Colton Underwood Finally Jumped the Fence on ‘The Bachelor’ and the Internet Had Jokes

After months of anticipation, The Bachelor finally aired the footage of Colton Underwood trying to escape the show by jumping over a fence. It took nearly all season, but the viewer reactions were worth the wait.

The dramatic moment went down after Cassie Randolph, who appeared to be the frontrunner of the season, said she didn’t think she was in love with Underwood and left. Underwood, devastated and overwhelmed, frustratedly ripped off his mic after saying he was “done,” and — you guessed it — headed for the fence.

Host Chris Harrison ran after him, but there was nothing he could do. Underwood, a former NFL player, cleared that fence in no time.

Producers have been teasing the dramatic moment since before the season started, so fans watched in anticipation every week — to no avail. One person even started a Twitter account called “Did Colton Jump Over the Fence,” dedicated to reporting on the status of the fence jump after each episode.

So when the internet at last got what it was waiting for on Monday, March 4, the reactions were gold.

“My man didn’t stretch, was wearing dress clothes, and had no momentum. And cleared it easily,” the fence-jumping Twitter account wrote. “I hope the @NFL was watching cause that’s a pure athlete.”

“I WAS NOT LET DOWN THIS FENCE JUMPING SITUATION IS EVERYTHING,” another viewer wrote. “Chris Harrison trying to open the gate… Just magical.”

After Underwood cleared the fence, Harrison and the producers ran after him, but the reality star was nowhere to be found. Naturally, one Twitter user made a missing person poster, while others used GIFs and photo memes to illustrate how the heartbroken leading man might be hiding out nearby.

ABC and Harrison have been teasing the moment as one of the most dramatic in the show’s history, and by most accounts, viewers were not let down.

“Me when Colton jumped the fence even though I knew it was coming for three months,” one fan wrote.

“The fact that the fence jump turned out to be part of the season’s most important moment and not some throwaway part is something we should all cherish forever,” another viewer tweeted. “The stars aligned.”

“Chris Harrison wasn’t lying when he said this is the MOST dramatic season of #TheBachelor EVER,” another viewer said.

Harrison previously revealed that several stars have tried to quit the show, but this is the first time a physical escape attempt has been shown. Underwood, who was tweeting along with Bachelor Nation during the episode, admitted that it was “hard” to watch, and called it “the realest moment ever.”

One good thing came of the incident, though, according to Underwood. “At least y’all forgot about my virginity,” he joked. “Thanks fence.”

To everyone's shock, Jack Dutton died in 1923 season 2, episode 6, "The Mountain Teeth of Monsters." While Jacob and a couple men set off to meet Spencer at the train station, Jack was instructed to stay at the Yellowstone ranch to defend the house, as well as Cara and Elizabeth.

But when he chose to leave anyway, Jack was met with two of Whitfield's men, who shot and killed him. Actor Darren Mann admitted the death made him "angry, sad and frustrated," telling People that "There must've been four or five people who went down just right there in that one episode. Death everywhere."

But the most devastating take on this theory to me? That "I also do believe there will be 3 deaths because Chelsea keeps bringing up that bad things happen in 3s," another comment says. "3 siblings, 3 Russians, 3 friends."

More comments applaud @popcultureari for coming up with "such a good theory," but if Timothy makes the smoothie in The White Lotus season 3 finale, and then all three kids somehow end up dead, y'all will need to check on me!

What is American Love Story?

American Love Story is FX's next anthology series based on true love stories the world can't get enough of (hopefully we'll see a Princess Diana season soon!). The first season will follow John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, who worked as Calvin Klein's director of publicity and began dating JFK Jr. in 1994. They got married on September 21, 1996.

After some super intense and extensive media & paparazzi attention, their relationship began to feel some tension that ultimately ended in tragedy when John's private plane crashed into the ocean off Martha's Vineyard in 1999. Both John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette died in the crash, along with Carolyn's sister Lauren.

No, sadly Carolyn Bessette Kennedy passed away in a plane crash on July 16, 1999 off the coast of Massachusetts. At John F. Kennedy Jr.'s memorial his uncle Ted Kennedy said, "We dared to think, in that other Irish phrase, that this John Kennedy would live to comb gray hair, with his beloved Carolyn by his side. But like his father, he had every gift but length of years."

Surprise! We Could Get 'Paradise' Season 2 Sooner Than You Think

The only thing keeping me from being upset about A Court of Thorns and Roses TV show being canceled is how well Hulu handled it's newest thriller, Paradise. Created by screenwriter Dan Fogelman (This Is Us) and starring Sterling K. Brown, it's a murder mystery with dystopian undertones that explores what could happen if states become uninhabitable.

Besides feeling relevant to our current timeline, Paradise has a soundtrack that rivals Strangers Things and leaves viewers wanting more. Fortunately, Hulu got the memo and renewed it for Season 2 — thank goodness!

I'm pinching myself because Paradise Season 2 has started filming! Dan Fogelman shared the amazing news on his Instagram a few days ago and his comments are buzzing with excitement! "We’re baaaaaaaack. #Paradise#S2," he wrote which means we could see Sterling K. Brown and Julianne Nichols on our screens sooner than anticipated.

This comes after an update Fogelman shared with a hopeful fan on X. In response to a fear viewers would have to wait a long time to see more action from our new favorite characters, Fogelman put all fears aside. "we start shooting in just a few weeks. It won’t be 2 years I promise! #Paradise," he said.

When does 'Paradise' season 2 premiere?

Filming just started for Paradise Season 2, so a premiere date for it hasn't been shared yet. But at the rate Fogelman's going, we could possibly see the thriller series on Hulu towards the end of the year or at the beginning of 2026!

For now, fans can rewatch Season 1 on Hulu or when it appears on ABC April 7 at 10:00 p.m. (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Wow, where do I begin?!

After it was revealed that the community he and everyone else lives in has been artificially created due to a disaster, the brief moments of unease Collins shows begins making sense. It's clear he and President Cal ended on bad terms before his death, but it doesn't seem like he was responsible for murdering the man he was sworn to protect.

What's odd is that Sinatra, the mastermind behind the beautiful community they live in, has been playing puppet master. She ordered the deaths of scientists sent to the surface to test the air quality AND she made sure Agent Billy was blindsided by his love interest's manipulation. Upsettingly, his murderer is none other than seemingly docile and clueless Agent Jane.

Viewers were also introduced to President Cal's father and were able to see how much he never wanted to be the face of the country. Though his father appears to have dementia, it's clear he feels guilty about something and may have seen who killed his son.
