Here’s Everything Coming to Netflix in January 2016

January means the holidays have come and gone, and each and every last gift (pssst, if you need last minute gift ideas, check out our gift guides!) has been distributed. Translation: It’s time to enjoy your own company. Given that it’s still chilly outside and all, it’s still probably safer to check your FOMO and stay indoors in the evenings (or at least, that’s what we tell ourselves). Luckily, Netflix is totally making that easy with their latest offerings that are coming to our TVs come January. Remember, Netflix has promised to double down on the amount of original programming they’ve got for 2016, and by January they’ll already be starting to deliver. Check it out below!

First off, Degrassi is back with all the best teen drama with Netflix’s original take Degrassi: Next Class (1/15), thanks to the streaming service’s rescue of the long-running TeenNick show after it was cancelled last June. Chelsea Handler is also going to be starring in a comedic documentary about her life called Chelsea Does (1/23). And for laughs, there’s comedian Tom Segura’s show Tom Segura: Mostly Stories (1/8).

As for the kids and the tweens, we see a lot of dragons in store for January. There’s season two of Dragons: Race to the Edge (1/8), which follows our fave protagonists from How to Train Your Dragon and Ever After High: Dragon Games (1/29), a show about a fairytale high school.

MOVIES COMING TO NETFLIX IN JANUARY

January 2016 is going to be a good month for movies — which is perfect because baby, it’s (still) cold outside. There’s plenty of blockbusters like 2 Fast 2 Furious (1/1) featuring the late and great Paul Walker or Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball (1/1). If thrillers are more your speed — because getting scared a great excuse to snuggle with your boo — there’s the chilling We Need to Talk About Kevin (1/1) featuring a brilliant Tilda Swinton as a distraught mother of a violent son; Training Day (1/4); Keanu Reeves as a badass demon killer in Constantine (1/1); or Swordfish (1/1) starring John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Don Cheadle and Halle Berry. In case you don’t have enough Halle, there’s also the 2004 anti-superhero flick Catwoman (1/1).

To keep things lighthearted, check out comedy hits like Along Came Polly (1/1); The Whole Ten Yards (1/1); Meet the Parents (1/1) and Meet the Fockers (1/1). And if you’re in the mood for romance, Pride and Prejudice (1/1) starring Keira Knightley will get you there, as will rom-coms The Wedding Date (1/1) and Intolerable Cruelty (1/1)featuring George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Also, Discovery Channel’s stunning documentary about the our planet’s polar regions Frozen Planet (1/28), along with several other supporting titles like Frozen Planet: On Thin Ice (1/28); Frozen Planet: The Epic Journey (1/28) and The Making of the Frozen Planet (1/28) will all be making their debut.

For the little ones, there’s Nanny McPhee (1/1); Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (1/1); Pooh’s Heffalump Movie (1/1) and The Tale of Despereaux (1/1).

TV SHOWS COMING TO NETFLIX IN JANUARY

Some of the heavy-hitters are going to be back in 2016 on Netflix with all-new seasons, like New Girl: Season 4 (1/5); It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 10 (1/5)and season seven of Parks and Recreation (1/13). The crime/supernatural thriller TV show based on Robert Rodriguez’s film of the same name From Dusk Till Dawn (1/23) is back with season two. In case you’re in the mood for some engrossing reality television, there’s always season one of The Celebrity Plastic Surgeons of Beverly Hills (1/1).

Everyone’s fave time-waster smartphone game is now a TV show. Yes, we’re talking about Angry Birds Toons (1/1). Other offerings for the kids are Sofia the First: Season 2 (1/3) and Littlelest Petshop: Season 4 (1/11).

We've known for a decade that Selena Gomez can command any scene she's a part of. (Hello Wizards of Waverly Place!) And the entire world is starting to take notice thanks to her newest movie, Emilia Pérez. The musical thriller, which hits Netflix this fall, won both the Jury Prize and Best Actress Awards at Cannes in May 2024. What is the film Emilia Pérez about?

