Spring cleaning is the perfect chance to refresh your home and your beauty routine. Declutter, open windows for fresh air, swap out linens, and deep clean every corner — creating a space that feels lighter and brighter so you do too.

Lately, we’ve been obsessed with water quality at home, and it’s something we don’t talk about enough. Clean water isn’t just better for drinking; it impacts everything from our laundry and appliances to our hair and skin. As we refresh our space for spring (and beyond), we’re making sure every drop — from the kitchen sink to the shower — is working in our favor. That’s where Culligan comes in.

Thirdman

From bathroom buildup to spotty dishes, Culligan’s smart water softeners reduce hard water residue and make your cleaning easier and last longer. And their most advanced reverse osmosis systems are certified to reduce 90+ contaminants in your drinking water, including lead, bacteria, chlorine, “forever chemicals,” and more.

There’s something reassuring about knowing your water is cleaner — whether you’re drinking, washing, or cleaning. We partnered with Culligan to show five easy ways to create a cleaner home this spring.

Uliana Kopanytsia on Unsplash

1. Follow the two-minute rule.

If a task takes less than two minutes (like wiping down counters or tossing laundry into the hamper), do it immediately. This small habit prevents clutter from piling up and keeps your space consistently clean.

2. Spring clean your beauty routine.

If you want a home that stays cleaner longer — and hair and skin that look and feel healthier — a water softener might be the must-have appliance you didn’t know you needed. Hard water leaves behind a stubborn residue that clings to hair follicles (hello, limp locks and frizz), fades color treatments, and contributes to dry scalp. It can also block pores and prevent the natural oils from reaching the skin's surface, leading to irritation, dryness, and even flare-ups for those with sensitive skin.

3. Purify your air naturally.

We need clear air just as much as we need clean water. Swap artificial air fresheners for houseplants like peace lilies or snake plants, which help filter toxins. You can also boil lemon peels and rosemary in a pot of water on the stove to release natural antibacterial properties into the air.

Rachel Claire

Protect your appliances from the inside out.

Run a cleaning cycle with a cup of white vinegar in your dishwasher or washing machine to break down limescale and mineral buildup, which can shorten the lifespan of your appliances and lead to costly repairs. For long-term protection, consider installing a water softener. Culligan water softeners remove potentially damaging minerals from your water before it reaches your faucets, and helps keep your appliances running like new (and dishes sparkling clean!).

Christian Mackie on Unsplash

DIY non-toxic cleaners.

Ditch harsh chemicals and make your own all-purpose cleaner by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water with a few drops of essential oil (like tea tree or lavender). It’s budget-friendly, eco-conscious, and safe for kids and pets.

Culligan

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a hassle — especially when you start with cleaner, safer water. Take one thing off your to-do list by scheduling a free consultation with Culligan. Their experts will test your water and offer personalized recommendations tailored to your home and your needs — no guesswork, no stress. And you’ll have cleaner water every day without lifting a finger.

Planning a bathroom renovation? You're in luck because you haven’t committed to any trends that are headed for a 2025 exit. Home design trends typically have a shelf life of about a decade, which aligns perfectly with the timeline for refreshing your space — especially if you're planning to upgrade for resale value. In 2025, staples like white subway tile, black-and-white farmhouse vibes, and ultra-modern frameless mirrors are making their grand exit, and good riddance. Taking their place are organic, earthy shapes and tones, bringing a warm, natural touch to modern bathroom design.

Terry Magallanes

1. Black & White Farmhouse

What to do instead: Over the past decade, this stark look dominated bathrooms, but it’s time to bring in some warmth and personality. The latest bathroom trends focus on natural materials like wood, stone, and linen, paired with earthy tones such as rich browns, deep greens, and soft rosy hues to create a cozy, inviting space. If you’re still drawn to the modern farmhouse aesthetic, give it a fresh update by incorporating vintage art and unfinished brass accents — subtle nods to the past with a modern, elevated twist.

Quark Studio

2. Frameless Mirrors

What to do instead: Framed mirrors add character and tie into your bathroom's aesthetic. Organic oval shapes, art deco-inspired curves, and frames made from materials like wood and brass, even blending the frame color into the wall's paint color, are becoming popular choices.

Vecislavas Popa

3. Carrara White Marble

What to do instead: This overdone material can look overly sterile, especially when it takes over a bathroom like this one. Instead, add earthy elements like artisanal zellige-style tiles from places like Zia Tile and Fireclay Tile, as well as unique marbles in jewel tones like red jasper.

Cottonbro Studio

4. Ornate Fixtures

What to do instead: An antique piece or two can add character and charm to a bathroom. This space feels overwhelmed by too many vintage elements and lacks sophistication. Instead, opt for clean-lined fixtures in matte black or brushed brass, pair them with natural stone countertops, and select a mirror and lighting with a more refined, architectural design.

