This Coloful Adidas Collab Makes Us *Want* to Work Out
Gone are the days of working out in a ratty tee and old gym shorts. It’s no secret that workout wear is getting more and more stylish as time goes on. (Have you SEEN these gorg sports bras?!) Fashion designers have even been nodding to a sport-centric theme in their runway collections for the past year or so, giving girls everywhere the green light to wear our gym clothes outside the gym.
Alexander Wang for H+M, Beyonce for Topshop, Givenchy for Nike and Cara Delevingne for DKNY are all sporty-chic collabs that prove our point, not to mention Urban Outfitters’ newly launched Without Walls athletic shop. But Mary Katrantzou’s capsule collection for Adidas knocks it out of the gym.
Based in London, the Greek fashion designer is known for her intense color mixing and kaleidoscopic patterns, unique silhouettes and most of all, her playfully themed prints. This collection of technicolor prints was inspired by track shoes worn by medal winners from the ’70s and ’80s.
While small, the collection features Mary Katrantzou’s signature silhouette: The voluminous mini dress. It also features more gym-appropriate pieces like bomber jackets and pull over sweatshirts.
And, of course, lots of seriously awesome (and COLORFUL!) sneakers.
The collection will be available in stores beginning November 15. And our gym might just start seeing a little more of us to help us show off these new threads.
