10 of the Biggest Bridal Trends for 2015

After getting a look at Bridal Market 2015, we know one thing: there’s a LOT to look forward to coming down the aisle next year. Whether it’s the roaring ’20s, an invasion of crop tops (you read that right) or a look taken right off of the big screen, we’ve spotted the noteworthy details that are sure to be seen on brides next year.

For a twist on long sleeves, be prepared to see covered arms paired with bare shoulders next fall. These designs from Marchesa, Inbal and Oscar de la Renta create a neckline so gorgeous there’s no need for jewelry on the big day.

1. Marchesa: With a lace overlay and a 3/4 sleeve, there’s no doubt this will fit into any fall wedding.

2. Inbal Dror: This gown has the right balance of sophistication and sex appeal.

3. Oscar de la Renta: A red carpet favorite. Brides will have a A-list moment in this off-the-shoulder gown.

Color Your Bridal-World

Painterly pastels and metallics are hot for wedding reception decor, and designers have taken note. Look to Hayley Paige’s, Monique Lhuillier’s and Sareh Nouri’s new lines to see how they’re incorporating brides’ favorite fixtures into their dresses.

1. Hayley Paige: A sherbet colored gown with a hint of metallic that will surely make a statement — yup, that’s exactly what you were going for.

2. Monique Lhullier: This beautifully embellished gown stands out in a shade that’s somewhere between lavender and pink.

3. Johanna Johnson: Pastel is the new ivory, and Australian designer Johanna Johnson’s latest collection is full-on color.

The Angelina Slit

Angelina makes a statement, not only as a bride but also on the red carpet. Her thigh-high slit has found its way into fall bridal collections. No matter if you pick a gown from Reem Acra, Pamela Roland or Badgley Mischka, you’ll be feeling like an A-lister when you strut down the aisle.

1. Reem Acra: A simpler gown shape works perfectly with a thigh split as high as this one.

2. Pamella Roland: Opting for sleeves when you’re choosing to show off this much leg leaves just enough to the imagination.

3. Badgley Mischka: There’s nothing wrong with wanting a slit but going about it with a little extra modesty. “Conservative slit” is the best way to describe this cap-sleeve gown.

Bringing Sexy Back

Bridal boot camps are going to be all about sculpting your backside next year. Be prepared to work it! Low backs, keyholes and illusion netting are on their way! The temps might be cooling down but the gowns are oh-so hot.

1. Pnina Tornai: There’s nothing more perfect for a wedding day than a wedding gown with a heart-shaped keyhole back.

2. Ines Di Santo: Besides a totally gorgeous back, can we talk about those illusion sleeves? So great. So, so great.

3. Temperley London: Who says it’s all about the entrance? Temperly London does it again, and this gown will keep guests ooing and aahing as you walk away.

Ballerina Baby

The classic wedding gown gets an ethereal upgrade with added layers of tulle and silk. These gowns could just as easily be paired with a pointe shoes, a man in tights and a pas de deux.

1. Marchesa: With a tulle so light, it’s as if you’re floating down the aisle — this is the ultimate in ballroom gowns.

2. Rivini: This gown has a lot going on, and it’s hitting all the high points — A-line skirt, high-low hemline and a bit of illusion, all wrapped up in a whole lotta creative layering.

3. Amsale: With a shorter chiffon overlay, this gown is reminiscent of a Swan Lake princess.

Crop Tops + Cut Outs

If you thought the bridal industry was safe from the crop top, then be prepared for a very surprising fall wedding season. Midriff-baring two-piece dresses added some heat to the runway at Reem Acra and Theia shows. And if you want to show some skin other than your midriff, rest assured that you’ll have plenty of cutout options thanks to Pnina Tornai for Kleinfeld.

1. Theia: The goddess Theia’s power was the gift of light, and this gown truly sheds light on the modern bride.

2. Pnina Tornai: Known for her super-sexy designs, Pnina doesn’t disappoint with this high-neck, side-illusion sheath gown.

3. Reem Acra: Who says crops are only for ready-to-wear? Reem shows brides you can wear this trend and still be sophisticated.

Plunging Neckline

It’s not just about bringing sexy back! Brides are loving the deep V, and so are the designers. These looks are right for brides who love to show a little (or a lot) of decolletage.

