Channing and Jenna Dewan Tatum’s Daughter Has the Most Hilarious Xmas List Ever

Looks like Channing and Jenna Dewan Tatum are gonna need to do a little last-minute Christmas shopping (might we suggest the DoneGood app?).

Their daughter, Everley, just made her official Christmas list, and let’s just say that girl has some pretty high expectations.

Princess Timberland 👸🏼

A post shared by Jenna Dewan (@jennadewan) on

This kid wants magic, and frankly? We don’t blame her (what do you expect when your dad is a merman?). We mean, what little girl doesn’t want Rapunzel and Tiana princess dresses (never mind that Everley already has this purple one and one of Belle‘s)?

But that’s not all. This list also happens to include not only glitter (for both herself and “the fairies” — don’t ask), but RAINBOW glitter — she was clearly inspired by Mom’s sparkle unicorn costume.

She also, curiously enough, has need for a lot of colorful signage. While a purple stop sign is a must (she wrote it twice, lest Santa should forget), she’s also requested a pink one for her fairy pals and a pink, white and purple one for the trees (just in case they ever DO decide to move, and too quickly at that).

Priceless 😍😂

A post shared by Jenna Dewan (@jennadewan) on

She’s not 100 on new rocks and treasures and sea animals, though — they’re only a maybe.

Which also happens to be the answer to whether or not she’s been a good girl this year. “I’ve been mostly good,” she says. What a trip!

Here’s to hoping you get more rainbow glitter and purple stop signs than you know what to do with, Everley.

Certain vintage and retro baby names have definitely made a comeback in modern times. However, some older monikers have arguably managed to stick around a bit too long.

While these names were very popular at one point, they now sound more old-fashioned than fresh and probably won't work as well on the playground anymore.

So, in our humble opinion, here are eight vintage baby names that may need to be retired once and for all.

Scroll to find out which vintage baby names we need to let go of in 2025!

1. Gertrude

Photography Maghradze PH

Gertrude is a classic name that's German in origin and means "strength of a pear."

Even though the nickname "Gertie" has a playful, vintage charm (and perhaps even reminds us of 5-year-old Drew Barrymore in "E.T."), it hasn't been enough to breathe new life into the full name, which has fallen out of favor in recent decades.

2. Ambrose

Helena Lopes

With Latin origins, Ambrose is a distinguished name that means "immortal." Yet despite it feeling both gentle and strong, many modern parents have seemingly shied away from it.

In 2023, Ambrose ranked at number 789 in U.S. baby name popularity, so its retirement may be on the horizon.

3. Ethel

Foden Nguyen

Ethel, which is English in origin, means "noble maiden" and was once widely popular, especially during the early 20th century.

At the height of its fame, Ethel Barrymore was a Broadway icon, and the name was a staple in many households. It even held a top 10 spot for 16 years and remained in the top 100 until 1939.

Nonetheless, Ethel has a vintage vibe that can sound too old and may be better suited for earlier generations.

4. Bertha

Erland Efendi

Meaning "bright" and "glorious," Bertha is a German name that was once viewed as strong, feminine, and elegant. It reached its height during the late 19th century, but today, it seems a bit outdated.

Ranked at number 8,481 in U.S. birth name popularity, it's clear that Bertha has lost much of its appeal.

5. Claude

G_Masters

Claude is a name of French Origin and has ancient Latin roots that mean "lame." While the literal translation may not be the most flattering, the name has a rich history, having been carried by numerous notable figures.

Even so, Claude has struggled to make a significant comeback. It's ranked at number 6,685 in U.S. births, meaning it's a rare choice for today's little ones.

6. Myrtle

Neide Souto

Derived from Myrtus, an evergreen shrub known for its medicinal properties used to treat respiratory ailments and skin inflammation, Myrtle is a Greek name that was first used for girls in the 1850s.

However, with its current ranking of 24,192 in U.S. births, Myrtle has definitely fallen into obscurity.

