Kirsten Dunst Celebrates 25 Years Of 'Bring It On' — Plus What The Rest Of The Cast Is Up To Now

kirsten dunst bring it on

Once we saw her in Jumanji, we knew actress Kirsten Dunst would make us proud — especially as Torrance Shipman in the iconic cheer movie, Bring It On. She had us shouting, "Brrr, it's cold in here! There must be some Toros in the atmosphere" during recess...and now, if we're being honest! But, she wasn't the only person we had our eyes on.

There were so many '90s it girls who made an appearance in the movie that we couldn't help but wonder what the Bring It On cast has been up to since the movie premiered in 2000. Sigh...yes, it's been 25 years since Bring It On hit the big screen. ANYWAY, here's what your fave cheerleaders have been up to over the last two decades!

Kirsten Dunst — Torrance Shipman

Cinespia

Kirsten Dunst made us believe that "cheer is life" with her portrayal of Torrance Shipman in Bring It On, but her acting credits didn't end there. She went on to star in the earlier Spiderman franchises, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Marie Antoinette, Hidden Figures, and more! During a video interview with Variety, she fondly talked about starring in Bring It On.

She said, "We did extensive dance rehearsal which I loved. I was a cheerleader in 8th grade — that's why I did the movie." Although she was a base in middle school, she got to do a little bit of flying in the movie. She was nervous because her best friend broke her arm doing so, but it seems everything turned out just fine! The best thing she said is, "That movie was a surprise to all of us — the success. We were just off in San Diego...having fun."

In another recent interview with E!, she described where she thinks Torrance Shipman would be today. "Good question. Coaching, maybe," she said with a smile.

She even crept up on fans at a special anniversary screening of Bring It On and The Virgin Suicides on August 18! She appeared at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary as part of Cinespia's Kisten Dunst Slumber Party (via Deadline) and proved she hasn't forgotten her signature cheer voice! "I’m T-T-Torrance, your captain Torrance," she shouted into the mic and was met with screams from the excited crowd. She also told them she felt "so honored" to watch the film with them and even shared a clip of her chanting along to one of the cheers from Bring It On via Instagram.

Her latest project is the film Civil War that's set to revolve around an erupting civil war in America. She plays Lee, a celebrated war photojournalist who travels to different cities to document what's going on.

Eliza Dushku — Missy Pantone

Before she was Missy Pantone in Bring It On, Eliza Dushku was in the film True Lies with Arnold Schwarznegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. She also starred in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, That 70's Show, Ugly Betty, and a slew of other movies. Although she hasn't been acting lately, she did produce Mapplethorpe in 2018 via her production company, Boston Diva Productions.

Jesse Bradford — Cliff Pantone

Did we have a crush on Jesse Bradford at one point? The correct answer is of course we did! Not only was he a part of the Bring It On cast, but he appeared in other fun teen movies like Cherry Falls with the late actress Brittany Murphy, Swimfan and Clockstoppers.

These days you can find him living his best life on Instagram.

Lindsay Sloane — Big Red

"Big Red" was played by none other than actress Lindsay Sloane. Her comedic timing has secured her spot as a comedian who's appeared in Nancy Drew, The Other Guys, and Horrible Bosses 1 and 2. Her last occurring role was as Judy on the updated version of The Wonder Years.

Gabrielle Union-Wade — Isis

Gabrielle Union-Wade has had a long acting career and has appeared in some of favorite coming-of-age movies. From being a part of the Bring It On cast to playing the lead character in Being Mary Jane, she's done more than make her mark in the entertainment industry. When she's not busy with family life, it's not unusual to see the actress secure brand partnerships.

Gabrielle's most recent appearance was at the 55th NAACP Image Awards with her husband Dwyane Wade on March 16.

Shamari Devoe — Lava

Shamari Devoe was one of Isis' right-hand girls in Bring It On, but she mostly known being the lead vocalist of former R&B group Blaque. She briefly appeared on season 11 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but Yahoo reports she decided to part ways with the reality TV show.

