DIY This $328 Anthropologie Wall Organizer for Less Than $50

You know that moment when you have so much work to do and somehow you spend hours cleaning instead of actually working?! We’ve all been there. A messy desk can increase your stress levels and distract you from being the #girlboss that you are! That’s why this Anthropologie Hanging Desk Organizer ($328) is giving us major desk envy. It’s the perfect solution for storing your stationary, tools or craft supplies while keeping your desk clutter-free. Today we’re showing you how to make a DIY Copycat — no power tools are required!

Materials + Tools

— plywood, 24 x 32 inch

— three pieces of basswood, 1/16 x 4 x 24 inch

— pencil

— ruler

— X-Acto knife

— cutting mat

— sandpaper, medium grit

— wood glue

— super glue

— blue spray paint (optional)

Instructions

1. Ask your local hardware store to cut your plywood board to 24 x 32 inches. Optional: Roughly divide your plywood board into three sections and mark it with a pencil. Each section will have two boxes.

2. To create a box, measure and mark on one piece of basswood two 4-inches pieces and three 1.5-inches pieces.

3. With a sharp X-Acto knife and a ruler to guide it, carefully cut the wood.

4. Add superglue along one side of a 1.5-inch piece and attach it to your back piece. Let it dry.

5. Once you’ve attached all three sides of the box to your back piece, reinforce the joints with more superglue.

6. Add superglue to the edge of the three side pieces and lay your front piece on top. Once the superglue has dried, add a little superglue to the inside of the joint. Set it aside to dry.

7. With a medium grit sandpaper, gently sand any rough edges or overlap for a smooth box. Continue steps 3-7 to create several boxes in different sizes. If you want to add a cork board or shelves, measure and mark your desired size with a pencil and ruler. Then cut it with an X-Acto knife.

8. Add wood glue to your box and gently place it where you want it on your plywood board. Leave it to dry overnight.

When you buy plywood from your local hardware store, they will usually be able to cut your board to the desired size. We asked to have it cut to 24 x 32 inches to hold all of our things! To plan out a rough layout for the board, we divided our plywood board into three sections, marked it with a pencil and planned to place two boxes in each section.

To create the boxes on one piece of basswood, measure and mark two 4-inch pieces and three 1.5-inch pieces. These will make your front, back, two sides and bottom pieces for one box. Even though it won’t be visible, we want to create a back for the box so we can glue it to our board and it won’t fall off.

With a sharp X-Acto knife and a ruler to guide it, carefully cut the wood. You won’t be able to cut it straight through with the first cut. Use normal pressure to make a few cuts over the same spot and it will cut through the basswood. You can also use balsa wood for a lightweight wood.

Add superglue along one side of a 1.5-inch piece and attach it to your back piece. Hold it in place for 10 seconds to let the superglue dry. Once you’ve attached all three sides of the box to your back piece, reinforce the joints with more superglue.

Now add superglue to the edge of the three side pieces and lay your front piece on top. Once the superglue has dried, add superglue to the inside of the joint where you can reach. Set it aside to dry for about five minutes.

With a medium grit sandpaper, gently sand any rough edges or overlap for a smooth box.

Continue steps 3-7 to create several boxes in different sizes. We created six boxes that were 4 x 4 inches, 4 x 7 inches and 7 x 4 inches. If you want to add a cork board or shelves, measure and mark your desired size with a pencil and ruler. Then cut it with an X-Acto knife.

Add wood glue to the back of your box and gently place it where you want it on your plywood board. The wood glue will make it slippery, so use gentle and firm pressure to attach it to the board. Leave it to dry overnight before using it.

Now all your crafty supplies are within easy reach!

Whenever our kitchens are a mess — it tends to feel like a metaphor for our life also being somewhat of a mess. You know the scene: When there are baking dishes and leftovers all over the place, mismatched Tupperware pieces spilling out of your cabinets, restocked pantry goods haphazardly stuffed into the wrong spots... It can be hard to deal when our kitchens are out of sorts.

