Short party dresses or skirts aren't abnormal during winter, but you may want to participate in the trend without sacrificing on modesty. Or, you might want to bypass that for an outfit that keeps everything 90-95% covered. Winter is the one of the seasons where I like to keep it modest because I like protecting my limbs from frostbite. It's not fun to freeze — nor is speeding up flu symptoms — but more power to y'all who can still rock those looks in these temps!

If you're stuck in a winter style rut and need a few stylish ideas, I have 8 super easy winter outfits you'll love recreating at home!

Check out the best easy winter outfits that will look totally amazing all season long!

1. Turtleneck + Wide Leg Jeans

Jasmine Williams

Finding a modest outfit combination that works during winter feels like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes, but there are fail-proof options! For example, wearing a turtleneck sweater with a pair of wide-leg jeans is something anyone can pull off. Both cover all parts of your body save your hands and feet, plus you can drape a winter coat over your shoulders!

2. Teddy Coat + Classic Button-Up Shirt

Brit + Co

A classic button-up shirt add a naturally polished appeal to any outfit because they can be dressed up or down. Though this outfit features a 'white top and jeans' combo with black loafers, the short teddy coat gives it a casual feel. It's great for anyone who doesn't have time to change after work to meet up with friends for dinner and drinks!

3. V-Neck Sweater + Cargo Pants

Jasmine Williams

Despite its seemingly plunging neckline, a v-neck sweater is for all the girls who love modest outfits. You can easily opt for a hemline that rests at the bottom of your waist, but the oversized or tunic look works too! Pair it with cute cargo pants and a pair of ankle boots, and you have an awesome outfit on your hands!

4. Denim Skirt + Lightweight Coat

Brit + Co

There's no need to force yourself to like the mini bubble skirt trend just because it's included in a few holiday new arrivals. You can stick to a midi denim skirt, tights, and a lightweight coat if that feels more comfortable. As far as I'm concerned, it's a low-fuss outfit idea that can take you from family holiday pictures to date night.

5. Smocked Top + Ankle Boots

Brit + Co

A smocked top can still be worn during winter, but you just need to make sure you have a nice trench coat to go over your entire outfit. Also, check to make sure the sleeves are flouncy enough to peek through for a modern renaissance moment!

6. Rib Knit Top + Bandeau Dress

Jasmine Williams

Let's address the elephant in the room: I don't recommend that you wear strappy heels during winter if you're going to be walking through snow. But, you can absolutely wear a rib knit top under a bandeau dress. Just makes sure it's a longline option so your outfit remains modest!

7. Denim Jumpsuit

Jasmine Williams

I love a good denim jumpsuit, especially if it has a similar features of cargo pants. However, that's not a requirement for anyone. The goal is to wear something that still speaks to your personal style as long as it's long-sleeved and doesn't have any cut-out action going on!

8. Barbie Pink Coat + Straight Leg Jeans

Jasmine Williams

Lastly, a Barbie pink coat and a pair of straight leg jeans is one of the easiest modest outfit combinations you'll love wearing this winter. The only thing I recommend wearing is a sleek rib knit or cotton sweater with them so nothing feels bulky.

With the holidays in full swing, it seems only right to snuggle up on the couch and watch Christmas movies. And the first movie that’s at the top of our list? It’s none other than 2003’s rom-com Love Actually, which stars Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Alan Rickman, Andrew Lincoln and Emma Thompson. Sure, the movie will forever tug at our heartstrings. (We are STILL upset that Sarah and Karl didn’t end up together.) But what makes the timeless holiday classic so great are the relatable characters. And, while watching the film, if you ever resonated with Natalie because she gave off major Gemini vibes, then you’re certainly not the only one.

Keep reading to find out which Love, Actually character you are, based on your zodiac sign.

Universal Pictures

Aries (March 21 – April 20): Colin Frissell

Aries like to take action and go after what they want. So are we really surprised that Colin Frissell embodies this zodiac sign to a T? Not only does he move to America to find a girlfriend, but his plan actually works, and he ends up taking her back to London with him. Talk about a man who’s bold and ambitious.

Universal Pictures

Taurus (April 21 – May 21): Jamie

Tauruses are known for being as loyal, dependable and hard-working. This is the case for Jamie, who is diligent writing his book when he meets Aurélia, who is hired as his personal housekeeper. If that wasn’t enough Jamie is patient and steady. So, when Jamie enrolled in a class to learn Aurélia’s native language and flew to her hometown in order to propose to her, we couldn’t help but think how Taurus coded he was.

Universal Pictures

Gemini (May 22 – June 21): Natalie

With Geminis, they are referred to as the sign with “two faces.” When Natalie first meets the Prime Minister, she is nice and respectful…until she utters the word “fuck” right in front of him, which he makes him smile uncontrollably (and us too!). On one hand, Natalie can be shy, sweet and polite. But whenever she’s around someone she’s comfortable (i.e. her family), she has quite the potty mouth. Could it be her celestial twin peeking through?

