Adele’s Quote About Body Image Will Make Your Day
Besides some new singles we’re obsessed with, Adele is here with a body-positive statement that is about to be the new mantra you can’t get out of your head. With multiple Grammys, an Oscar for her song “Skyfall,” the number one-ranked album on Billboard of all time and a music video that garnered 27.7 million views in just 24 hours, Adele seems to live on an entire other plane of existence from us mere mortals. But even the queen of heartbreak ballads has insecurities — she just has a sound way to deal with them.
“I do have body image problems, for sure, but I don’t let them rule my life at all,” the singer told Jenny Eliscu of Sirius XM. “And there’s bigger issues going on in the world than how might I feel about myself and stuff like that. There’s only one of you, so why would you want to look like anyone else? Why would you want to have the same hair style as everyone else and have the same opinions as everybody else?” Adele makes an incredibly valid point. There is only one of you. Recognize your ish and leave it at the door. Rather than styling yourself or your views after someone else, figure out who you want to be and just go be that.
In Adele’s case, being herself means having a killer coif 24/7 + that iconic cat eye + belting out songs that make people weep big salty tears. Besides, if she was so preoccupied with her own self-doubts, she wouldn’t have the time to release songs like this.