If you're looking to declutter your kitchen, then you've come to the right place because we rounded up some of the coolest kitchen cabinet organizers and organization inspiration for your own kitchen in 2023. These babies save space without sacrificing style, which will make whipping up those one pot spring dinners way more fun. Keep reading for everything you need to know about how to organize kitchen cabinets.

How To Organize Kitchen Cabinets

The most important thing to focus on when organizing your kitchen cabinets is maximizing space. That just means making the most of the space that you have, because no matter how big your cabinets are, if they're filled to the brim with items that don't have a dedicated spot, it's going to feel cluttered.

Focus on keeping similar items together, using up vertical space by stacking where you're able (like with bowls or glasses) and making sure that every object has a dedicated space.

Use your cabinets to hold more than just kitchenware — display books and plants to bring some personality into your kitchen. You don't have to save all the fun for your bedroom and living room!

If you live in a small apartment, or just don't have cabinets, you can still take part in the fun. Use the space above your sink or your countertop to add your own shelves. This is a great option because when you're doing it yourself, you can customize the storage to your needs.

PMQ For Two

If you don't want to stack your plates (or you don't have the room for all the designs to have their own stacks), set them upright instead with a DIY plate rack. (via PMQ For Two)

Brit + Co

Okay, so this one isn't technically cabinet organization, but it will definitely save you room in your cabinets. DIY this wine rack that will move your wine bottles from your cabinets onto the wall and add color to your room at the same time.

The Home Edit's organization tips are totally inspiring thanks to their efficiency and their color. Grabbing bins from somewhere like The Container Store or Target can help you contain your products so they don't end up spread across your shelf, and they also make it easier to stack your items since they won't fall over.

Don't underestimate the power of labels. When you buy your bins, tubs, and other organizers, write what you intend to store inside on all the containers and make sure that the corresponding product is always inside. That way, you'll have one bin of flour instead of multiple half-empty bags. Plus, it just looks prettier!

For a quick update on the system you already have, stack your plates so that like plates are together, with the biggest plates are on the bottom — this will ensure they sit together in a way that takes up the least amount of room.

Make sure all the rims of your glasses are touching when storing them in your cabinets, and when you're organizing mugs, face the handles toward each other so there's less empty space and more room for new mugs. Because let's be honest, we can always buy new mugs.

A Beautiful Mess

Don't forget to use up the space on top of your cabinets too! Grab some baskets to organize new bottles of olive oil, bags of coffee, or cleaning supplies that you get from the store. (via A Beautiful Mess)

Kitchen Cabinet Organizers

If you love to stay hydrated (ie: you have nine water bottles in your cabinet), then you should grab a product like this YouCopia UpSpace Bottle Organizer ($25+). It'll keep all your water bottle snug together so that you have more room for all your mugs. Speaking of...

The great thing about these Better Houseware Undershelf Cup & Mug Hooks ($10 for two) is that since they hook around the top of a shelf, they don't take up any room at the base.

One way to make sure you save room is to use up vertical space instead of horizontal space. That's why we love the Chrome Roll-Out Bakeware Organizer ($66), which stacks all your muffin tins and cookie sheets on their end. Trust us: this will save you tons of room.

Your fruit deserves a comfy spot to hang out in, so grab a Macrame Fruit Hammock ($30) that will keep fruit off the counter. Cute!

The great thing about a container like the Everything Organ Cabinet Depth Pantry Bin ($101+) is that it's clear because you know what you have at all times. You won't have to pull out the bins to see what's inside!

Use an Expandable Countertop Organizer ($38) in your cabinets — or use it on your counter to clear out your cabinets). We love that this pick's expandable because that means you can move it around to different areas, no matter how big the area is.

A pot organizer like this one from MUDEELA ($22) will keep all your pots and pans together, and you won't have to put up with the noise of when they're stacked on top of each other.

You can't forget about the spices! A rack like this Spice Rack($25) will keep all your spices together and make accessing them a whole lot easier.

Some mDesign Metal Pull-Out Baskets ($21) will create organization within your cabinet the way that cubes do. It's like a two-in-one storage space!

