This coming weekend is one of my favorite of the year. It marks the beginning of summer adventures, pool parties and refreshing drinks served in pitchers by the piping hot barbecue.
This year, I am in Europe, but I will for sure fire up my grill and make juicy burgers in spirit. And while I do it, I’ll have one of the following drinks in hand.
1. Watermelon Margarita: Do I need to say more? This recipe from Leah Bergman at Freutcake is everything. (via Freutcake)
2. Pimm’s Cup: Here’s a pimped up version of the classic. It’s got ginger beer and mint and was created by Kimberley Hasselbrink, the author of Vibrant Food. (via The Year in Food)
3. The GBC: This gin, basil and cucumber Cocktail from BS’ in the Kitchen is refreshing and will for sure keep you cool in the sun. (via BS’ in the Kitchen)
4. Rhubarb Collins: A fun and refreshing twist on an old classic, this Rhubarb Collins gets bonus points for using a stalk of rhubarb for a stir stick… and for being so gosh darn pretty. (via Modern Wifestyle)
5. Sangria With Strawberries: Bring Spanish summer nights straight to your backyard. What’s more? This recipe contains no added sugar! (via The Primalist)
6. Aperol Spritz: A three-ingredient drink that brings bitterness, sweetness and a whole lot of fizz to your taste buds — yeah, it’s basically everything you’ve been looking for in a cocktail. (via Baker by Nature)
7. Raspberry Beer Cocktail: This one is perfect for a pitcher and is my personal favorite for the upcoming weekend festivities. (via Pretty Plain Jane)
8. The Classic Mai Thai:Perfect for rum lovers and all tiki-themed parties, this cocktail tastes even better when you add a mini umbrella to it. Truth. (via Honestly Yum)
9. White Sangria: The lighter version of the classic sangria is perfect for those who prefer white wine over red. (via Sugar and Grace)
10. Raspberry Ginger Limeade: This little looker is non-alcoholic and super refreshing on its own. If you’re looking for something a little stiffer, add a good splash of vodka and you are all set for the weekend. (via Modern Wifestyle)
