This Super Cool Vintage Camper Makeover Is Glamping Goals
Nothing will inspire you to hit the road this summer quite like a stunning camper makeover. This tiny vintage number — affectionately called Millie — recently got a brand new look thanks to the #girlbosses of The White House Co. With a LOT of spray paint (243 cans in total!), a total gut job, and all new appliances, Millie was transformed from a rustic fish house into a gorgeous glamping space. Scroll on to see how the ladies turned the old girl into a hot home-on-wheels!
BEFORE
Amanda Rydell, Samantha Klinkhammer, and Katie Schiltz refer to themselves as “dumpster divers, curbside hunters, DIY’ers, and everyday thrifters,” and they are the team behind The White House Co. + Vintage Rentals where they curate vintage finds at their brick and mortar store in Fargo, North Dakota. Renovating a camper had always been on Amanda’s design bucket list, and as soon as the gals spotted this Shasta camper gem on Craigslist, they saw *major* potential.
AFTER
The first thing to draw them in about this trailer? Those vintage wings on the sides — which were promptly painted gold obvi! The trio then started the project by completely stripping the exterior paint and giving it a new coat of bright white. They bought their town out of spray paint, then knocked out the whole paint job in a couple days.
On the inside, light colors were added to make the space feel fresh and open. They even powder-coated the burners on the stove to jazz up the old kitchen. Oh, and those marble counter tops? They’re nothing more than sheets of adhesive paper!
The interior is rustic-chic with light wooden floors, colorful accessories, and greenery mounted right on the walls. The gang also added a cozy bench where they can grab a nap, hang out with friends, or curl up with a good summer read.
Since a glamping setup isn’t complete without some Pinterest-perfect outdoor decor, they added a fun sign and a portable tree-swing chair. Now they can chill inside but still cuddle up to enjoy the sunset outside… and have a view of that snazzy little camper, of course!
