50 Days Until Our Book, Homemakers, Hits Shelves!
We’re way beyond crossing our t’s and dotting our i’s in the world of Homemakers, our very first book. From Moleskine notebooks filled with sketches to Pantone notebooks filled with to-do lists to iPhone notes with puns thought of while commuting, this labor of love has been a year in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited to see it come to life.
Over the next 50 days, we’ll be sharing sneak peeks from the book, the process behind the pages and all sorts of fun tidbits that relate to this domestic tome. To kick things off, how’s about a little refresher on what this book is all about? We’ll tell it you straight from the soon-to-be-in-your-hands back cover:
The rules of homemaking have radically changed. Today’s generation is digitally connected 24/7 and often more focused on climbing the career ladder at the office than the stepladder at home.
But the home “maker” evolution has just begun. Thanks to advances in technology, tomorrow’s men and women will find themselves using new gadgets and apps to cook, clean, decorate and even manufacture everything from decor to clothing, from right inside their homes.
In Homemakers, Brit Morin, founder of the wildly popular lifestyle brand, app, and website Brit + Co, reimagines homemaking for the twenty-first century, making it as simple as possible to go from amateur to pro with easy charts, tips, recipes, DIY projects and tech shortcuts. Simple, beautiful, and stylish, it offers the digital generation a wealth of innovative ideas and how-tos for a more creative life.
As we take you through the making of this book, we’ll touch on each chapter in the book. And guess what? Each chapter represents a room in the HOME. Starting with, drumroll please, the Entryway. Whether this is as simple as a front door or as fanciful as a full-on foyer, this is where you set the scene. You bring people into your home (or book) with nostalgia, familiarity and your personal point of view. In this section of the book, Brit will share more about her story and how she sees the world of homemaking changing in the coming years.