It’s a happy day when we get to put away our sweaters and jackets and pull out our sundresses and sandals for warmer weather, which (we swear) is just around the corner. Organizing your closet can seem like a daunting task, but creating a simple system for success can make it manageable and even enjoyable. When you start each morning by opening your closet and see the picture perfect image of organization, you know you’re going to have a good day. Not only does it look good, but it makes getting ready so, so much easier. We talked to THE queen of organization, Jill Pollack, who runs a whole business helping women get organized. Here’s what she told us.

Hack 1: Keep your staples front and center

“People always ask me, ‘what’s your system?’ But it’s different for everyone,” Pollack says. “Do you think a skirt is casual? Do you wear more color or neutrals? For many people, their work and going out attire overlap.” Pollack recommends that instead of sectioning your closet into work clothes, going-out clothes and the like, think in simple terms and keep your staple items in front so they are easy to find. “Black tie clothes are for a rare occasion, so stick them in the back of your closet or a whole other closet all together.”

Hack 2: Don't be overly sentimental

You must learn to let go of those items you are never going to wear, like the jeans you keep thinking you’ll fit into someday or the t-shirt that you wouldn’t be caught dead in but reminds you of freshman year of college. “If you haven’t worn it in over a year and your weight and lifestyle have stayed pretty much the same, pass on it,” Pollack says. Other items Pollack says you need to chuck — anything irrevocably stained, not worth repairing, clothes you’ve tried on at least three times this year and rejected and items that make you feel unattractive.

Hack 3: Store seasonal items cleanly and neatly

Shutterstock

Pollack says the best way to keep your clothes in good shape when you are going to go months without wearing them is by first making sure they are clean, neatly folding them and sticking them in a cedar chest.

Hack 4: Create a system for shoes based on your closet size

Unless you have a shoe organization system set in place, your shoes are going to end up in a big heap on your closet floor. “If you have room for shelves, I like putting shoes there, at eye level,” Pollack says. “If you have a lot of closet floor space, I like double and triple shoe racks. But a hanging shoe rack works too.”

I thought my love for Target was unmatched...but T.J. Maxx is currently giving it a run for its money. Not only can I find some of the same products in there, but I usually get things on a bargain too. My usual $100+ purchases get slashed in half, whether I have a cart full of home decor or beauty finds — huge win for this girl!

Now that I'm back on a budget, I've been eyeing cute (and inexpensive) things that can aid in my upcoming Valentine's Day plans. Here's what I found at T.J. Maxx!

15 adorable T.J. Maxx Valentine's Day finds that won't mess up your 'slow spending' January goals!

T.J. Maxx Fashion Finds For The Stylish Girl On A Budget

T.J. Maxx

1. Dreamers by Debut Bow Applique Cardigan, $30

If you don't buy this bow cardigan for Valentine's Day, I will. I'm partially in my cute grandma era, so I've been looking for more to add to my closet. Aside from the red color, the pink bows add a 'coquette' vibe to it, which reminds me of one of the fashion trends that stylists say should be on your radar.

T.J. Maxx

2. Linea Donatella Satin Wrapper Robe, $14 (Was $17)

You'll feel like a sultry diva in this satin robe while getting ready for a hot date. It's a nice Barbie pink that has lace-trimmed sleeves and a cute tie to keep your goodies from spilling out.

T.J. Maxx

3. Idem Ditto Short Sleeve Mini Dress, $17

This short sleeve mini dress is perfect for grabbing dinner with your crush or friends because it doesn't give off a super sexy vibe. It's on the shorter side, but it's still an appropriate length for different settings!

T.J. Maxx

4. Le Lis Pff The Shoulder Crossover Bodysuit, $13

You don't have to wear a dress on love day if you don't want to! There's always this crossover bodysuit and a pair of nice jeans you can comfortably wear.

P.S. Add a pair of matching red flats or heels to really lean into the V-Day spirit.

T.J. Maxx

5. Madden Girl Sleeveless Bubble Dress, $17

Planning on going to a V-Day party? Wear this sleeveless bubble dress so that you have the freedom to move the way you want. I do recommend wearing a pair of bike shorts underneath so you don't accidentally flash anyone!

