Halloween 2k14 countdown is on, and we’re not ashamed to say we’ve been prepping and decorating for longer than is probably acceptable. But as much as we love the proliferation of all things black, orange and creepy, sometimes we want a little more variety. And, being Brit + Co, obvi that variety needs to come in the form of color. Lots and lots of color. If you share our feelings, read on for 23 super colorful ways to mix up your pumpkin decor!
1. Pink and Gold Tablescape: We’ve all experimented with a pumpkin centerpiece or two. But dressing them up in pink and gold and propping them on pedestals of different heights makes a banging tablescape. (via Colin Cowie Weddings)
2. Thumbtack Message: Carving pumpkins is hard. If you don’t have the skills or the patience, you can still create an awesome design with thumbtacks. We’re also digging the color combo in this one! (via Country Living)
3. Glitter Chevron: You know chevron is one of our fave patterns, and don’t even get us started on glitter. This striped punkin is simple enough for kids and super easy to personalize. (via The Land of Nod)
4. Ombre Spiderwebs: Sometimes you need traditional spooky Halloween decor. These pumpkins are for just that time. (via Plaid Online)
5. Neon Twine: White spray paint, neon paint and twine are all you need for this project. We like to think of them as futuristic pumpkins. (via For the Love of)
6. Candy Sugar Skull: This pumpkin’s pulling triple duty. Set him on your porch for Halloween, bring him in to decorate for your Dia de los Muertos party, then eat his candy face for a snack (but actually don’t). (via Rachael Ray Mag)
7. Easter Egg Pumpkins: Got an extra Easter egg dying kit, or maybe just too much food coloring? Use it to liven up some mini pumpkins! We’d love to see what these guys look like lit up at night. (via C Fabbri Designs)
8. Painted Pumpkins: Painting is fun, therapeutic and can make way less mess than carving… probably. (via Meg Duerksen)
9. Paint-Dipped: Dip dye FTW! We’re thinking either a neon color palette or a row of ombre dipped pumpkins. (via Brit + Co)
10. Candy Corn Ombre: Candy corn is our Halloween Achilles’ heel. These painted pumpkins look great for our porch and our blood sugar. (via Better Homes and Gardens)
11. Stack-O-Lantern: Sure, your front yard looks great with all those pumpkins artfully scattered about. But it would look even better with a Brit + Co original Stack-O-Lantern. (via Brit + Co)
12. Crayon Drip Art Pumpkin: Remember our crayon art phase of a couple years ago? Well if you got bored of canvas like us, kicking it up a notch with a pumpkin is the perfect project. (via The Swell Designer)
13. Watercolor and Gold: Why just paint when you can paint and glitter? That’s a question we ask ourselves on the regular. And this project proves it’s a good one. (via Nest of Posies)
14. Paint and Glitter: It’s pink, it’s sparkly and it’s totally in the theme of Breast Cancer Awareness month. It’s basically perfect. (via Posh Little Designs)
15. Paper: We’re bucking all trends and staying away from carving tools and paint brushes. All you need to make these beauts become a reality is some card stock, a pair of scissors and some glue. (via Brit + Co)
16. Neon Paint Dipped: Now we’re talking. This white and neon project is perfect for our inner tech geek. It’s gonna look great next to our X-cube. (via A Night Owl)
17. Painted Pumpkins with Glittered Stems: The color palette of this project would look right at home in our home. (via Aunt Peaches)
18. Fabric Painted: Finally, a use for all the puffy paint we have leftover from college. We’re digging its use here to give a white pumpkin some extra dimension. (via Spearmint Baby)
19. Sugar Skulls: Leave it to Mexico to make a holiday even more colorful. (via Brit + Co)
20. Paint Chip Pumpkins: So you’re left with a bunch of half full cans of paint after your most recent re-dec project. Use them as inspo for a series of mini pumpkins. The best part about this project? You know it will blend in perfectly with your living room. (via Chatelaine)
21. Colorful Confetti: We’re all about DIY projects to suit every skill level. All this project takes is colorful brads, and it looks like a million bucks. (via A Subtle Revelry)
22. Funky Ombre: Ghostly white fades into bright Halloween orange, which merges with neon pink. Have we mentioned how much we love ombre lately? (via Funkytime)
23. Pretties Pumpkins: Decoupage will never be dead. Grab your favorite wrapping paper and put it on full display in all of its colorful glory. (via Brit + Co)
