10 Ways to Celebrate Your Dad This Father’s Day

There are no buts about it; fathers will always have a special place in our hearts. Whether they’re cracking corny jokes in public (something we deal with much more casually now than we did in middle school) or doing their best to intimidate potential significant others, we’ll forever admire their quirks and appreciate their protective sides. We’ve already covered the movies you should watch and gifts you should wrap, but because Father’s Day only comes around once a year, we wanted to give you a few heartfelt gestures to help you show the big guy how much you care.

1. Create a Man Cave ($87): Whether it’s a permanent addition to the house or a one-day-only retreat, give Dad the space he’s always wanted. He’ll appreciate your trendy additions some day.

2. Help Him Learn a New Skill ($50): Does DIY run in the family? Because this beer making kit is probably even more fun when you open it up together and get brewing together.

3. Make a Photobook (from $15): Collect all your favorite memories in one place, then share them together on Father’s Day. Possibly along with a tissue.

4. Help Him Rediscover His Inner Child ($34): Neon slingshots and (mostly harmless) seed bomb balls sound like the perfect combination for a celebratory afternoon a la Dennis The Menace or Calvin and Hobbes.

5. Send Him Packing ($95): A full-fledged trip in his honor or simply the gear to prepare for one of his own? This canvas weekender is useful and cool. He might even call it “hip.”

6. Kick Back and Relax ($50): It doesn’t really matter who’s muddling — the point is that, sometimes, all dad really wants from Father’s Day is the chance to sit down and savor the moment with a good drink in hand.

7. Take Over the Grill ($29): While dad’s enjoying that nice, cold beverage, it’s your turn to tackle grilling responsibilities. Not quite the grilling expert? This book can help. It’s also great for dads who tend to make charcoal-flavored food.

8. …Or Make Dad the Grill Master ($40): Because this grill set is the best. The. Best. Just like Dad.

9. Show Off that Sense of Humor ($5): He helped you learn that, too. Corny jokes and all.

10. Just Say Thanks ($6): He’s great, and today is the day to make sure he knows it. Even if we kind of wish he’d drop those intimidation tactics.

Audiences loved the way Greta Gerwig's Little Women brought all four March sisters to life, and Netflix's Anne with an E became so popular that when the show was canceled after season 3, 1.7 million fans signed a petition to revive the series. It all just proves that classic adaptations can make the original story even more powerful.

And the newest movie based on a book is going to be one we think about forever — and not just because of its cast. Emerald Fennell (who you'll recognize from The Crown and her work as writer & director on Satburn) is adapting Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights and Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are leading the cast!

The book, published in 1847, continues to grip readers, and it's become the blueprint for moody complexity — just like Emerald Fennell's Promising Young Woman, which won the Oscar for Best Screenplay thanks to its scathing look at sexual assault. Well, the Em's are coming together for this new adaptation.

Here's everything we know about Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights — and your first look at the movie.

Here's Your First Look At 'Wuthering Heights'

The first look at Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights is getting some seriously mixed reactions. The photo features a close-up image of someone (maybe Margot Robbie's) with their fingers and a few blades of grass in their mouth.

"CAN NOT WAIT," one Instagram user said, along with a couple fire emojis. But the intimate (and somewhat shocking) image also has some users asking, "what in the saltburn?"

Is Wuthering Heights going to be in theaters?

Focus Features

It appears director Emerald Fennell and producer Margot Robbie are pushing for a theatrical release, which is why they've reportedly turned down a Netflix offer of $150 million.

Despite the fact Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said theatrical releases are "just not our business," and the company has stuck to at-home streaming instead, they did break that pattern for Knives Out: Glass Onion in 2022. The movie appeared in around 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, but left a week later ahead of its December 23 debut on the streamer.

Co-CEO Reed Hastings told The Hollywood Reporter that keeping the movie in theaters could have made Netflix more money, but later said they just wanted to "break through the noise" and get movie lovers excited for the film to come to Netflix.

All that to be said, Margot Robbie (whose Barbie made over $1 billion worldwide) and Emerald Fennell (whose Promising Young Woman nabbed her an Oscar win and two other nominations) know how to capture the imaginations of movie lovers everywhere. And it could definitely be in their favor to stick to a theatrical release. Stay tuned for official news on where you can watch Wuthering Heights!

Wuthering Heights Cast

The Wuthering Heights movie will be led by Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie as Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, respectively. Margot will also produce with her production company LuckyChap, which worked behind the scenes on Emerald Fennell's Saltburn and Promising Young Woman.

While some fans were initially excited about the casting, others were concerned about the fact that in the book, Heathcliff is described as "dark skinned." He also tells Nelly that, "I wish I had light hair and a fair skin, and was dressed, and behaved as well, and had a chance of being as rich as he will be!" Um, it looks like Jacob Elordi definitely has fair skin to me.