1. Dennis Basso: With beautiful embellishments, this gown’s wow-factor comes from the V… um… and the pockets!

2. Rivini: Want to make sure nothing comes flying out at your wedding dance? Set yourself up with a narrow deep-V paired with some illusion netting.

Short Story

We were all blown away by Olivia Palermo’s bold move to wear shorts under her Carolina Herrera skirt and show off her legs. This look might not be for everyone, but showing your stems down the aisle is definitely on trend.

1. Mark Zunino: Take one twirl in this gown, and you’ll never want to stop!

2. Vera Wang: Looking to party the night away? This Vera dress is a great option for a reception.

3. Anne Barge: Party in the front and drama in the back, a high-low gown is great for any season.

Roaring ’20s

After seeing Mrs. George Clooney in a flapper-inspired gown, designers thought, “Welp, it’s time to devote collections to the roaring ’20s.” With heavy embellishments and fringing, these gowns are perfect for the cooler months.

1. Claire Pettibone: Let’s be real. Claire Pettibone knows that 1920s style is always in fashion in wedding world. Year after year she proves it.

2. Naeem Khan: Finally — a wedding dress you might wear again after your wedding. This short flapper number will really sparkle on the dance floor.

3. Karen Willis Holmes: Australian designer Karen Willis Holmes is a master when it comes to mixing delicate textures on a dress. Behold, a masterpiece.

Frozen Inspired

We just will NOT let it go. We love Frozen too much, and we want it in every aspect of our life and immortalized in our wedding day pictures. Alfred Angelo collaborated with Disney to create a Frozen-inspired wedding gown, and next year, brides will be embracing their inner Princess Elsa with looks that will melt the hearts of wedding guests and, of course, their grooms.

1. Alfred Angelo: This dress design was approved by Disney, so we can only assume that it is indeed exactly what Elsa would wear on her wedding day. And now, you can wear it on yours.

2. Mark Zunino: The inspiration for Mark’s 2015 collection was water. And the beading on this sheath gown looks like snow falling from the sky.

3. Kenneth Pool: A gorgeous beaded pattern will wow your groom and unfreeze any heart.

LOL, Kevin Costner Just Made The Wildest 'Yellowstone' Comment

Yellowstone season 5B is here! Twisters might have been THE summer movie of 2024, but the western vibes aren't going away, even after the Glen Powell movie has left theaters. The second half of Yellowstone season 5 returned to Paramount November 10 and it did not disappoint. 16.4 million viewers tuned into the premiere over a variety of networks — making it the most-watched season premiere in the show's history.

And it's a major season for one very specific reason: Kevin Costner isn't returning as John Dutton. The star decided to exit the series after season 5's eighth episode premiered in January 2023, but as big of a change is this is, Costner is still an executive producer on the series, giving it a familiarity fans will appreciate.

Yellowstone has always been dramatic, but in the Yellowstone season 5 first look, you can just feel the tension from fan favorites like Beth Dutton, Monica Long, and Kayce Dutton. And no wonder: the Duttons' family drama is coming to a head, and it looks like someone might not make it out alive. What happened on the finale of Yellowstone?

Yellowstone season 5 had two major themes: save the ranch and avenge John Dutton's death. And the Yellowstone finale saw both of those things happen in their own way. Kayce sells the property to High Chief Thomas Rainwater at $1.25 an acre (the price when his ancestors took it) on two conditions: his family stays in their home, and the land will never be developed or sold to anyone else.

And after John's funeral (where Beth literally tells his casket she'll avenge him), Beth runs off to Jamie's house, gets into a brutal fight, and stabs him in the heart before moving to start a peaceful (?) new life in Dillon, Montana with Rip. I guess all's well that ends well?

Is this the last season of Yellowstone?

It's always hard to say goodbye to a beloved show, but despite reports that Yellowstone would end with season 5, it looks like we could be getting a Yellowstone season 6 after all. Deadline confirmed that negotiations are happening for a potential continuation, which would focus on Kelly Reilly's Beth and Cole Hauser's Rip.

Reilly told Entertainment Weekly ahead of the season 5 premiere that "Beth is more like a wild animal this season than ever. When I read the scripts, it made me think [that] she is, for the first time, maybe afraid she will lose it for [her dad]."

"It's dark, brutal and desperate stuff — gaining power, losing it, defending and fighting," she continues. "It's bloody and at times beautiful in how it breaks them into their core selves." The setup for a potential season 6 will totally depend on how season 5 ends — and how it affects Beth, Rip, and the rest of the family.

