Your Pup Will Love Our Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Treats
We may be working ourselves in a fever over pumpkin season, but we often forget that dogs love pumpkin too! In fact, pureed pumpkin is full of benefits for good ol’ Buster. It can help with lots of common doggie digestion ailments, so you’re pretty much doing them a favor by making them these delicious pumpkin peanut butter cookies. Simple (it only uses 6 ingredients) and easy to make, these doggie treats were a smash hit with our two favorite wiener dogs, Killer (left) and Mack (right).
Ingredients:
– 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
– 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
– 2 eggs
– 4 tbsp peanut butter
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp salt
Start off by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine all the ingredients together. You can mix by hand or use an electric hand mixer. The dough should be crumbly. Pack the dough into a ball, then use a rolling pin to flatten to about 1/2 an inch thick. If the dough is too dry, add water, bit by bit, just enough to hold together. Don’t add too much water– we only added two drops. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. We love our fun accessory themed cookies cutters, and thought it was appropriate cause dogs love chewing our stuff! Bake in the oven for about 35 minutes, or until it’s lightly browned.
You can see they were pretty excited. Killer could hardly wait. Mack stood patiently until…
ATTACK!
We TOTALLY adore the fun shapes we used for these doggie treats. This time, you probably won’t be mad if Buster chews your tie.
Oh yeeeeeahhhhhhh…. going for the gold.
Please sir, can I have some more?
Nom nom nom.