She's married to Ronnie Devoe, a member of the R&B group New Edition, and they've appeared on Seasons 2 and 3 of Couples Retreat.

Natina Reed — Jenelope

Natina Reed was also among the Bring It On cast and was known for her melodic rapping in the girl group Blaque. However, she passed away in 2012 after being hit by a car. The Hollywood Reporter says she was attempting to cross the street.

Clare Kramer — Courtney

Image via Brendon Thorne/Getty Images

Clare Kramer may have played "Courtney" in Bring It On, but she was also known for playing the villain Glory on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She also was a part of the Sabrina, the Teenage Witch cast! Her last role was Ms. Persephone in a movie called The Dead Ones.

Huntley Ritter — Les

Image via Stephen Shugerman/Getty Images

Ah, good ole Les! We can't forget his memorable character in Bring It On. However, he's also had a role in The Wedding Planner and We Are Marshall. Nowadays, Huntley is the Co-President/CCO of STFRD (Strafford), marketing company based out California.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Justin Baldoni (and his legal team) released footage from the It Ends With Us set. The video notes that this is in an attempt to "refute" Blake Lively's claims of sexual harassment against Justin in her lawsuit. Justin and his team claim, "The scene in question was designed to show the two characters falling in love and longing to be close to one another. Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism."

Since Justin put it out there, I gave it a watch to decide for myself what's really going on during these takes. Here's what I thought.

Here's what's going on in that Justin Baldoni & Blake LivelyIt Ends With Us video:

www.youtube.com

- YouTube
  • I immediately wish I had context for his direction of the scene past the screenplay notes. "Slow dance" and "completely in their own world" don't indicate any kissing other other similar intimate acts. If I knew what he said beforehand, it could be helpful to grasp the expectations of the scene, but that's cut out and we're dropped in the middle of filming this scene.
  • With that in mind, when Justin went in to seemingly kiss Blake during filming — and she doesn't reciprocate — it feels awkward. They're talking all throughout filming about what's going on around them, what they're doing, and whatnot, so why wouldn't he tell her ahead of time that he plans to kiss her? (Or better yet, ASK if he could kiss her)
  • When Blake suggests that they never actually kiss so they don't "give them [the audience] what they want," it feels like her setting a clear boundary. Lines can seem blurry when you're acting, so it's definitely important to understand boundaries when you're working with another actor in more intimate scenes.
  • Blake often dances away from Justin, giggling as she dodges his advances.
  • Then Justin starts going towards her neck — again, not directing that he's doing that or asking. I'll give him that he says, "Let's see this," the second time, and she willingly moves her hair for him there. But that seems to be the only real time he shares before he acts intimately in this scene.
  • Blake is friendly and laughing throughout the filming, but IMO that's on professionalism. He may be the director, but this is clearly a passion project for her that she takes a lot of pride in. Who among us hasn't smiled, giggled, and comforted someone else who was actually making us feel uncomfortable to get out of an awkward situation — especially in a work setting!
  • The conversation comparing their spouses feels forced. IDK it's just really awkward. You don't have to draw from your personal life to act out a scene.
  • "That's why we hired Jenny Slate — our noses match," may be a joke, but feels belittling. Jenny was really good in this movie, and she was clearly hired for more than her looks.
  • The continued neck activity and then saying her spray tan "smells good" is just so uncomfortable.
  • Why aren't there subtitles for the last section of this video? You can subtly hear some contention about "directing this," but there's not clearly outlined dialogue there. What was being said?

In response to the video, Blake's legal team told ET:

Justin Baldoni and his lawyer may hope that this latest stunt will get ahead of the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning. Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint. The video shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking with her out of character. Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy coordinator present. Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, but the director, the head of studio and Ms. Lively’s boss.

The video shows Ms. Lively leaning away and repeatedly asking for the characters to just talk. Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort. They will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent.

This matter is in active litigation in federal court. Releasing this video to the media, rather than presenting it as evidence in court, is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public. It is also a continuation of their harassment and retaliatory campaign. While they are focused on misleading media narratives, we are focused on the legal process. We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts.

