All the Young Gymnasts Who Have Spoken Out Against Larry Nassar

When the #MeToo movement reemerged last October when Harvey Weinstein was exposed as a serial sexual predator, a landslide of accusations against other men emerged. From Hollywood bigshots to politicians, the stories of assault and abuse kept rolling in for months. Still, relatively little attention has been paid to Larry Nassar, the former gymnastics doctor for the USA women’s Olympic team and Michigan State University who has been accused of abusing young girls, and charged with child pornography crimes. Nassar has been accused of more than 140 women of sexual abuse, a list that now includes one of America’s most loved young athletes: Simone Biles.

In a tweet on Monday, Biles, who competed in the 2016 Olympics, added her name to the women who have come forward about abuse they suffered from Nassar. In her post, Biles wrote, “I too am one of the many survivors that was sexually abused by Larry Nassar. Please believe me when I say it was a lot harder to first speak those words out loud than it is now to put them on paper.” She added that for a long time she blamed herself for what Nassar did to her, and that “we need to make sure something like this never happens again.”

Nassar recently pled guilty to several counts of criminal sexual conduct, and his sentencing hearing began today. He faces up to 25 years in prison. Victims have the opportunity to make impact statements detailing what Nassar did to them and the effect it has had on their lives, a portion of the sentencing hearing that CNN reports could take a few days.

As Biles comes forward, here’s what some other young women have said about the abuse Nassar inflicted on them.

Mckayla maroney

In October, Team USA gold medalist McKayla Maroney stepped forward and said that Nassar started sexually abusing her when she was 13 years old. In a now-deleted tweet, Maroney said that Nassar told her that the abuse was a “medically necessary treatment.” Maroney said in her tweet that it seemed Nassar took any and every chance to “treat” her, and continued to harm her throughout her entire Olympic career. According to CNN, Maroney only escaped Nassar’s abuse when she left the Olympic team in 2016.

aly raisman

Maroney and Biles’ teammate Aly Raisman was the second member of the 2016 Olympic team to accuse Nassar of sexual abuse. Raisman said in a November interview with People that Nassar started abusing her when she was 15, and that he also claimed the abuse was a type of medical treatment. Raisman also said she was “brainwashed” into thinking that she was okay.

Raisman explains in her new book, Fierce, that it wasn’t until she started getting real treatment from other trainers and doctors that she realized Nassar was abusing her. The Olympic champion writes in her book: “And there was never a moment when their methods made me uncomfortable. It was different with Larry. I would lie on the table, my hands involuntarily balling themselves into fists as his ungloved hands worked their way under my clothing. ‘Treatment sessions’ with him always made me feel tense and uncomfortable.”

Soon after Raisman made her story public in November, fellow teammate Gabby Douglas said Nassar abused her, too. Douglas stated that she was abused by Nassar in a statement apologizing for the way she had responded to one of Raisman’s tweets that called out victim-shaming. Douglas responded to the tweet by suggesting women shouldn’t wear revealing clothing, but later apologized for her remark on Instagram, and said that she hadn’t spoken out about the abuse sooner because she was “conditioned to stay silent and honestly some things were extremely painful.”

maggie nichols

Maggie Nichols, who competed in the 2012 London Olympics where the women’s gymnastics team won the gold, came forward earlier this month to accuse Nassar of sexual abuse. Through a statement released by her attorney, Nichols said on January 9 that she too had been one of Nassar’s victims while she competed on Team USA, starting when she was 15 years old. In the statement, Nichols says that she thought of Nassar as both a friend to her and a doctor, and described how he “groomed” her for abuse.

“He contacted me on Facebook complimenting me and telling me how beautiful I looked on numerous occasions,” Nichols’s statement reads. “But I was only 15 and I just thought he was trying to be nice to me. Now I believe this was part of the grooming process I recently learned about.”

Kyle stephens

According to CNN, Kyle Stephens was the first of Nassar’s victims to give her victim impact statement at Nassar’s sentencing hearing in Michigan today. Stephens says Nassar, who was a friend of her family’s, started abusing her when she was just six years old. In her statement in court today, Stephens told Nassar: “Little girls don’t stay little forever. They grow into strong women that return to destroy your world.”

In your weekly horoscope, the stars are serving up a potent blend of "me" and "we" with a Full Moon in Libra on Saturday. Think of it as a cosmic Marie Kondo moment – what relationships (or ways of being in them) spark joy...and what needs to go? Plus, fiery Aries is still kicking, but get this: dreamy Neptune is sliding into its territory for a long stay. Buckle up — things are about to get interesting. Your weekly horoscope intel starts right here!

