Photographer Recreates an ’80s Portrait Studio and It’s Awesome
You know those old family pictures that were clearly taken at Sears? The ones with the solid color background and unexplained props? Or your own awkward yearbook photo you wish wasn’t accessible to the public? Yeah, well photographer Robbie Augspurger actually purchased a genuine 1980s school portrait light kit and went to town photographing his friends and family, and the results are genius. Augspurger says, “I thought it would look cool if the images looked like they’d been on the dashboard of my dad’s truck for 20 years, like old, sun-damaged wallet photos that people leave lying around.”
