Nike’s Summer Shoe Collab Is a Floral Dream Come True
As soon as summer rolls around we typically trade our sneakers for flip flops. But this year, Nike is trying to convince you otherwise. Not just with slides and more breathable fabrics, but with a collab that feels like the epitome of summer.
Nike has teamed up with iconic textile company Liberty of London on a collection of six shoes that manage to seamlessly blend Nike’s athletic core with Liberty’s delicate floral prints.
If you’re looking for an “around town” sort of shoe, try the Tennis Classic. If you want to win best dressed at your HIIT class this weekend, try the florified (that’s a word now, ok?) Air Max 1. And if you absolutely refuse to wear sneakers in the summer, try the Benassi Duo Ultra pool slides.
Liberty of London writes, “The exclusive print, Dawn Meadow, features wildflowers such as Wood Anemone, Stitchwort, LondonPride and Cornus Sanguinea, which populate both the country’s fervently freewheeling gardens and bucolic fields. The hand-painted floral landscape, inspired by botanical drawings from the Liberty archive, adorns six classic Nike silhouettes.”
The collection ranges in price from $79 for the slides to $223 for the Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour sneaks. All the shoes are currently available on Liberty of London’s website. Starting June 25, everything will also debut at nike.com and in Nike and Nike Sportswear retailers.
