People Have Jokes About This 2018 SAG Awards Typo Involving Dame Judi Dench

The 2018 SAG Awards honored the best on-screen performances that this past year had to offer. And while we have no doubt that Judi Dench deserves every acting accolade that comes her way, we’re not sure what she thinks about the fact that she apparently earned a “leading roll” nomination last night. Twitter, on the other hand, is totally loving it!

In case you missed it, the fun started when the 83-year-old actress was announced as a nominee for her role in the biographical dramedy Victoria & Abdul. Though the award ended up going to Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Dench was the one buzzing on Twitter.

When the Philomena star’s name appeared on screen, it was under a headline that read: “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Roll.”

Granted, it’s an easy mistake to make, but when a typo like that is seen by millions of viewers, it’s going to spark a few jokes. Or more than a few.

Plenty of fans decided to ROLL with it!

There’s probably a perfectly reasonable explanation for the minor mistake.

And who can blame ’em?

Or maybe it wasn’t a mistake at all!
