Go Behind the Scenes at the New Brit + Co. Office!

When it comes to the workplace, it should come as no surprise that we’re all about adding unexpected pops of color and inspiration any way we can. And, our office is no exception! It’s been almost a year since we moved into our Union Square digs, and we’re excited to share a few behind the scenes snippets of how we’ve transformed the space.

The first couple weeks looked a lot like this. But slowly and surely, we’ve turned this office into a physical manifestation of our brand. Here are 12 ways we did it!

1. Crazy Awesome Ceiling Installation: To infuse the entire space with a blast of color, we installed an installation of dozens upon dozens of colorful square lanterns.

Custom Carpets

We teamed up with the folks at FLOR to create custom carpeting for our entire office. Along the walkway as you enter we’ve got multi-colored plus signs. In the conference room, we’ve got a sort of pixelated design featuring colorful squares scattered throughout.

Live Creatively Nail Art

You know we love nail art! We created this sign to hang above the content team’s desk to keep us inspired, creative and to remember the value of a weekend ;) Learn how to make this very sign right here.

Air Plant Installation

Remember that time we got super into Air Plant Wall Art? What you don’t know is that the whole team was involved! Each Brit + Co. staffer created their own piece of air plant wall art, and we installed it in our reception area. So fun!

Custom Blinds

Since we’re on street level, we wanted our store front to make a statement. The answer? Custom printed window shades, ordered from Orangepiel.

Colorful Lighting

“Did I stumble into some bad lighting?” Never, if you’re hanging out here! ;) Thanks to Lamps Plus for hooking us up with these awesome pendant lamps.

Techie Prints

We hit up Society6 to find a collection of prints and came across this awesome artist, Gianmarco Magnani. We picked a collection of techie prints including drawings of a camera, video camera, cassette and typewriter.

Brand New Kitchen

When we arrived on Sutter Street, we were totally without a kitchen! So, we teamed up with GE Appliances to get the most up-to-date appliances and with Lowe’s to source a farm-inspired sink. It’s definitely where some super magical cakes happen.

We found this mirror on Fab and immediately fell in love. It’s officially called “Looking Good” and we have to agree ;)

11 Fleece Jackets I’m Shopping To Brave The Freezing Temps

If you were to ask me about Denver winter, I’d say it’s alright. But if you really asked me about Denver winter, I’d say it makes me want to shrivel up in hibernation and abstain from the outdoors until the temperatures hit the mid-50’s again. I’m not joking when I say my city gets devastatingly cold – we’re likely to see temps in the tens and even sub-zero days once December and January hit. That’s why I’m prepping for the freeze now, with plenty of cozy winter layers, beanies, and of course, fleece jackets. Fleece jackets are an easy one-and-done piece to put on that isn’t a bulky winter parka, since they effectively insulate my body heat. With your commanding presence and dominating personality, you need decor that's just as domineering — and maybe even just the slightest bit intimidating. Pick out the biggest desk you can get and a plush leather chair to capture that ambience of control.

But don't forget to allow your sensitive side out once and awhile, too. A few gentle touches, like a photo of your dog displayed on one of your shelves, will go a long way to humanize you to your fellow teammates.

In an essay for Drew & Jonathan, Jonathan Scott talks about buying a home with the actress.

"It sat on a little over an acre, and with its lush lawn and massive California sycamores, it looked like a park. Which is why when we first brought the kids by the property they dubbed it the Park House," he says in the essay. "And you know what happens when you name something, whether it’s a mangy stray dog or a beautiful home of your dreams? You keep it."

The couple ended up revealing photos of their renovated home on Drew & Jonthan in 2022! The balance of pattern, color, and detail is really exciting, and it gives the whole home a very balanced look.

"Forever starts now!!! 🥰♾️🥰," they captioned the Instagram post. In the photo, Zooey's holding up her left hand to show off a beautiful purple floral engagement ring. In honor of the "once in a lifetime" eclipse on April 8, 2024, Jonathan Scott posted a hilarious video teasing when and where he's marrying Zooey Deschanel with a bunch of cue cards (you know, Love, Actually style). “As the full eclipse is a ‘once in a lifetime’ moment, I wanted to take this opportunity to give you some ‘once in a lifetime’ news," the cards read. “I’ve decided to share when and where Zooey & I are getting married."

But right when he's about to show the date and time, the "eclipse" causes a shadow to fall over both Jonathan and the cue cards. He finished the video with a wink and a card that reads, “Which I know you’ll agree is perfect.”

Jonathan Scott Is Embracing Dad Duties In October 2024

Jonathan Scott is officially stepping into his dad role because he just did the cutest thing ever for Zooey Deschanel's daughter! With Halloween being two weeks away, he decided to get in the spirit by building a haunted house for her (via PEOPLE). He told the crowd at the Inc. 5000 45th Annual Conference & Gala, "We have 450 people coming over and I'm not joking. I built a full haunted house. Our daughter this year was like, she wants a real scary Halloween haunted house."

Sharing his excitement about the project, Jonathan said she was speaking his "love language" and spent time going all out for her. There's "all these animatronics," plus there's also a "bouncy and dance floor with a DJ!"

I just hope we get a glimpse of the haunted house because it sounds like fun!