"Heathcliff is described as a dark-skinned brown man in the book and a major plot point is that he was subjected to racist abuse by his adopted family," one tweet (which has over 8 million views) says. "But yeah sure Jacob Elordi is perfect!"

Another says, "Film studios will say 'We are committed to diverse casting' and then cast Jacob Elordi to play Heathcliff, one of the more famous people of color in literature, whose race is crucial to both his character and the story."

Check back here to see who will play characters like Edgar Linton, Nelly Dean, Isabella Linton, and Lockwood.

Wuthering Heights Plot

Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights follows the Earnshaws and the Lintons, who are living in the Yorkshire Moors in the 1880s. Their lives change forever when the Earnshaws take in Heathcliff. Like any good dramatic novel, passion lies beneath proper connections, marriages, and societal expectations — and despite Catherine and Heathcliffe's feelings for each other, they have to choose between security and love.

Lorelai Gilmore is one fictional character we know like the back of our hands. We've analyzed her relationship with Rory, why she's actually super similar to Logan, and why showing up to Chilton in cutoffs and boots was actually pretty unrealistic. But there's one detail about this beloved TV mom literally everyone talks about — and it's not actually that unrealistic. Y'all know what I'm referring to: Lorelai and Rory's constantly eating takeout.

Here's why it makes total sense that Lorelai and Rory Gilmore always eat out in Gilmore Girls.

Lorelai Gilmore probably never learned how to cook.

Warner Bros. Television

Lorelai and Rory's eating habits in Gilmore Girls have been a hot topic among fans for years. Whether it's because viewers are confused about how they afford so much takeout, or they're discussing how the mother-daughter duo stays so slim when all they consume is coffee, pizza, and burgers, for some reason, talking about the girls' food is just as popular as talking about which one of Rory's boyfriends is your favorite.

But one Reddit user points out that while they "always hated the cutesy quirky 'We can't cook. We can only survive on take out and diner food' thing," there's probably a really good chance that because Lorelai grew up in Emily and Richard's house (AKA, with a maid and a cook), "Lorelai never had to learn how to cook and could probably never cook for Rory."

"Dinner was cooked and served to Lorelai at home by a maid and when she left they lived in a shed and she had no way to cook, and then when they got their own house when she was almost 30 she had never cooked," they say. "She could've put some effort in and learned but the way Lorelai and Rory live is exactly how Emily lives just without the at home maid."

I've talked a lot about how trapped Lor felt in her life before moving to Stars Hollow, and how she probably wanted to rebel in every single area of her life. And if Emily never let her eat junk food, opting for Luke's and Al's Pancake World could be one way Lorelai proves to herself that she's truly independent.

And Stars Hollow is full of people who love her!

But it's also a way for the close-knit community of Stars Hollow to get even closer. Because if there's one thing a small town loves, it's a potluck! (Especially for a town that's constantly hosting community events. These people are literally always together). "I'm sure they ate at the Inn a lot too when Rory was younger," another Reddit user says of Lorelai's first few years in Stars Hollow. "Mia seems like the type to offer meals as a part of Lorelei's pay."

"Being best friends with Sookie would've definitely had its perks," a third offers. "She experiments a lot with her food, even outside her capacity as the inn's chef. We often see her bringing over food/leftovers."

And if Sookie's love language is cooking and she's close enough to Lorelai to know she can't cook but wants to provide for Rory, this is the perfect way for Sookie to show these gals some love. "When I was younger and started to experiment with recipes and making my own, my friends were my guinea pigs," another Reddit comment reads. "Very happy ones, too!"

I'd definitely let Sookie cook for me anytime.

Valentine’s Day is all about love, but let’s be real: some gifts just don’t say “I adore you” the way they used to! While romancenever goes out of style, it’s easy for certain Valentine’s Day gifts to feel more like a last-minute grabthan a compassionate, heartfelt expression of love.

If you want to impress your special someone this Valentine's Day, it’s time to retire these 7 “outdated” and overdone gifts that scream predictable.

Scroll on for the 7 “outdated” Valentine’s Day gifts you should definitely skip this year – and what to give instead!

The Glorious Studio / PEXELS

1. Heart-shaped jewelry

Now don’t get me wrong – heart-shaped jewelry can be super cute, but oftentimes, it can feel a little cheesy and predictable for Valentine’s Day.

Instead, consider your Valentine’s personal interests and search for some jewelry that way. Whether it’s sports, animals, or astrology, you’ll surely be able to find something that suits them more closely.

