Start by cutting out our matchbox templates. We hope you like puns, because we’ve got plenty of them in this DIY.
Not to toot our own horn, but how cute are these printables?
Next, fold along the dotted lines. You can use a pen or ruler to make stronger creases. For the base of the matchbox, fold the edges inward to create walls.
Using as little glue as possible, glue each tab. Let dry.
Ta-da! These darling little matchboxes are just waiting to be filled with sweet surprises.
Matchstick Bobby Pins
Instructions
1. Slide the bobby pins onto a piece of card stock.
2. Paint the tips of each bobby pin. Let dry, then paint the tips on the other side. Let dry again. That’s it, you’re done!
Start by sliding your bobby pins onto a piece of card stock. Paint the tips of each bobby pin with nail polish, using multiple coats if necessary. When dry, flip over the card stock and paint the tips on the other side. Let dry again.
Who says matchsticks need to be just red and gold? We made some bubblegum pink matchsticks for kicks, and we love how they turned out.
Put your dry bobbies in your matchbox, and voila. How easy was that DIY?
Bonus tutorial: The criss-cross hair crown! Simply create crosses with each bobby pin, working your way from the front to back of your head.
This hairstyle is way simple and definitely a head-turner. It makes us want to rock other bobby pin ‘dos with these cuties.