Ksenia Chernaya

The Full Moon in Libra arrives on Saturday, April 12, offering a powerful opportunity to balance the energies of Libra and Aries — the harmony between "we" and "me."To truly support and serve others, we must first be grounded in our own strength and well-being. Ask yourself: are you giving too much of yourself in the name of keeping the peace? This Full Moon illuminates what no longer serves you, guiding you to release it and restore your inner balance.

The archetype of Aries continues to resonate through the collective and will be with us for years to come. As we approach the final days of the Sun in Aries, let’s use this time to deepen our connection to its potent energy and harness it for the greater good.

Aries is a fire sign. It is the bold, courageous warrior of the zodiac — a symbol of new beginnings and willful action. It invites us to assert ourselves, live with authenticity, and take initiative. At its highest, Aries is altruistic and advocates for the vulnerable. Yet, its intensity can spill into aggression or impulsiveness. When guided by wisdom and awareness, this fiery energy becomes a powerful force for progress. But without grounding, it can be reckless and disruptive.

Neptune’s recent move into Aries (March 30, 2025) marks a significant generational shift that will unfold through 2039. Neptune brings dreaminess, spirituality, and idealism — hallmarks of Pisces. As I’ve written before, let’s hope we witness the rise of the peaceful (Pisces) warrior (Aries) and that global leaders channel this blend into compassionate, proactive change.

Leeloo The First

On April 15, Mercury enters Aries, urging us to speak up and speak out. This transit energizes our minds and sharpens our tongues — encouraging bold ideas and courageous dialogue. Use it to initiate action or finally speak truths long held back. Just remember: words have power. Aim for clarity, not conflict.

Mars, Aries’ ruling planet, charges into Leo on April 17, igniting double firepower. This combination emboldens us to act from the heart, pursue dreams, and live in alignment with our true selves. But with two fiery signs in play, the energy can be combustible. Channel it wisely, and ensure your passion is tempered with care for others.

Then on April 19, the Sun moves into earthy, grounded Taurus. This is the perfect time to commit — or recommit — to routines that promote stability and presence. Taurus offers steady, practical energy that supports us in building something sustainable and meaningful.

After only two episodes of Only Murders in the Building season 4, Hulu renewed the series for season 5! I'm so excited that the show breaks a recent pattern of cancelling shows after the third or fourth season, giving us more time with our favorite characters, and I'm not the only one.

"Here we go again… my favorite set family. I’m coming home!" Selena Gomez says in an Instagram post, while the official Only Murders account made their own post, saying, "We had our lawyers call business affairs. Turned the 4 into a 5. #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding is coming back for Season 5!!"

In addition to the show entering production, the one and only Renée Zellweger (Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy) just joined the cast. Iconic!

Here's everything you need to know about Only Murders in the Building season 5, coming to Hulu soon.

Who's in the Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast?

Eric McCandless/Disney

The Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast features all our favorites, and some new faces! According to Dan Fogelman, “we can expect more big guest stars that’ll probably be announced sooner rather than later,” he tells The Wrap.

"I am so grateful that I have been surrounded by human beings that make me better, challenge me, remind me day after day that every moment is a gift," Selena Gomez says about working with Steve Martin and Martin Short. "That’s my pure joy. I thank god for the era I’m in. It’s been the best yet."

The Only Murders season 5 cast includes:

  • Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora: a true crime lover who begins her own podcast after getting sucked into a murder mystery.
  • Martin Short as Oliver Putnam: a theatre director and founder of the Only Murders in the Building podcast.
  • Steve Martin as Charles Hayden Savage: an actor and true crime lover who begins the Only Murders podcast with Oliver and Mabel.
  • Téa Leoni as Sofia Caccimelio: a woman who approaches the podcast trio after her husband Nicky goes missing.
  • Renée Zellweger
  • Christoph Waltz
  • Keegan-Michael Key

What is Only Murders in the Building season 5 about?

Patrick Harbron/Disney

We finally got our first details about Only Murders season 5 — and we're going in a direction I totally didn't expect. When Sofia visits Mabel and Charles in the season 4 ending, and asks them to find her missing husband, she's disappointed when they turn her down. And since Téa Leoni just joined the season 5 cast, it looks like she's not taking no for an answer.