Bargain Beauty Finds For The Hair, Makeup, & Skincare-Obsessed Girl

T.J. Maxx

6. Foxy Bae Spring Clip Curling Iron, $17

T.J. Maxx is starting off strong with aesthetic beauty products because this cute mauve curling iron looks like it belongs in a feminine bathroom. Do you or I need another styling tool in 2025? Probably not, but you won't feel bad about the $17 price tag if you do decide to add it to your counter.

T.J. Maxx

7. Cala 8pc Hair Setting Clips, $6

Psst — you need hair clips to help set the curls you created with your new pink curling iron! They're work on every hair type and don't leave weird creases in your hair like some can. They're also great to use when you're doing your skincare or makeup routine!

T.J. Maxx

8. Studio Dry Satin Pillowcase, $7

When nighttime falls, you need a satin pillowcase to lay your head on. It helps reduce friction and frizz that can be caused by cotton pillowcases, plus it keeps moisture in your hair. I always buy every few months so that I can rotate them.

T.J. Maxx

9. Cala 12pc Cosmetic Powder Puffs, $8

If you're a setting or pressed powder girl, you need flat puffs to lock them into your makeup. I've noticed that using one helps create a smoother base, making my makeup look airbrushed. Even if it's not the look you're going for, a puff helps minimize the mess of using loose powders down.

T.J. Maxx

10. Le Monde Gourmand 1oz Rose Riche Eau De Parfum, $13

I love fragrances as much as the next person, but sometimes I don't have $60+ to drop on a new perfume. If you're looking for something that smells good and won't interfere with your grocery store cash, this Eau de Parfum will make you smell like a million bucks.

It has notes of Madagascar vanilla, cedar, and bergamot for a feminine scent that'll make your Valentine's Day date want to cuddle all night.

Bargain Home Finds For The Girl Who Loves Dopamine Decor

T.J. Maxx

11. Hearts And Kisses Set Of 2 Heart Shaped Dessert Dishes, $10

Stranger Things fans have one thing in common: we love Steve Harrington, played by Joe Keery. (Well, that and we'd give anything to bring Eddie Munson back). Despite the insane life or death situations the characters go through every single episode, the hit Netflix show is notorious for keeping all its main characters alive.

Even though that means we don't have to mourn our faves, some fans also think it lowers the stakes. Well, as we near Stranger Things 5, the final installment, fans have been terrified that we'll see Steve sacrifice himself for best friends Dustin (Gaten Matarrazzo) and Robin (Maya Hawke) or for Nancy (Natalia Dyer), who he definitely has unresolved feelings for. But there's one Stranger Things spoiler that could give us all the info we need.

This huge Stranger Things 5 spoiler could confirm Steve Harrington's fate.

The latest 'Stranger Things 5' leak appears to bring Steve Harrington into the '90s.

TikTok · stversse

We know that Stranger Things 5 will open in the fall of 1987 — and based on another recent leak, it's also bringing us into 1989. That means the epilogue will probably features tons of '90s vibes! And the latest Stranger Things spoiler shows off Steve Harrington in a VERY 1990s outfit. So this means he could make it out of the finale after all!!!

Steve fans have been worried for years that he'd die in a finale, whether it be because of the Russian torturers in season 3 or in Vecna's house in season 4. But this single photo has given fans a ton of hope. And they've already run with it. "steve survives oh we won," on TikTok user says in the comments of a slideshow. "90s Steve Harrington has just made me like Steve even more dear lord," another comment says.

The slideshow also shows off what appears to be a college-aged Dustin. "DUSTIN HAS EDDIE'S BAT TATTOOS," a third comment reads. Yep that's right — you get a glimpse of Dustin's new ink, which is totally a nod to Eddie, who sacrificed himself in season 4 to a bunch of demon bats (and I'm still not over it).

Dustin and Steve are my absolute favorite relationship in the show, and after some ups and downs in their brotherly relationship, I'm so excited that it seems like they'll both make it out. However, I'm not feeling so confident about Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) fate after all those rumors she'll sacrifice herself to close the Upside Down. We'll have to wait to see when Stranger Things 5 comes out later this year!