Universal Pictures

Cancer (June 22 – July 22): Karen

When it comes to Cancers, they are known as the nurturers of the zodiac signs. After Karen finds out about her husband’s brief indiscretion with a co-worker, one would think that her first thought would be to get a divorce and leave him. But in the end, they stay together for the sake of their children. Consider Karen a true “ride or die” partner.

Universal Pictures

Leo (July 23 – August 22): The Prime Minister

Being that he holds a high ranking position, the Prime Minister is well accustomed to being in the spotlight. While Leo’s are considered to be natural-born leaders, it comes as no surprise that the Prime Minister exudes a sense of confidence and comfortability when it comes to being the center of attention. And they are willing to protect the ones they love, which makes the Prime Minister’s remark toward the President of the United States (after he saw the commander in chief behaving inappropriately toward Natalie) that much more iconic.

Universal Pictures

Virgo (August 23 – September 21): Sarah

Sarah was willing to do anything for her brother: even if that meant sacrificing her own happiness. Similarly, Virgos have this impeccable ability to focus and hone in on their skills or whatever they put their mind to, hence why Sarah put all of her energy into supporting her brother, who was struggling with mental illness.

Universal Pictures

Libra (September 22 – October 22): Juliet

Some may think Julie was unfaithful when ran up to Mark (AKA her husband’s best friend) and kissed him after professing his love through cue cards. But many Libras may fall victim to this: they tend to be indecisive, and as a result, this zodiac sign could end up putting other people’s feelings before their own. And the same thing can be said for Julie, who kisses Mark after he confesses his love for her. Nevertheless, Libras are just lover girls/boys at heart.

Universal Pictures

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Harry

Known for being quite intense and mysterious, Scorpios can be misunderstood in many ways. (Yes, even more than Geminis…) So, it’s not hard to see clear parallels between Harry and Scorpios when he *coughs* starts having an affair with his co-worker and keeps it a secret from his wife *coughs*.

Universal Pictures

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Jeannie

Sagittariuses are vibrant, fun-loving individuals who enjoy a good adventure. When Jeannie meets Colin in a bar upon his arrival to the States, she is so enamored with his British accent. And she is so open to exploring a romance with Colin upon first meeting him. Well, her and her three friends, that is…

Universal Pictures

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): Mark

Similar to how Capricorns are incredibly loyal and dedicated to their relationships (whether romantic or platonic), Mark is determined to not ruin his friendship with Peter (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor). Even though he is madly in love with his best friend’s wife, Juliet. NBD.

Universal Pictures

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Joanna Anderson

Joanna Anderson really is THAT girl. When she performs “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at the Christmas concert, she truly steals the show. (Not to mention that her voice is undoubtedly angelic.) So, it goes without saying that Joanna gives off major Aquarius vibes. This zodiac sign is known for being authentic and creative. Plus, Aquariuses are considered the humanitarian astrological sign. Need we say more?

Universal Pictures

Pisces (February 19 – March 20): Sam

Sam is compassionate, empathic and sensitive; just like a Pisces. In case you need a refresher, Sam learned how to play drums so he can perform alongside Joanna in the Christmas concert, not to mention he ran through an airport to profess his love for her before she left for America. If that’s not true love, then we don’t know what is.

You loved our fall trends for women over 50 story so much we just couldn't wait to share winter ideas with you! Though there's not a huge difference between what's popular during both seasons, there are small ways you can transition your wardrobe. From tailored denim to scarf coats (our favorite), here are five winter trends women over 50 can seamlessly wear!

Explore the top 5 winter trends women over 50 can easily style

  1. Banana Republic Pia Denim Midi Skirt
  2. Mango Suede Leather Loafers
  3. Tecovas Sierra Tote Bag
  4. Abercrombie & Fitch Easy Funnel Neck Sweater
  5. Anthropologie Brushed Cardigan Sweater Coat

1. Tailored Denim

Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor The Denim Trouser

Denim is a timeless classic that's been around for as long as any of us can remember. It also comes in a variety of styles, making it easy to style no matter your age. What makes tailored denim so special — like this pair of Ann Taylor trousers — is it's ability to be appropriate for business casual work settings. The classic rinse wash is more ideal for cooler winter days while the flared hemlines give ankle books a nice peek-a-boo feature.

GAP

GAP Classic Button-Down Jean Shirt

A classic button-down shirt with non-stretch denim is another easy style to wear because it can go with almost anything you own. Bootcut jeans? Yep! A suede midi skirt? We love a western moment! However, the most important thing we appreciate about this shirt is that it's made of 95% cotton.

Banana Republic

Banana Republic Pia Denim Midi Skirt

Denim skirtshave been been on the style scene for a while and we're sure they're here to stay. To avoid baring too much skin during winter, opt for a midi option like this piece from Banana Republic. It has a similar flared hemline like the Ann Taylor Denim Trousers, making it appropriate for 9 to 5 days, brunch with friends on Saturday, or church on Sundays!

2. Playful Textures

Mango

Mango Suede Leather Loafers

Loafers are an absolute staple during fall and winter, hence why we keep talking about them so much! They're a chic way to elevate even the most basic t-shirt and jeans outfit combinations, plus they work for everyone. Get a suede pair to add subtle texture to your outfit for a fun chic moment.

