Next up for Makeup 101, we’re breaking down the classic cat eye. We’ll start things out with classic black, get wild and crazy with blues and purples and finish off with an earthy, more muted option.

1. Black Cat Eye
This is the most basic of cat eyes. All you need is a good liquid eye pen. Consider this your starter option :)
1. Your guide line is from the outer corner of your eye to the outer tip of your eyebrow.
2. Draw a line in that angle that stops right where your eye creases.
3. Start just below the outer tip of the line and draw a straight line to a little past the center of your eye.
4. Fill in the line.
5. Pro Tip: Tight-line the inside of your eye with any black pencil liner for extra depth.
6. Finish off with mascara.
2. Wild Child Cat Eye
Festival season called, they want their style back! But for real, this look is a must for any wild child. Low key ladies, it’ll add a fun pop of color to your spring style. Promise!
:
1. As with each look, your guide line is from the outer corner of your eye to the outer tip of your eyebrow.
2. Take any shadow and turn it into liner with this awesome two-faced shadow to liner transformer.
3. Dip the brush into water and then swirl it around in your choice of shadow.
4. We used Urban Decay Peace on the outer corner, Fishnet in the center and Ransom on the inside. Ransom is no longer available but you can probably find a similar deep shade of purple, as per the photo above.
5. Finish it off with mascara.
3. Earthy Cat Eye
Finally, this option is more muted and great for gals who want a little extra dimension but aren’t into the dramatic look.
1. Your guide line is from the outer corner of your eye to the outer tip of your eyebrow.
2. Dip the brush into water and then swirl it around in your choice of shadow. We used Naked Darkhouse, Smog and Half Baked in an ombre effect. This palette is similar to the one we used.
3. Using your darker color on the outside draw on the outer line and connect to the corner of your eye.
4. Get the next darkest color and connect towards the center of your eye.
5. For the final color, start from the inner corner and move to the outer corner slightly blending the three colors for a flawless finish!
6. Finish it off with mascara.
