5 Ways to Copy Alison Pill’s Non-Traditional Colored Wedding Dress
While you were barbecuing and sipping on cocktails this past weekend, Alison Pill was saying “I do” in the cutest yellow wedding dress that ever was. The 29-year-old actress (who you might recognize from HBO’s The Newsroom) wed Joshua Leonard this past Saturday in an adorably intimate ceremony.
Pill took to Instagram on Saturday to share her big day with all her followers. She shared a snap of her and her new hubby accompanied by the simple caption, “We’re married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #pillnard.” In the cute shot of the newlyweds, Alison is rocking a delicate yellow dress, bold red lips and a head full of curls.
While yellow obviously isn’t the standard bridal color, it seemed to perfectly suit the couple’s low-key affair (they said their vows in a seated circle formation and then ate toast together). We’re all for ditching tradition in favor of a wedding that’s authentically representative of the people getting married. If you love Alison’s alternative yellow dress, here are five similarly sunny gowns that could totally work as bridal attire.
1. Ruched Bodice Bandeau Maxi Dress ($135): Copy Pill’s soft shade of yellow, but add a slightly sexier vibe by ditching the sleeves in favor of a strapless top.
2. Arianna Dress ($348): If you have a summer wedding in the works, this strappy number from Reformation will keep you cool and looking like a star.
3. Beaded Georgette Maxi Dress ($351): Play up Alison’s vintage vibe in this delicate, beaded number.4. Shining Sun Gown ($125): If you don’t care about keeping your dress after the wedding, rent this sequined Halston Heritage gown for a mere $125.
5. Cortana Mil Gown ($2,800): If this sunny ensemble isn’t the epitome of a perfect summer bride, we’re not sure what is.
