The American Music Awards are just a few hours away, but the wait for the red carpet is OVER! Though the nominees are largely male this year, there’s enough female power in the form of Lifetime Achievement Award winner Diana Ross, her daughter and show Tracee Ellis Ross, and the show’s many presenters and performers (including the likes of Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga,
P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, and more), that the red carpet was sure to be stacked with style. It certainly didn’t disappoint: Click through to see the most over-the-top, extra looks thus far, and keep checking back as we update our list throughout the evening!
Kathryn Hahn: The A Bad Moms Christmas star brought a much-needed pop of color to the carpet in the form of this strapless orange ensemble. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Demi Lovato: Va va voom! Lovato was pure sultry glam in her Ester Abner dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and Gismondi jewels. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Kat Graham: Graham was anything but boring in a white plunging blouse, a Ronald van der Kemp asymmetrical skirt, a standout Judith Leiber bag, and Casadei shoes. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Jenna Dewan Tatum: The World of Dance judge was dazzling as could be in this sparkly beaded Julien Macdonald piece with a flowing mermaid train. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Julia Michaels: The songstress was *almost* twinning with P!nk, swapping the singer’s iconic pink hue for a bold red one of her own. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Kelly Rowland: The former Destiny’s Child member brought the heat with a black and red getup with sheer sleeves and an Angie-style thigh slit. Hot mama! (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Yara Shahidi: Keeping with the theme of the night, the Blackish star donned sequins on her denim skirt, tall socks with platform sandals, and a neat black top and tan overcoat combo. (Photo via Neilson Barnard)
P!nk: The “What About Us” singer donned her signature color with this tiered tulle Monique Lhuillier cupcake gown with sweet floral appliqué. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Hailee Steinfeld: Steinfeld ditched the girly threads for an edgy, pointed-shoulder jacket, a sliced-up black leather bralette, Mugler trousers, and Bulgari jewels. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Gaten Matarazzo: Move over, Millie Bobby Brown! The Stranger Things star proved his castmate’s not the only one with fashion sense in a floral-printed shirt and a matching purple jacket and pants set. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Sadie Sink: Also giving Brown a run for her sartorial money was Sink, who looked like a red carpet vet in her flapper-style chain-metal Prada sheath dress. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Selena Gomez: The “Wolves” singer looked like a total badass clad in head-to-toe leather with a Coach bodycon, zipped-to-there minidress with plenty of zippers, and a newly shorn, bleached blonde ‘do. Yowza! (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Heidi Klum: The supermodel kept things flirty and fun in her low-cut print Gianni Versace gown with blush-colored Giuseppe Zanotti heels. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Sabrina Carpenter: The Girl Meets World actress stood out from the pack in a plaid Missoni overcoat-like dress and thigh-high tan Casadei boots. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Rachel Platten: The “Fight Song” crooner had one of the boldest looks of the evening in a sparkly beaded jumpsuit with sheer mesh panels at the chest, waist, and legs. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Kelly Clarkson: Show opener Clarkson looked classic and gorge in a fitted black and gold sequined Christian Siriano gown paired with dark vampy lips and uber-straight locks. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Tracee Ellis Ross: The show’s hostess with the mostess went for full-on glam in a sequined purple Stella McCartney bodycon gown with an open back and thigh-cut slit. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Erika Jayne: The Real Housewife took her otherwise demure black carpet ensemble above and beyond with a pair of over-the-knee FUCHSIA boots. Meow! (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Ashlee Simpson: Ashlee Simpson: Simpson, who’s married to Evan Ross, matched her sister-in-law Tracee Ellis with a sleek sequined Christian Siriano rainbow number that took us straight back to the ‘70s, complete with a glitzy gold necklace and matching gold hoops. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
Diana Ross: The evening’s biggest honoree went all out for her big moment on the red carpet, opting for an intricate headdress, an architectural black strapless Christian Siriano frock, and an overlay of tulle. (Photo via Neilson Barnard/Getty)
