Sunny days are almost here, and that only means one thing: Wedding season will soon be in full swing! If you and your fiancé are kids at heart, perhaps you’d want to bring a little bit of that lightheartedness into your day and host your nuptials at your favorite childhood camp. There’s just something about blending the great outdoors with a few personal details and romantic vignettes that seems to make everything feel out of this world. The team behind today’s styled shoot — Anne Marie Photography behind the lens and Brandi Hines Events + Design behind the design — chose to utilize the dreamy backdrop of Camp Comfort in Comfort, Texas and filled this setting with lots of beautiful, boho wedding inspiration that will make you swoon. Scroll on to see how you can incorporate these super cute details into your own wedding day.
For the wedding stationery, Brandi Hines Events + Design and Studio 3 Eleven Press kept it modern with a minimalist design, and put a little bit of fun on the envelopes with a bright and colorful liner of feathers and arrows. The addition is not just pretty, but also pairs perfectly with the relaxing vibe.
With the goal to create a camp-styled elopement with a romantic feel, this modern-chic haven couldn’t have been more on point. If you have a similar spot that takes you back to your happiest childhood memories, go ahead and ask them if you can rent it out for the whole weekend and host your nuptials there! Plus, you can make it a fun tradition to always come back to it with your beau.
One of the easiest and most stylish ways to add a modern touch to a wedding is through the couple’s fashion. The camp was an old bowling alley and they still have some of the shoes, so instead of fancy kicks, the bride and groom rocked old-school blue and white bowling shoes for the reception. This look tied oh-so well together with the rest of the rustic details while shedding some light on the history of the camp.
The groom was dressed in J.Crew from head to toe, with a cotton boutonniere to bring in different textures. Since they were in such a unique setting, the entire team worked really hard to make sure the “country” side of things stood out. To create your own rustic boutonniere, simply grab some cotton, Texas tallow and lavender, then wrap it together with some floral tape and pretty ribbon and you’re good to go!
For the bride, dozens of featherweight layers from the BHLDN off-white strapless dress were practically begging to be swanned about. And to add a touch of sparkle to her stunning look, they added a bold J.Crew statement necklace that gave the look a whole new dimension. Talk about a simple yet totally glam bridal look.
And how killer is her textural woodland bouquet? The warm glow from assorted flowers, beautifully designed by Brandi from Brandi Hines Events + Design, made for some swoon-worthy photos. The arrangement included peonies, King Protea, yellow Ranunculus, Anemones and cotton. It just doesn’t get much better than that. If you want a similar vibe, opt for locally grown flowers. You’ll have to be flexible to what type and colors of flowers are in season, but you’ll end up with a beautiful and sustainable end result.
We’re all about the rustic vibes of this sweet table. The tablescape featured simple place settings and camping-style plates and utensils, along with some dreamy geometric glass terrariums as centerpieces that you can totally DIY. The blue hues on the table also played off the orange accents the camp already had while still giving the entire setting a hill country flare. So serene!
The cake was a naked confetti cake created by Brittany Boyd. With so many brides being into the naked cakes, there was no question that this was the route to go. This minimalist look can be dressed up or dressed down with a variety of decorations, cake toppers or even just a simple succulent like the one above.
But cake wasn’t the only sweet in the house. Lots of delicious treats like homemade pop tarts and ice cream cookie sandwiches filled the dessert table. Instead of a signature cocktail, the team created a signature hot cocoa drink with giant marshmallows to keep guests cozy all night long. If you dig this idea, set up a hot chocolate bar during the reception or afterparty for guests to make their own drink creations.
Our all time fave detail from this wedding shoot is the locally-sourced guest favors. The wedding bags were custom made and included camp merchandise for guests to remember the occasion along with a little snack for the late-night camp fires.
For the exit confetti, the team opted for a non-traditional choice: Fruity Pebbles! Yes, you read that right. This breakfast staple added lots of color to the event without leaving the big mess that usually comes with glitter and confetti. Add cute “toss me” tags like the ones created by Studio 3 Eleven Press, and voila! You have a functional and eco-friendly option.
