Spring 2015 Trends to Try: How to Wear White All Day
Dark and dreary days with temps in the low digits can kind of get you down, so it’s no surprise that when winter rolls around we start reaching for our winter uniform of black and gray. Sure, black is extremely flattering and classic, but we think it’s time to stir up the status quo. And with spring on the horizon, what better way to give our winter wardrobe a much-needed facelift than by embracing some of the upcoming season’s hottest trends?
All-white ensembles were lighting up the Spring 2015 runways, from DKNY to Victoria Beckham and Carolina Herrera (plus so many more!). We love the simple, clean look of this monochromatic style and think it’s the ideal alternative to the all-over black getup. With so many different shades to choose from, your outfit will be anything but boring. Don’t believe us? We’ve styled three all-white outfits (with a few colorful accents thrown in) to take you from the office to your favorite Sunday brunch hang out. Sorry, Tide to Go not included.

At the Office
All white at the office? Yes ma’am. A pleated collared shirt and tailored pants in a trendy culotte cut are simple pieces that will make you feel instantly put together (without a lot of effort). Tack on a few fresh black accents like color block pumps and a leather backpack for a bit of cool contrast and just a hint of the classic hue. An elegant duster jacket ties together the whole look. Now who says dressing for the office has to be boring?
Topshop Striped Wool Blend Duster Jacket ($170), J.Crew Lillet Pleated Crepe Shirt ($100), Aldo Umeiwien Heels ($100), Bel & Skar Half Sun Pearl Earrings ($275), Tory Burch ‘Frances’ Leather Backpack ($550), Miss Selfridge Cream Culotte ($26)
Weekend Lounging
Whitewash your weekend uniform by switching out your go-to threads with laid-back pieces in shades of bright white, cream and ivory. Shredded boyfriend jeans, a textured sweater and classic Stan Smith sneaks create the base of this versatile look and add a relaxed off-duty edge that’s perfect for lounging or hitting up your favorite cafe with friends. To make things cozy and keep the biting wind at bay, throw on an oversized coat and big ol’ scarf. Trendy, feminine accessories like mismatched pearl studs, a pastel satchel and statement shades give the getup a polished finish.
H&M Texture Sweatshirt ($15), Oasis Grey Tweed Cocoon Coat ($140), COS Oversized Wool Scarf ($99), Furla Candy – Mini Top Handle Crossbody Bag ($148), Bauble Bar Pearl 360 Studs ($28), Adidas Stan Smith Sneakers ($75), illesteva Meyer Safari ($300), Rag & Bone Shredded Boyfriend Jean ($220)
After Hours
Paint the town white in head-to-toe neutrals with a few unexpected accents that will really bring your look to life. Ditch the little black dress for a white embellished crop top and textured high waist pencil skirt for an appealing silhouette with a fashion-forward twist. Your go-to pumps get subbed out for bold metallic booties — because metallics and white are a match made in heaven — for a taste of the unexpected. A quirky holographic clutch and fabulous pink coat introduce a subtle pop of color that make the look feel fresh and fun.
Topshop Embellished Front Knit Top ($125), Shakuhachi White Waffle Pencil Skirt ($158), ASOS V Bar Clutch Bag ($34), Olive + Piper Daisy Tassel Drops ($32), L’F Good Genes Shoes ($366), Selected Femme Light Pink Philly Wool Coat ($230)
