VS Angel Alessandra Ambrosio Is Hanging Up Her Wings After 17 Years
It’s the end of an era! Alessandra Ambrosio has revealed that after 17 years of strutting down one of the most coveted runways in the fashion biz, the 2017 Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Shanghai will be her last.
Despite People‘s reports that Ambrosio “didn’t know” if she would be leaving the runway after this year, Entertainment Tonight is exclusively confirming that the 36-year-old will be retiring her wings to spend more time with her five-year-old son, Noah, and nine-year-old daughter, Anja (both of whom flew to Shanghai with her model mama to watch her final strut).
The loss will surely be a blow for the iconic lingerie brand, with Ambrosio coming in just behind Adriana Lima for the longest-running — and most recognizable — angel.
The mother of two confessed that while she expected her last show will be emotional, she’s confident that the Angels will continue to remain a part of her life.
In addition to spending more time with her kids, the Brazilian bombshell also plans to use her extra time to focus on work projects, saying that she looks forward to continuing to build her successful clothing and swimwear empire, Ale by Alessandra.
It’s also safe to say the model-turned-actress, who has recently appeared in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Casino Royale, and Daddy’s Home, is ramping up her acting career: She’s currently starring in Daddy’s Home 2.

According to ET, she planned to close out her show by blowing a kiss to her daughter — who she called her “favorite angel” — from the runway, and, as she told People, chowing down on some delicious grub. “I’m dying to eat everything. Everything.” she told the mag. “Whatever comes to me. And I’m so excited for Thanksgiving next week.”