7. Chester

br prch

With English and Latin roots, Chester means "fortress," "camp," or "camp of soldiers." It was once favored for its association with strength and protection and is sometimes used as a nickname for "Rochester."

Regardless, Chester currently ranks at number 3,715 in U.S. births, showing parents are passing up this classic choice.

8. Edna

Nguyễn Quốc Thái

Finally, Edna is a name with Hebrew origins that means "rejuvenation" and "delight." With its biblical roots in the apocryphal Book of Tobit, the name carries a sense of spiritual renewal and grace.

Despite its rich meaning, Edna has become less popular in recent years, coming in at number 3,542 among U.S. births.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are definitely one of our favorite celebrity couples, but they’re also some of our favorite celeb parents. The couple has two children together, and they keep their family life pretty private.

But while getting all dolled up during a video interview on February 27, Leighton Meester offered a rare update about their kids, including a glimpse into their work-life balance as a family of 4.

Adam Brody & Leighton Meester’s kids aren't "fazed at all" by the Hollywood life.

While recording a Vogue Beauty Secrets video, Leighton Meester revealed that her kids are pretty used to traveling for her and Adam Brody's work.

“My kids, they get what we do," she says. "They come on location a lot." And while both Leighton and Adam have worked on some pretty big projects (and Leighton just joined Nobody Wants This season 2!), the Gossip Girl actress doesn't "think they're fazed at all."

"They get a lot of us off set and a lot of us not working, which has been always a really big benefit for both of us," she continues.

She also revealed to Brit + Co exclusively that Arlo is pretty helpful in the kitchen. “What I try to do is meal prep as much as I can. Sometimes that doesn't work out for me, but for my kids — I'll make things ahead of time," she says, adding that she's in “one of the luckiest positions that a mom could be.”

“When I was still nursing or my babies were still young, I had plenty of space and time to [be with my kids]," she continues. "And I know most women who are mothers don't have that opportunity at all.”

What has Adam Brody said about his parenting style?

Stefania Rosini/Netflix

When asked about his parenting style with Leighton Meester, Adam Brody told Today's Hoda & Jenna that he feels like their parenting is the "perfect" balance. "Of course, I’m going to feel like it’s the perfect balance of all of it," he says, adding that they're "very honest."

"We have some very truthful conversations, for better or worse. But other than that, I wouldn’t say overly strict," he continues. "There is a helicopter, you know, to keep them safe. I’m not overly strict but I see the sharp edges, literally...I want to keep those heads maintained."

What has Leighton Meester said about their family traditions?

Paulina Stevens/Exmas Film Inc/Amazon Freevee

When it comes to spending time together during the holidays, Leighton also opened up to Brit + Co exclusively about their go-to activities in an interview for her 2023 rom-com EXmas.

"We do a lot of hanging out," Leighton says in our conversation. "It's infuriating to people who live in cold weather but we go to the beach or we go in our pool or jacuzzi. We have snacks by the jacuzzi — we call it jajuterie!" Can I get in on that?

Treehouse aesthetic is not only a charming decor trend, but it also evokes a sense of nostalgia, whether you grew up with one or simply wished you had. Santa Barbara architect Dylan Henderson and designer Bailee Roberts have reimagined a 1960s hillside home into a stunning modern retreat inspired by the magic of treehouses. Perched among California’s iconic coastal oaks, this home embraces its natural surroundings, offering breathtaking views of the Santa Barbara harbor and the rolling mountains beyond. It’s the kind of place that inspires daydreaming — it's my ultimate someday escape.

Here are 12 home decor ideas I'm stealing from this modern treehouse retreat.

Gavin Cater

1. Exposed Wood Beams

This project was a full gut renovation, designed to blend with the natural landscape while bringing the homeowners' vision to life. The couple, both in their 60s, wanted a home that felt nestled in the oak canopies of the Honda Valley Preserve while making the most of the light and sweeping views.