Is Kevin Costner in Yellowstone season 5 part 2?

No Kevin Costner is not in the second half of Yellowstone season 5, and we find out the fate of his character John Dutton immediately. When Beth and Kayce find John dead in the bathroom, Beth immediately suspects foul play and blames it on Jamie. Well, Kevin is finally speaking on his character's end, and told The Michael Smerconish Programon November 11 that he actually didn't know the show had premiered the night before.

“I’m going to be perfectly honest. I didn’t know it was actually airing last night,” he says. “That’s a swear-to-God moment. I’ve been seeing ads with my face all over the place and I’m thinking, ‘Gee, I’m not in that one.’ But I didn’t realize yesterday was the thing...I heard it’s a suicide, so that doesn’t make me want to rush to go see it.”

But even if Kevin isn't over the moon about watching his character die, he doesn't have any bad blood with the writers. “They’re pretty smart people,” he continues. “Maybe it’s a red herring. Who knows? They’re very good. And they’ll figure that out.”

Well, the actor told Entertainment Tonight that he STILL hasn't seen the season 5 premiere as of November 17. “I didn’t watch it, so I don’t really have any thoughts about it,” he said. Due to delays from the writer's strike, and a tug-of-war between Paramount saying Kevin couldn't film new episodes and Kevin saying creator Taylor Sheridan took too long to write the scripts, the actor chose to leave the series, reportedly in part to promote his Horizon movie franchise.

“I gave this thing five seasons,” the actor told The Hollywood Reporterthis summer. “I was really happy to do it. And I don’t need drama. So, let’s just take that drama away, let’s take the guessing [away]. The fans have been way too good to me. And my obligation is to go on and continue to make things that mean something to them.”

The series introduced us to the Duttons, a powerful family in charge of America's biggest contiguous cattle ranch. Every season has been gritty and powerful, and in the fifth season, we've seen John become Montana's governor and make Beth his chief of staff. But with Jamie trying to take the power away from his dad, the Duttons are fighting each other like we've never seen — especially when Jamie and Beth start considering how to get away with murder.

Luke Grimes recently told Entertainment Weekly how pleased he is with the finale, and Kelly Reilly revealed creator Taylor Sheridan actually told her the ending to the series while they filmed season 1.

“I read the last episode the day before we started filming,” Luke says. “I couldn't be happier. I think it's a perfect ending for the show for every character. It's just a testament to what a good writer Taylor is, and it's a very, very profound, beautiful ending. I can't wait to sit down and watch it one day.”

I'd consider myself a hot chocolate connoisseur. I've sipped rich and decadent drinks at Colonial Williamsburg, whipped up a homemade recipe for Christmas parties, and sampled my fair share of instant hot cocoa packets. So I was shocked when the Whole Foods Hot Chocolate ended up being one of my favorite cocoa options of all time — for only $2 a cup! The hot chocolate offers a smoother, richer taste than other instant cocoas I've tried, and it really offers a bang for your buck.

The Whole Foods hot chocolate (officially named Organic Milk Chocolate Flavor Mix Hot Cocoa Mix. Fancy!) is from the 365 by Whole Foods Market brand, and features 10 packets in a single box. Not only does that mean it's $2 a cup, but it's also easier than ever to whip up a late night beverage. My favorite thing ever is curling up with hot cocoa and a book or TV show in bed!

Instead of a pot or saucepan, all you need is a mug and a microwave. Just heat up your water or milk and mix a packet in! I'm pretty bougie when it comes to hot chocolate, and use equal parts water and soy milk, then add a splash of eggnog. Trust me, it makes the cocoa even richer and more flavorful than it was before.

The hot cocoa packets include organic cane sugar, organic nonfat dry milk, organic cocoa powder, and some sea salt among other ingredients.

One Amazon reviewer says this product is "such a treat," and that it "dissolves without any issue," which is a huge challenge when talking about instant cocoa. "You can control how much of the flavor you want which we like since you just scoop it into your cup from the container," they continue. "Good size for the price. Container seems to last a while too."

"I'm a REALLY PICKY hot chocolate lover," another Amazon review says. "This is good stuff. It blends perfectly and tastes rich. I blend it 50/50 with 365 coffee and a hot cup of milk.