Hassan Ouajbir / PEXELS

2. Huge teddy bears

Those big teddies – or even just the cheap stuffed animals from the drugstore – are not practical whatsoever and tend to collect dust. Unless you know of a very specific plush that your Valentine's been wanting, it’s okay to skip the stuffed animals.

Picjumbo / PEXELS

3. A dozen roses

While red roses can be a romantic gesture, there are so many other flowers to consider. Roses are simply generic AF and very expected – instead, get to the bottom of what your Valentine’s favorite flower is and run with that! From lilies to mums, you could even create your own bouquet with just a little extra effort.

Ksenia Chernaya / PEXELS

4. Fake plants

The same idea goes for fake plants. Why invest in a fake plant when a real one can be so much more meaningful? This way, every time your Valentine goes to water the plant you gave them, they’ll be thinking of you. ❤️

5. Matching gifts

Matching t-shirts, mugs, socks, and the like are honestly pretty cringeworthy, unless you’re really into them. Your Valentine will definitely appreciate a unique gift a lot more this year.

Amazon

6. Cheap chocolates

Cheap chocolates are good for a last-minute gift, but if you want your gift to feel special to your Valentine, please take the extra time (and money!) to opt for a fancier box. They’ll look better and taste better.

Jill Wellington / PEXELS

7. Anything impersonal

All of this goes to say that anything impersonal makes a cliche and outdated Valentine’s Day gift. You don’t even have to go insanely above and beyond for your date this year – just a little extra consideration will definitely make them feel loved.

Classic patterns like stripes and toile, romantic silhouettes, and fancy flourishes like fringe and tassels have been beautifully making their way into interiors — and no one captures this dreamy aesthetic quite like celebrity interior designer and home stager Francesca Grace. The creative force behind Somme, a darling interior design shop located in LA’s Silverlake neighborhood, Francesca curates a world of European vintage glamour with a soulful, lived-in feel.

Find out more about the romantic design trend & get some cozy home decor inspiration below!

Gavin Carter

On a recent visit, B+C's VP of Content, Ali Ives, and I wandered into Somme and were instantly smitten. Imagine cottagecore with depth, where antique treasures meet bold, layered styling that feels both timeless and unexpected.

Francesca is a master at crafting vintage-inspired spaces with a distinct, modern POV. Here, she shares insights on her design philosophy, her latest collaborations, and her stunning transformation of a $24 million estate now on the market.

Gavin Carter

B+C: How would you define your aesthetic?

Francesca: I’d define my aesthetic as eclectic, nostalgic, and unexpected. It’s about mixing eras, textures and patterns in a way that feels curated and collected over time — like stepping into a space with history and soul.

Gavin Carter

B+C: How do you make a space feel one-of-a-kind?

Francesca: I love designing spaces that have depth and a bit of tension, whether it’s a balance of feminine and masculine, vintage and modern, or soft and bold. To make a space personal, I lean into unique, one-of-a-kind pieces — antiques, art with a story, textiles that feel lived-in. I want it to feel like someone’s life has unfolded there, not like a staged set.

Gavin Carter

B+C: What's the strangest or most surprising source of inspiration you've ever drawn from?

Francesca:I love wandering through European flea markets, where every object has a history, or getting lost in an old city and noticing the way time has shaped its architecture. Even something as simple as the tilework in a tiny café or the way laundry hangs between buildings can spark an idea. LA still influences me in the way it blends so many cultures and eras, but traveling pushes me to see design through a different lens — less polished, more lived-in, always with a story to tell.

Gavin Carter

B+C: What is your design pet-peeve?

Francesca: Anything that feels too sterile or overly "designed" with no personality. I’m also so over the idea that everything has to be beige to be timeless — give me color, give me texture, give me something with character!

Gavin Carter

B+C: You recently staged and styled a 6-bed, 9-bath Spanish-Mediterranean Bel Air Estate that just hit the market for $24M. What were your design goals for this Bel Air project, which leans into the more neutral territory?

Francesca: Our goal was to use our furniture and décor to enhance the home’s Spanish-Mediterranean elegance while introducing a sense of modern livability. We wanted every piece to feel intentional — respecting the architecture while making the space feel fresh, inviting, and effortlessly luxurious.

Will Myers

Francesca: To achieve this, I partnered with home decor brand Olive Ateliers and leaned into organic textures and warm, neutral tones. Soft linen upholstery, sculptural wood accents, and vintage-inspired statement pieces brought depth and a sense of history, ensuring the interiors felt collected rather than staged.

Will Myers

Francesca: In spaces like the living and dining areas, we focused on balancing grandeur with intimacy — placing oversized, plush seating to emphasize comfort while layering in antique and contemporary elements to create visual intrigue. The use of ceramic vessels, textured textiles, and aged metals further complemented the home’s natural materials.

