spot an Olsen twin on the streets of New York from a mile away: the blonde mane, that checked-out expression, and layer upon layer of baggy boho attire. No paparazzi shots, please!
Costume:
– little black dress
– fringe vest
– baggy shawl
– oversized sunglasses
– tote bag
– to-go coffee cup
– black ankle boots
Hair + Makeup:
– long blonde textured wig
– clean face with shimmer highlighter on cheekbones and lips
– peach blush (or pink from Halloween makeup kit)
Right after diamonds, an LBD is a girl’s best friend. :) You’ll have to raid your costume closet to get this classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s look, which needs a pair of black elbow-length gloves, a cigarette holder, a tiara, and of course, some jewels. Now put on a fresh face and get ready to strike some glamorous poses!
Costume:
– little black dress
– black elbow gloves
– pearls
– tiara
– cigarette holder
– black flats or heels
Hair + Makeup:
– hair up in a bun with a small twisted pomp and add tiara
– wingtip eyeliner (or black from Halloween makeup kit)
– highlight lid with white shimmer shadow (or white from Halloween makeup kit)
– smooth skin with foundation, add bronzer, and a rose pink blush (or pink from Halloween makeup kit)
– bright red lips (or red from Halloween makeup kit)
That evil eye is unmistakably Ms. Deville’s. A two-toned Tina Turner ‘do, red elbow-length gloves, and fierce eye makeup make this inhuman beast look straight-up fierce. But we all know that this outfit isn’t complete without a stuffed toy Dalmatian in tow. (Disclaimer: No faux puppies were harmed in the making of this costume.)

Velcro Brand Sticky Back Coins! These durable dots stick to nearly any fabric and can be easily peeled off. Genius costume hack, if we do say so ourselves. ;)Costume:
– little black dress
– white short gloves
– mouse ears (buy or DIY)
– white bobby socks
– red heels
– Velcro Brand Sticky Back Coins
Hair + Makeup:
– high pony
– smooth, bronzed face with a pink blush (or pink from Halloween makeup kit)
– winged eyeliner (or black from Halloween makeup kit)
– cartoony fake eyelashes
– draw on nose and whiskers with eyeliner (or black from Halloween makeup kit)
– red lips (or red from Halloween makeup kit)
Go goth with this adorable Wednesday Addams get up. This costume calls for the most layers—black tights, a collared shirt, and a tight cardigan—which will certainly help keep you cozy. Channel your inner troublemaker then start perfecting that straight-faced, vapid stare.
