A “Pretty Little Liars” Spinoff Pilot With Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish Is in the Works!
For anyone who was devastated to say goodbye to Pretty Little Liars, we have the best news! While rumors about potential spinoffs have been swirling since before the original series even ended, there’s now official confirmation about a PLL-related pilot from showrunner I. Marlene King and author Sara Shepard.
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists will feature PLL‘s Sasha Pieterse (AKA Alison DiLaurentis) and Janel Parrish (who played Mona Vanderwaal) in their former roles — but in a new town. “I can’t wait to introduce our fans — and Sasha and Janel — to a new world of thrills and chills in Beacon Heights,” King, who is writing and executive producing the pilot with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo, said in a statement, according to Variety.
The PLLInstagram account also gave us a bit of insight into the new drama, captioning a pic of the spinoff’s stars: “Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie, and a needed alibi.” We already have goosebumps!

The spinoff is a take on Shepard’s novel The Perfectionists — but with a twist connecting it to the PLL universe — so you can count on the same kind of spine-chilling plots that PLL did so well. That is, if Freeform orders the pilot to series.
They seem pretty optimistic about the possibility, though, with Karey Burke, the executive vice president of programming and development, telling Variety, “At Freeform, we are committed to delivering shows that push boundaries and become a part of our viewers’ lives. Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon so it’s no wonder fans wanted more.”
She added, “We can’t wait to continue Marlene King’s rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did.”
We’re sure PLL fans feel the same!
