Amazon Just Ordered 2 More Seasons of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s New Show
Lauren Graham may have some seriously bad news for Gilmore Girls fans, which is in no way helped out by the disappointing admission by Milo Ventimiglia (why must he keep breaking our hearts?!), but now GG creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has swept in to save the day with an announcement that will make Gilmore Girls fans VERY happy.
While there’s still no news around the possibility of more Gilmore Girls episodes (are they really going to leave us with *that* controversial cliffhanger?), there is some super exciting buzz around another Sherman-Palladino project. Amazon has just announced that they have picked up an additional two seasons of her newest series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Starring House of Cards‘ Rachel Brosnahan, Miriam “Midge” Maisel is a quirky ’50s NYC uptown housewife with ambitions of being a stand-up comic in Greenwich Village. “In her onstage debut, Mrs. Maisel killed and had audiences responding overwhelmingly with digital applause,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy, Drama & VR, Amazon Studios. “Like any great young stand-up, we’re excited to see what she has to say next and for a long time to come. That made it an easy decision to order two seasons from Amy and her incredible cast. We can’t wait to bring it to customers soon.”
Congrats, Mrs. Maisel and Amy Sherman-Palladino! Now, when do we get some good news about Gilmore Girls?