So what do you think? Does this video prove Blake lied about those sexual harassment claims? Or does it prove exactly what she was trying to address?

When I opened my Instagram feed and saw a picture of Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal together again, my first reaction was "AH!" — especially since they're sitting on a couch, just like they do at the end of When Harry Met Sally. Not to mention the fact Billy's wearing a pullover very similar to his iconic cable knit sweater in the rom-com. The duo announced they're reuniting for a special surprise and fans are convinced there's only one thing that surprise could be: a 2025 Super Bowl commercial.

Here's everything we know about Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal's When Harry Met Sally reunion.

Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal made a joint Instagram post on January 22 teasing a big surprise. "It’s finally happening, we’re reuniting for something iconic," Meg says in the caption. "Can’t wait to show you all soon 💙."

My favorite thing about the post (aside from the surprise, obviously) is the fact that Meg and Billy are in outfits their When Harry Met Sally characters would totally approve of. Meg's blazer and button down and Billy's white cable knit sweater? Say no more!

Now we're sure to find out what this surprise is soon, but that hasn't stopped fans from making a lot of guesses.

"I bet it’s a Super Bowl ad ❤️," one user comments, while another agrees, "I need a sequel (but I’m thinking it’s a Super Bowl commercial?)."

Although a third comment totally summarizes how I'm feeling: "IT’S HAPPENING OH MY GOD EVERYONE REMAIN CALM."

The last time we saw Meg Ryan onscreen, it was for her latest rom-com What Happens Later. The movie follows two exes who spend a night of adventure together when they're stranded at an airport.

“It’s a different story than when you’re in your 20s,” Meg told Glamour. “I wanted to make something beautiful and offer a new way of thinking about what love is.”

And this new movie connects to her other films, like When Harry Met Sally, because “whatever was happening, they were destined to find one another," she continues. "There’s a comfort in the kismet and the idea of an inevitable connection. It’s a wonderland idea. It’s an enchanted idea.”

And old school media lovers are living large because this isn't the only reunion we've gotten lately! At the beginning of December, Gilmore Girls fans were in for a treat when Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson reunited as Luke and Lorelai for a Walmart commercial (alongside Sean Gunn as Kirk, naturally).

The commercial features Luke and Lorelai standing in Luke's diner talking all things "coffee coffee coffee," with Luke in his signature flannel and Lor wearing a sherpa jacket she'd be all over in 2025.

It all started when Lauren Graham teased the collab on Instagram, saying she had "something brewing." And Scott's post that he was "back at #LukesDiner for something really special," fans picked up on it. "KING LUKE WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?!?" one user commented. "I’m ready for whatever this is ☕️ 😍," a second added.

There are few things in our daily lives as horrifying as a first date with a stranger. Usually, the best case scenario is you show up to an agreed meeting place, hit it off, want to go out again, and maybe even fall in love. That is, assuming you're not getting catfished and they're not a crazy person. Well, in Meghann Fahy's new thriller, she finds herself on the perfect first date that takes a turn for the terrifying when an anonymous stranger starts tormenting her...and then instructs her to kill her date. Now the question remains: will she follow through, or will this would-be couple make it to dessert?

Here's everything know about Drop, starring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar.

Watch 'The Drop' trailer now!

The first thing I have to call out about The Drop trailer is that Brandon Sklenar just keeps getting cuter. How is this possible?! He and Meghann Fahy have chemistry the moment he steps onscreen which makes this whole movie concept — you know, that Meghann's character is told she has to kill him — even more intriguing. And Sabrina Carpenter playing in the background? An inspired choice.

I want to believe that both Violet and Henry make it out of the story alive...but things aren't looking too hopeful for either of them.

What is the movie Drop about?

He's handsome and charismatic, and she's enjoying their time together — until an unknown number starts dropping anonymous instructions to her phone. The poster for Drop definitely gets my adrenaline pumping — and I love Meghann Fahy's glam eyeshadow & manicure paired with the terror in her eyes. Because, duh, of course this Emmy-nominted actress can act with her eyes like nobody's business. And the bold red of the graphic design? Chef's kiss.