Curtis Adams

5. Jacuzzi Tubs (And This Glass Block Window)

What to do instead: Freestanding tubs or spacious showers with a steam feature offer a more elegant and modern alternative to bulky jacuzzi tubs, which not only hog space but are also notoriously difficult to clean. The glass block window dates the bathroom's design even more. For a fresher, more open feel, enjoy the view and bring in natural light with a clear glass window if privacy isn’t a concern.

William LeMond

6. Tile Explosion

What to do instead: Give your bathroom a breather with some bare walls for a modern look. Combine tiles you love with painted walls, wood paneling, or textured finishes, and use them strategically, like in the shower or as a backsplash.

Sanibell BV

7. Vessel Sinks

What to do instead: Vessel sinks are leaving the trend sphere in 2025. (I'm also not a fan of pedestal sinks). Instead, opt for integrated sinks in stone or concrete for a seamless look, or choose under-mount sinks with a quartz or earth-toned marble countertop.

Phil Hearing

8. Generic Overhead Lighting

What to do instead: The classic "boob lights" and generic ceiling mounts often seen in rentals are overstaying their welcome. Instead, elevate your space with softer, layered lighting or modern sconces that provide a warm, flattering glow.

99.films

9. Traditional Bath Mats

What to do instead: Washable rugs made from natural wool or cotton are emerging as decor statement in bathrooms, offering unique colors and eye-catching prints. If you're partial to a traditional bathmat, consider keeping it tucked away until you need it, rather than displaying it, to keep your bath from feeling outdated.

Jon Stebbe

10. White Subway Tile

What to do instead: White subway tile in traditional brick or herringbone patterns are on their way out. They're overdone and a bit sterile. Shades like sage green, dusty pink, warm clay, or earthy tones can make the space feel more welcoming.

Point3D Commercial Imaging Ltd.

11. Faux Wood Tile

What to do instead: Anything pretending to be what it's not is out for 2025. Faux wood tile or vinyl can make your home look cheap and outdated. Instead, choose natural stones, porcelain, and cement tiles, or go for an actual wood flooring that is protected for moisture.

Jean van der Meulen

12. Overly Themed

What to do instead: Avoid being too gimmicky in your bathroom decor with a theme like beach, western, or industrial. Draw inspiration from nature, use organic materials like natural stone, and incorporate greenery with potted plants. Here's inspiration for a coastal home if you're into the beach vibes!

We're still waiting to hear if Ayo Edebiri will lead an Emily Henry movie (fingers crossed!) but we did just get confirmation Ayo's finally starring in a rom-com! (Alongside Will Sharpe hello!) But following in the footsteps of Netflix's Nobody Wants This and Running Point, the AppleTV+ project, called Prodigies will be a multi-episodic TV show. Keep reading for everything we know about the upcoming show.

Here's what you need to know about Ayo Edebiri and Will Sharpe's Prodigies, coming to AppleTV+ soon.

What is Prodigies about?

Prodigies follows Didi (Ayo Edebiri) and Renn (Will Sharpe), two former child prodigies who are trying to deal with their seemingly ordinary life in their early 30s — and their long-term relationship. And as the official synopsis reads, "As individual hopes and needs feed into and conflict with their shared lives, the series challenges the fallacy at the heart of romantic storytelling — that the tale is over when the heroes get together. In life, surely, that is just the beginning?"

Where can I watch Prodigies?

The show will be on Apple TV+, but stay tuned for an official Prodigies release date. Hopefully we'll see new episodes in 2026!

How many episodes will Prodigies have?

Prodigies will have seven episodes total. Stay tuned for the official release schedule and episode titles.

For starters, the main cast members, Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte, are all definitely making a comeback. Other returning cast members include Sarita Choudhury as Seema, Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa, and John Corbett as Aidan.

There will be some departures, too. Most notably, Sara Ramirez, who portrayed comedian Chez Diaz, and Karen Pittman, who took on the role of Professor Nya Wallace. But don't worry, because there will be two new exciting faces showing up on your screen.

First is Patti Lupone, the Tony award-winning actress and singer. According to Michael Patrick King, she will "have a story arc" in Season 3. Next is comedian Rosie O'Donnell, whose character is named Mary. It's unclear how many episodes Rosie will be appearing in, but back in May, she shared a photo on Instagram of the script for one episode entitled "Outlook Good."

Fans can look forward to seeing additional newcomers like Cheri Oteri, Jonathan Cake, Mehcad Brooks, Kristen Schaal, and Logan Marshall-Green.

Now, to answer the most long-awaited question: sadly, Kim Cattrall, who played the iconic Samantha Jones, will not be showing up in the third season. Fans might've gotten their hopes up after she returned for one scene during the Season 2 finale, but she's confirmed that she won't be appearing in the latest season.