“I think she’s the great tease at the end of the finale and a little bit of an intriguing bump forward,” co-creator John Hoffman says in an interview with Deadline. “She’s an extension of the little news report in Episode 9 that Mabel makes note of at the hospital. [Sofia] is the wife of the Dry Cleaning King of Brooklyn, and maybe a couple of dry cleaning outlets in Manhattan, as well, we may come to know...It’s a world opened up potentially that we haven’t talked about too much yet in New York, so she holds a lot of intrigue.”

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

New York's underground is a wild space that we haven't really seen on Only Murders yet so I know we're in for one very interesting season — because if this show is going to go there, they're going to go there.

Executive producer Dan Fogelman told The Wrapwe can look forward to “another big fun mystery the writers have been cooking up," while Hoffman has gone on the record saying the new episodes will “hit on some very current things going on within New York, specifically very relevant things that are happening in the city right now.”

When is Only Murders in the Building season 5 coming out?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

There's no Only Murders in the Building season 5 release date quite yet, but the show is in production! Considering we've had a new season over the last four years (with season 1 in 2021, season 2 in 2022, season 3 in 2023, and season 4 in 2024), we're expecting to see season 5 in 2025. Stay tuned for the official Only Murders season 5 release date.

How many episodes are there in Only Murders in the Building season 5?

Patrick Harbron/Hulu

Only Murders in the Building season 5 will have 10 episodes total on Hulu.

The only thing keeping me from being upset about A Court of Thorns and Roses TV show being canceled is how well Hulu handled it's newest thriller, Paradise. Created by screenwriter Dan Fogelman (This Is Us) and starring Sterling K. Brown, it's a murder mystery with dystopian undertones that explores what could happen if states become uninhabitable.

Besides feeling relevant to our current timeline, Paradise has a soundtrack that rivals Strangers Things and leaves viewers wanting more. Fortunately, Hulu got the memo and renewed it for season 2 — thank goodness!

Here's everything to know about Paradise season 2!

Who's a part of the cast for Paradise season 2?

Disney/Cristian Lopez

Sterling K. Brown is already slated to return as Agent Xavier Collins (of course), but there's more new cast members in town! Deadline reports Shailene Woodley (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, and Big Little Lies) will be starring in Paradise season 2. According to the outlet, there's a chance she'll be one of the survivors that exist outside of Paradise (the bunker's community name) and will meet Agent Xavier Collins.

Additionally, Deadlinealso shared Michael McGrady (Ray Donovan), Thomas Doherty (Tell Me Lies) and Timothy Omundson (Supernatural) will make regular appearances throughout the show. The outlet is confident they're going to be in a gang that'll have a prominent affect on Paradise season 2's storyline (via Deadline).

I can't wait to see everyone in action!

Has Paradise season 2 began filming?

I'm pinching myself because Paradise season 2 has started filming! Dan Fogelman shared the amazing news on his Instagram and his comments are buzzing with excitement! "We’re baaaaaaaack. #Paradise#S2," he wrote which means we could see Sterling K. Brown and Julianne Nichols on our screens sooner than anticipated.

This comes after an update Fogelman shared with a hopeful fan on X. In response to a fear viewers would have to wait a long time to see more action from our new favorite characters, Fogelman put all fears aside. "we start shooting in just a few weeks. It won’t be 2 years I promise! #Paradise," he said.

When does Paradise season 2 premiere?

Disney/Brian Roedel

Filming just started for Paradise season 2, so a premiere date for it hasn't been shared yet. But at the rate Fogelman's going, we could possibly see the thriller series on Hulu towards the end of the year or at the beginning of 2026!

For now, fans can rewatch Season 1 on Hulu or when it appears on ABC April 7 at 10:00 p.m. (via The Hollywood Reporter).

What is Paradise about?

Disney/Brian Roedel

Paradise begins in an idyllic community where homes are picturesque, streets are clean, and everyone lives in perfect harmony. However, it doesn't take long for the peace to be disturbed when the President is discovered murdered by his trusted Secret Service agent Xavier Collins.

Before long, he begins questioning the world he and his children live in while also searching for clues about his missing wife.

Who was in the Paradise season 1 cast?

Disney/Brian Roedel

Paradise Season 1 had a stacked cast! Besides Sterling K. Brown, there's other familiar faces who helped with the show's equilibrium.

