Amanda Bynes Plans to Return to Acting in 2018
Amanda Bynes thrilled fans back in June when she announced that she had been sober for three years and was thinking about heading back to TV. Now it looks like she may return to acting sooner rather than later!
“Amanda is looking forward to ringing in the new year with her close friends this year,” Bynes’ lawyer told Page Six this week. “In 2018, she looks forward to completing fashion school and dipping her toe back into acting.” We certainly like the sound of that!
Bynes, who is currently taking classes at LA’s Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, has been on a break from acting since the 2010 film Easy A. Prior to that, she had roles in What a Girl Wants, She’s the Man, Hairspray, What I Like About You, The Amanda Show, and All That.
Her on-screen experience is surely why, as her lawyer says, “She has had several offers.” However, she’s waiting for the perfect project before she makes her big return. “[She] is waiting for the right one to come along for a comeback,” her lawyer told Page Six.
Over the summer, when the former child star admitted to Hollyscoop that she missed acting and was planning to resurrect her career, she had a few ideas for what that perfect project might be. “I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on a show that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of in the future,” she said in June.
Since reboots are all the rage these days, perhaps it’s time to bring back one of her old shows, but with a more mature, adult-like spin. Or maybe she’ll pop up on one of our current favorite series, like Riverdale. We’ll just have to wait and see!