Gavin Cater

From the moment you step inside, reclaimed beams in the entry foyer set the tone for the entire space. The clients envisioned a retreat that felt both elevated and deeply connected to nature — warm, inviting, and sophisticated.

Erin Feinblatt

2. Floor-to-Ceiling Windows

The team wanted to maximize the ocean and mountain views by increasing the roof height and fenestration on the Southern façade. They also introduced upper west-facing clerestory windows to welcome the warm afternoon light. The result? Sweeping ocean vistas that take center stage, while natural light floods in throughout the day.

Erin Feinblatt

3. Bi-Fold Doors

The design team rebuilt the existing 1960s home to feel like a "treehouse in the sky." The bi-fold doors opening onto the deck blur the line between indoors and out, extending the living space and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Gavin Cater

The windows from the living room and kitchen frame breathtaking 180-degree views overlooking the Santa Barbara Harbor and the Honda Valley Nature Preserve, making the transition between inside and nature feel almost invisible.

Gavin Cater

4. Cozy Yet Refined Furniture

The result is a warm, multi-layered sanctuary — an elevated treehouse retreat that blends with its natural surroundings while revealing a refined yet cozy charm. The open living floor plan features high ceilings, expansive glass, and a plaster fireplace too. "The furniture is a thoughtfully curated mix of heirloom vintage, design classics, and modern pieces, creating a cultivated aesthetic," says Bailee. She notes that the furniture includes selections from Cisco Home, The Citizenry, and boutique sources.

Gavin Cater

5. Shelfie Perfection

Balancing tradition and modernity, Bailee combined the couple’s beloved antiques and heirloom pieces with contemporary furnishings and carefully curated fixtures. This shelfie is a thoughtfully layered mix of books, pottery, antiques, and personal treasures — designed to be both visually striking and inherently soothing.

Gavin Cater

6. Fluted Island

Fluted kitchen islands are a hot trend right now and I love the architectural detail and modern aesthetic of the vertical battens of white oak on the island, complementing the white oak cabinetry and marble countertops.

Gavin Cater

Adding a gentle curve at the end of the kitchen island enhances both form and function — creating a more visually dynamic focal point while also maximizing space and flow.

Erin Feinblatt

7. Layered Lighting

"The lighting is a mix of designer and mainstream pieces, from the gorgeous Ravinhill fixture over the island to the Visual Comfort sconces in the living room and Rejuvenation in the guest bathroom," says Bailee. By combining different sources, layered lighting enhances the mood and versatility of a space, making any room feel more inviting and well-designed. Sconces here add warmth while the pendant chandelier above creates a statement while diffusing light beautifully.

Gavin Cater

8. Earthy Palette

Sunlight pours into the home, accentuating the rich woods, organic textures, and an earthy palette that enhances the seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Erin Feinblatt

9. Statement Artwork

Bedrooms were designed as private sanctuaries surrounded by trees. This vintage goose painting beautifully echoes the room’s palette while adding an almost whimsical energy. The expressive pose of the goose brings a sense of movement and charm, making it both a statement piece and a harmonious accent.

Erin Feinblatt

10. Floating Sink

Floating sinks are a game-changer for smaller bathrooms, creating the illusion of more space while maintaining a sleek, elegant look. Marble is also a hot trend we love for kitchens and baths.

Gavin Cater

11. Entertaining Deck

Outdoor living is essential, and this deck is the perfect extension of the Santa Barbara treehouse — designed for lounging, dining, and entertaining while embracing the beauty of the surroundings.

Gavin Cater

12. Modern Landscaping

Modern landscaping transforms the curb appeal by blending clean lines, native plants, and strategic lighting for a polished yet inviting look. Thoughtfully placed greenery, sculptural hardscaping, and layered textures create depth and dimension, while sustainable elements like drought-tolerant plants elevate the home's exterior.
