Belletrist's latest book club pick is Didion & Babitz, written by the brilliant author Lili Anolik. Talking to PEOPLE, Emma Roberts revealed the reason she chose this read. "Joan Didion was the first writer I truly loved as an adult person," she said and even went as far as admit she feels a personal connection to Didion's words.

As brilliant of a writer as she was, Joan had a complicated relationship with Eve Babitz. They started as close friends, but time gave way to sour feelings. Truthfully, Eve was the only person who truly understood Joan and was able to decode the mysterious nature of her former friend. It is through her letters that Anolik was able to pen this eye-opening novel.

Peter and Ivan Koubek may be brothers, but that doesn't mean they have the same interests or thought patterns. Redwood Court reads like a historical love letter to Black families and contains relationships that remind me of my own family. When Mika Tabor starts asking questions about her family's history, she receives much more than her class assignment asked for. The more she listens to her grandparents and observes her parents, she realizes they've been telling her meaningful stories all along. From tales of racism to the sweet grasp of a world that began moving past obvious racial tension, this novel offers a glimpse into the homes of many Black families.

While I often say I'd like to pass down books to my kids, Redwood Court has become something that I feel is mandatory to read.

January 2024: "First Lie Wins" by Ashley Elston

This dark comedy is inspired by the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist, where a maple syrup farmer stole millions of dollars worth of syrup in order to save her livelihood. Yep, really.

Queer Eye season 9 — On Netflix December 11, 2024

Kennedy Center Honors — On CBS December 22, 2024

The Kennedy Center Honors (a tribute ceremony that celebrates contributions to American performing art) always provide us with iconic moments — like Anna Kendrick fangirling over Beyoncé and Cynthia Erivo performing "Alfie" for Dionne Warwick. And this year promises to be no different.

The 2024 Kennedy Center Honors will honor Francis Ford Coppola, the Grateful Dead, Bonnie Raitt, Arturo Sandoval, and The Apollo.

Despite the fact we all took games very seriously in elementary school, I'm sure we can all agree no game of Red Light, Green Light comes close to the one in Squid Game. And we're in for another round of nail-biting challenges when season 2 drops December 26. As for what to expect?

Dick Clark's New Year’s Rockin’ Eve — On ABC December 31, 2024

If you ask me, there's no December TV show as iconic as New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. It's going to be the perfect way to ring out 2024 (and welcome 2025). Although I have to admit, I don't know how they're going to top Megan Thee Stallion, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter, and Tyla's performances from last year!
