With next week being Easter weekend, we’ve been busy prepping everything for our annual feast — from curating the perfect Easter tablescape to finding scrumptious appetizer recipes that both adults and kiddos will devour. But now that we’re pretty sure that we have all the essentials ready, we thought we would give ourselves a much deserved break before the hosting insanity hits next week. That’s why we’re treating ourselves with five brand new apps that’ll bring some fun to our smartphones this weekend.

Love it or hate it, Apple’s brand new video editing app is definitely causing quite the stir in the tech world this week. Basically, the app takes out all the complicated tools of video editing and replaces them with fun Instagram-like options to add filters, emoji, and more cool additions to your vids. But the thing that most people find MEGA impressive is how the app gives creators the ability to automatically create live animated titles that match the timing of your voiceover perfectly. Three cheers for inclusivity!
Runtasty
The makers of our favorite Runtastic fitness apps just released a free app of healthy recipes and kitchen hacks and we are FOR IT. With practical ingredients and fairly simple recipes, it just might be the app to help us regain control of our New Year’s fitness resolutions. Plus, we love that they have recipes for all diets and dietary restrictions (including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and low-carb), and all their recipes are available in a video format.

Make your Instagram stand out by adding some sweet typography to your already awesome pics. Not only does this fun app have a ton of different fonts and styles to check out, but it also helps you find the perfect caption when you’re feeling a little tongue tied by pulling random, meaningful quotes from their stash.

From the developer of the mega-popular selfie app Facetune, this app literally transforms your face into your favorite emoji. It works very similarly to a Snapchat filter and uses AI to automatically edit selfies to reflect a given emoji — whether you want to channel your inner heart eyes or morph into an actual crying laughing face.

Let’s be real… sometimes you just need to scream. This ridiculously fun game uses your own voice as the controls.