Old Navy

Old Navy High-Waisted Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants

Corduroy pants are another winter staple that continue to be recycled throughout the years. No matter how hard we try, we keep coming back to them which is why we think they're a great style option for women over 50. Because of their texture, these pants can also add subtle texture to your overall look without creating a huge statement.

Saks Fifth Avenue

Joe's Jeans by Dani Michelle Mia Crop Leather Pants

If you want to wear something a little bolder, you can't go wrong with black leather pants. They're a must-have during colder months, especially if they're lined!

This pair gives you the option to wear them with calf or knee-high boots so that they elongate your frame. Ankle boots are always cute, but they'd slightly throw off the dimensions of these pants! Once you have your chosen footwear, add a cute cardigan or sweater to it for a cozy look that'll receive compliments!

3. Animal Print

Tecovas

Tecovas Sierra Tote Bag

Leopard print is always trending, but that doesn't mean that's the only animal pattern you have to wear. Cow print is another fun way to add a pop of texture to your outfit if you're wearing something monochromatic. Or, you can easily copy the outfit above and look equally as stylish.

P.S. Don't be surprised if you see someone from B+C's editorial team wearing this look!

Banana Republic

Banana Republic Oversized Snake Print Midi Dress

It's okay if wearing cow print feels weird to you because that's not your only option! Snake print is another pattern you can wear, especially if it looks like this Banana Republic midi dress. Instead of the typical depiction of snakes, this dress looks like someone zoomed in on scales and created something that feels more refined.

Sam Edelman

Sam Edelman Linnie Bit Mule

Add a touch of zebra print to your winter outfit with these calf hair mules by Sam Edelman. They still have a bold factor like the Tecovas tote bag or the Banana Republic snake print dress, but they're not as in-your-face.

4. Shades Of Green

J.Crew

J.Crew Daphne Topcoat

Everyone needs a nice topcoat in their life, preferably in the shade green! We're 100% biased about that because green brings out a person's inner glow and helps ground them based on color psychology. Also, the fact you could wear a sweatsuit with this coat and still look put together makes us excited to share it with you.

Target

Target Bucket Crossbody Bag

Add a pop of color to your outfit with this cute crossbody bag found at Target, everyone's favorite place to shop. The minimal gold hardware gives it such a sleek appearance that we're personally fighting the urge to buy it in black too!

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch Easy Funnel Neck Sweater

You can always rely on a sweater to be easy to style! Abercrombie & Fitch's funnel neck version is amazing for anyone who wants to wear a turtleneck without feeling like they're struggling to breathe. We understand they're not always comfortable, but you won't get that with this cute style!

5. Cardigan & Coats

Anthropologie

Anthropologie Brushed Cardigan Sweater Coat

Are you ready to give up cardigans? We figured you'd say no so we're giving the best of both worlds — a cardigan coat. Anthropologie always has the cutest winter styles so this brushed texture was too cozy-looking to ignore. You know what's even more exciting about it? Anthropologie is literally giving you an OOTD idea you can easily recreate at home!

NA-KD

NA-KD Wool Scarf Detail Coat

Protect your neck from the brutal winter winds with NA-KD's scarf coat that'll keep you warm and chic. It's slightly oversized so you're able to wrap yourself up and not have to worry about looking like you didn't put any effort into your look.

Quince

Quince Double-Faced Merino Wool Scarf Coat

Go for a shorter option for the days where it's not as cold. You'll still get the same effect from a longer scarf coat without feeling like you'll trip over the hemline. Since Quince's design is wool, you'll still be nice and toasty! Just add a pair of gloves so that your hands don't freeze!

Baked brie is one of our favorite Christmas appetizers, but if you usually can't take part in the creamy goodness, have no fear. This vegan recipe swaps regular cheese for a cashew-based alternative. You can use cashews to make a convincingly creamy dip, and the nutritional yeast in this pick gives it a cheesy flavor that's almost too good to be true.

Jac's on Bond Bodega Buns Cocktail

Jac's on Bond

Oh, honey! This luscious Christmas cocktail emulates the sticky sweetness of Honey Buns mixed with notes of gin, pineapple, and lemon. You'll infuse a small batch of Ford's gin with Honey Buns first before shaking 2 oz of it with .5 oz pineapple juice, .5 oz lemon juice, .5 oz simply syrup, and a pinch of Maldon salt, and straining into a coupe glass.

“The Bodega Buns is the unexpectedly harmonious marriage of a “tropical” gimlet and the bodega classic Honey Bun," says Trevor Langer, Head Bartender at NYC's Jac’s on Bond. "The odd couple pairing brings out the best tasting quality in one another and subdue what some can consider less desirable. I.e. the sharpness of the gin and brightness from the citrus cut the cloying sweetness one may experience when eating a packaged cake, whilst still allowing that delectable bready note to still be present. My favorite thing to hear, which happens most times people try this drink for the first time is: ‘That literally tastes like a Honeybun!’”
