This 4-Layer Donut Cake Is What Birthday Dreams Are Made Of
Listen up, friends, because we’re showing you how to make the dessert of your dreams. While we definitely value our health at Brit + Co, we also know that there’s a time and place for salads and other times and places for delicious desserts. Here are some examples: celebrating a promotion? Dessert. A normal Wednesday? Probably should get some veggies on your plate. A birthday? Desserts on desserts on desserts.
We firmly stand by the mantra, “Birthday calories don’t count.” So for your or your friend’s next birthday, celebrate by making this crazy indulgent donut cake. What makes this donut cake so indulgent, you ask? Well, it’s two bundt cake layers stacked under and in between a layer of donuts. Oh yeah, and the cake has donuts baked INSIDE them! We partnered with Studio Ink (in fact, their adorable Lauren Homcard was the inspiration for this recipe!) to make this fabulous, over-the-top dessert. Because we all know that on your birthday, you should count birthday cards but NOT calories. :)

Alright, let’s do this! Mix batter according to cake mix directions. Break up a couple of donuts and add to the batter. Add batter to bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. If you’re layering your bundt cakes, just double the recipe and bake in two bundt pans.
To make the frosting, melt together the chocolate, butter, and honey and stir until you get a smooth consistency. Mm mm mm!
Let the cake cool. Place one of the bundt cakes on a cake stand. Place donuts all over the cake layer. Add another bundt cake on the donuts. Frost that layer with frosting and add more donuts.