  • Sterling K. Brown as Xavier Collins
  • James Marsden as President Cal Bradford
  • Julianne Nicholson as "Sinatra"
  • Krys Marshall as Robinson
  • Sarah Shahi as Dr. Gabriela Torabi
  • Jon Beavers as Billy Pace
  • Nicole Brydon Bloom as Jane Driscoll
  • Aliyah Mastin as Presley Collins
  • Percy Daggs IV as James Collins
  • Charlie Evans as Jeremy Bradford
  • Richard Robichaux as Carl

What's happened in Paradise so far?

Disney/Brian Roedel

Wow, where do I begin?!

After it was revealed that the community he and everyone else lives in has been artificially created due to a disaster, the brief moments of unease Collins shows begins making sense. It's clear he and President Cal ended on bad terms before his death, but it doesn't seem like he was responsible for murdering the man he was sworn to protect.

What's odd is that Sinatra, the mastermind behind the beautiful community they live in, has been playing puppet master. She ordered the deaths of scientists sent to the surface to test the air quality AND she made sure Agent Billy was blindsided by his love interest's manipulation. Upsettingly, his murderer is none other than seemingly docile and clueless Agent Jane.

Viewers were also introduced to President Cal's father and were able to see how much he never wanted to be the face of the country. Though his father appears to have dementia, it's clear he feels guilty about something and may have seen who killed his son.

When did the season finale of Paradise season air?

Disney/Brian Roedel

Paradise left off on several cliffhangers on Hulu March 4!

How many seasons of Paradise will there be?

Disney/Brian Roedel

Dan Fogelman already knows what he wants to do with Paradise! He said, "I have a plan for three seasons of the show. Without giving away too much, each season of the show is a slightly different show, within the same show with the same characters," (via The Hollywood Reporter).

This post has been updated.

While we're all sad about The White Lotus season 3 coming to a close following the shocking finale, there is some good news: the show was already renewed for a fourth season! That means fans of the drama and debauchery will definitely be getting another fix soon. But where will our next dose be set?

All three iterations of The White Lotusthus far have been set in tropical destinations, with filming at The Four Seasons. According to executive producer David Bernad, the series continues to use this specific luxury resort chain since they were "the one hotel that let us shoot there."

Let's do a quick recap: season 1 was set in Hawaii, season 2 was in Italy, and season 3 was, of course, Thailand. These locales aren't chosen at random, either, but are rather picked to match each season's theme.

"For example, Koh Samui was not only chosen for its visually stunning environment overlooking the Gulf of Thailand but also for its thematic alignment with the season's exploration of Eastern spirituality and existential themes," detailed the chief commercial officer of Four Seasons Hotels, Marc Speichert.

However, fans have noticed how creator Mike White hasn't repeated any continents. Plus, each of the past filming locales was tropical, which may suggest the next season will go against the grain in a chillier region. With all this in mind, here are the locations rumored to be top contenders for The White Lotus season 4.

Here are the top locations we think The White Lotusseason 4 could take place!

1. Mexico or Egypt

Taryn Elliott

While these two destinations are thousands of miles apart, we're grouping them together for one main reason: an insider spoke to Parade and claimed the show's producers were scouting both spots.

"Right now, it's looking like the next season of The White Lotus will be shot in Egypt or Mexico. They want to pick somewhere they haven't shot yet, so a new continent. They want to go somewhere completely new since this season is in Asia, which is why they're between the two. The decision should be made soon," the insider alleged.

This would make sense, given that both Mexico City and Punta Mita have The Four Seasons.

2. Australia

Mudassir Ali

Another possible option is Australia. In fact, Mike White admitted it would be his "dream" to hit every single continent with the show.

"We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going. It would be so fun. Obviously, there's a huge wealth of talent here, and the beauty is inarguable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes," he shared. (via Yahoo! News)

3. Norway

Pixabay

Lastly, I'm sure that a colder destination, like Norway, would help infuse brand-new antics into The White Lotus. Mike White supposedly scouted locations in the country, too, and reportedly spoke to the Norwegian Film Institute about a grant to film on location.

Unfortunately, though, executive producer David Bernad doesn't think it's actually in the cards, pointing out how Mike White isn't a fan of the cold.

During an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, he continued, "[Mike] is a California guy. He is not built for the cold. Never say never, but I would be surprised."

If The White Lotus remains so successful, it seems inevitable that the show will eventually have to venture to a non-tropical locale. But, for now, there are still plenty of filming location options, and we'll just have to stay tuned regarding where the season 4 batch of entitled travelers goes next.