Will Myers

Francesca: For the bedrooms, we aimed for elevated serenity, incorporating soft, layered bedding and curated accent furniture to create a retreat-like atmosphere.

Will Myers

Francesca: Overall, the staging was designed to bridge the past and present, celebrating the home’s timeless craftsmanship while making it feel approachable and effortless for modern living.

Christopher Amitrano/CS8 Photography

B+C: You recently worked with designer Amr Samaha of Samaha Studio on his latest project, an eco-conscious ranchette in Beverly Hills. He said he pulled heavily from his Egyptian background, citing the mashrabiya-inspired front door as an example of the textures and tones of historic Cairo. "Every decision, from materials to layout, was made with the intention to tell a cohesive story," he said. How did you stage the home to complete the story?

Francesca: For the Beverly Hills project at 1300 Shadybrook Drive, our aim was to stage the home in a way that accentuated its contemporary architecture and designer fixtures while creating an inviting and aspirational atmosphere for potential buyers.

In the living room, we placed a plush, earth-toned seating arrangement to complement the home's incredible steel fireplace and built-in cabinetry. To add a little extra warmth and character to the living room I added these gorgeous Myrtle Accent Chairs from Arhaus that I felt really elevated the space.

Christopher Amitrano/CS8 Photography

Francesca: In the dining room I wanted it to feel really funky and eclectic so we added some really fun sculptural dining chairs from Neue Maison. We brought in some incredible art by CLEW and Kader Boly that really amplify the appeal of the home.

Christopher Amitrano/CS8 Photography

Francesca: For the bedrooms, we aimed to create serene retreats by using soft, layered bedding and understated decor while still infusing some pops of color. I wanted the bedrooms to provide a sense of luxury while still feeling like cozy and warm.

Christopher Amitrano/CS8 Photography

Francesca: Throughout the home, we utilized accessories such as ceramic vases, greenery, and area rugs to add depth and cohesion to the overall design. Our goal was to present a lifestyle that potential buyers could envision themselves enjoying, thereby enhancing the home's appeal.

Jason Kelce may not play for the Philadelphia Eagles anymore, but even after retiring from the team last year, he and his wife, Kylie Kelce, have definitely remained in the spotlight. While their very successful podcasts (Not Gonna Lieand New Heights) continue to grow by the day, so does their adorable family!

Kylie and Jason first met on Tinder in 2014, and they later tied the knot in 2018. Since then, they've welcomed three kids — all girls — into the world together. The fan-favorite couple is expecting their fourth child, and people are so excited for them! However, Jason and Kylie have faced backlash for one parenting decision: how they've decided to name each of their kids. Here's the deal!

Scroll to find out the controversial baby names Jason & Kylie Kelce keep picking out!

Not Gonna Lie/Youtube

With each of their daughters, Jason and Kylie Kelce have picked pretty gender-neutral names: Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett. For their fourth, Kylie detailed how she and Jason want to keep the gender-neutral trend going – not just to ensure the name fits their latest addition but also out of fairness to their other kids.

"We're doing a little crossover action. I feel like we have to lean a bit towards those sort of gender-neutral names for our fourth because we have Wyatt, Elliotte, [and] Bennett," she explained on Not Gonna Lie.

"So if we do a full commit to a girly name at this point, it would not sit well with the other three, I think. Eventually, they'll be like, 'Why did they get a cute girly name?'"

Call Her Daddy/Youtube

Yet, given how Not Gonna Lie started in December 2024, and Jason has been hosting New Heights with his brother, Travis Kelce, since 2022, plenty of eyes have been watching the couple's every move. And according to Kylie, certain fans haven't hesitated to criticize their baby name selections.

She recently appeared on Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alex Cooper, this February and opened up about some reasons why the public tends to hate on her. Kylie revealed how she and Jason received a ton of backlash following the announcement of all three of their children's names.

"We had that situation with Wyatt; our eldest is Wyatt. People are disturbed by the fact that we've named her Wyatt," Kylie detailed.

Not Gonna Lie/Youtube

Even so, she believes her daughter is "very much a Wyatt," and anyone who meets her daughter always agrees.

Additionally, Kylie shared how, when she was pregnant with Wyatt, people told her not to share her chosen baby name or else she'd "get reactions." But she didn't let that phase her.

"I'm like, 'I don't think you understand. I really don't care at that point.' If I've chosen, we're going with it," she recalled.

In true Kylie fashion, she even quipped about how perhaps her daughters will have an easier time as professionals in the future. After all, with gender-neutral names, Kylie joked that their "emails are going to be answered so fast."

It remains to be seen what baby name Kylie and Jason will pick for their fourth. Fans may just have to wait until her due date in the summer.
