KHLOE KARDASHIAN’S VOLUMINOUS PONY BY ANDREW FITZSIMONS
For Khloe Kardashian’s January 2018 appearance on The Ellen Show, her bleach blonde locks were curled, teased, and accessorized to new heights. To help get the look, celebrity stylist Andrew Fitzsimons (on behalf of NatureLab.Tokyo) shares the step-by-step process he used. (Photo via Andrew Fitzsimons)
You’ll need:
- blow dryer
- mousse
- clip-in extensions (optional)
- curling iron
- boar bristle brush
- hair elastic or bungee
- hairspray
- texturizing mist
- hair cuff or other accessory
Instructions:
1. Rough-dry your tresses using volumizing mousse.
2. If you have thick hair, you can skip this step. If you have fine strands, consider adding extensions from your crown to the nape of your neck for added volume.
3. Divide your hair into 2-inch sections. Using a curling iron, curl each section clockwise from the roots to mid-lengths, then switch directions and curl counter-clockwise from the mid-lengths to ends. Repeat all over for a natural-looking head of curls.
4. If you aren’t using extensions, you can skip this step. If you are using extensions, clip a few to the sides of your head and curl them in the same fashion as above.
5. Using a boar bristle brush, pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic or bungee. If you are using extensions or have thick hair, Fitzsimons suggests using a bungee as it gives more support to your ponytail.
6. Spray with flexible hairspray for a hold that doesn’t feel crunchy or stiff.
7. For extra volume, lightly tease your ponytail and spritz texturizing mist throughout.
8. Finish your look with a hair cuff for, in Fitzsimons’ words, “extra slayage.”

You’ll need:
- hair elastics
Instructions:
1. Starting at your crown, create a 3-strand French braid all the way down the back of your head to the ends, and secure it with a hair elastic.
2. To create the final two strands, gently pull out two small sections of hair from each side of the main braid.
3. Divide each of those sections into three strands and weave them to the ends. Secure each smaller braid with a hair elastic.
3. Intertwine both detail braids through the main braid until you’re satisfied with how it looks. Finish with a final elastic to tie your 5-strand braid together.
HAILEE STEINFELD’S TWISTED TOP KNOT BY LAURA POLKO

You’ll need:
- leave-in conditioner
- blow dryer
- styling mousse
- paddle brush
- hair elastic or hair bungee
- bobby pins
- hairspray
Instructions:
1. Spritz leave-in conditioner throughout damp hair, focusing on your ends.
2. Rough dry using a blow dryer.
2. Once your mane is half dry, apply styling mousse for added hold.
3. Dry your hair in the direction of a ponytail. To do so, use a paddle brush and blow dryer to smooth from your hairline back to your crown, and then upwards from the nape of your neck to your crown.
4. Once completely dry, gather your strands into a ponytail and brush until smooth. “This should be easier because of the prep work,” assures Polko.
5. Tightly secure the high pony with a hair elastic or bungee.
6. Hold your ponytail straight up and twist it clockwise until the hair wraps itself into a twisted bun shape.
7. Leaving the ends out, secure with bobby pins and hairspray.