This new musical thriller, from writer & director Jacques Audiard, is split into four acts as it follows four women in Mexico. At the center of the story, cartel leader Emilia (played by Karla Sofía Gascón) gets the help of lawyer Rita (Zoe Saldaña) so she can fake her death and live her truth. It bends genres, defies expectations, and is just as gritty as it is beautiful.

Emilia Pérez will premiere in select theaters November 1, 2024. The movie will hit Netflix on November 13, 2024.

All it takes is a few episodes of Nobody Wants This to realize it's one of the best rom-coms of the year — and that Adam Brody is still super hot. The series, which also stars Kristen Bell, has gone viral for everything from its hilariously relatable approach to dating to "the best kiss of all time" to how eloquently it explains the fear that we're too much for a romantic partner. With an 8.1 out of 10 on IMDb, a 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and literally millions of TikTok views, it's no surprise the show was just renewed for a second season. Here's everything we know about Nobody Wants This season 2.

Is there going to be a season 2 of Nobody Wants This?

Stefania Rosini/Netflix

Yes on October 10, Netflix announced that Nobody Wants This will be coming back for season 2. And (spoiler!!!) now that Joanne and Noah have decided to be together, and Noah's decided to give up his position as Head Rabbi, I have a feeling they'll have to deal with a lot of opinions. (Namely, Noah's mother).

"Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me," creator Erin Foster says in a statement. "The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers' reactions to this series now that it's out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed. I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I've been such a fan of since Girls... Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”

When is Nobody Wants This season 2 coming out?

Netflix

We know season 2 is coming out in 2025, but stay tuned for an official Nobody Wants This season 2 release date.

Who's in the cast of Nobody Wants This season 2?

Netflix

The Nobody Wants This cast includes Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Stephanie Faracy, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Michael Hitchcock, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, Shiloh Bearman, and Emily Arlook.

Does Nobody Wants This End on a Cliffhanger?

Saeed Adyani/Netflix

Nobody Wants This might not end on the same kind of thrilling, dramatic cliffhanger as Outer Banks season 4 part 1, but it definitely leaves us with a ton of questions. How will Joanne and Noah's families react to the news? What does life look like as a couple? Will Joanne be able to flaunt their relationship in front of all the teenagers? No matter what comes, these two are very much in love, and I can't wait to see them continue to heal and grow together.

Over the past several years, climate change has become an increasingly prevalent and unavoidable issuein our everyday lives. As a growing number of people take the threat of global disaster seriously, we're turning to written reports, expert opinions, and heavily researched documentaries to not only help make sense of where we stand, but also to learn how we can help change course. In honor of Earth Day, here are a few of the most eye-opening environmental documentaries you can stream right now.

Environmental Documentaries To Watch For Earth Day 2024

Animal IQ (2021): Featuring elephants, foxes, otters, and more, this new series from PBS Digital Studios and Nature takes a look at the intelligence of Earth's animals with a new episode every three weeks. In each installment, Trace Dominguez and Natalia Borrego talk to experts and conduct research to determine how and if animals can actually think.

Our Planet(2019): Unlike the BBC's beloved Planet Earth and Blue Planet series, Our Planet focuses directly on how each ecosystem featured is currently being threatened by climate change. One scene in particular has caused an appropriately dramatic reaction: a group of Russian walruses falling down a steep rock cliff to their deaths. Narrator Sir David Attenborough explains that receding ice levels have left fewer places for the animals to gather, highlighting just how devastating the warming of the planet has already become.

Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret (2014): Made by the same team who brought us 2017's controversial What the Health documentary,Cowspiracy is, on its surface, a look at the damaging environmental effects of the livestock industry. Like What the Health, much of the information is presented from a very pro-vegan perspective, and not a lot of balanced reporting is offered. Still, it can serve as a starting point to learn about how meat production uses more resources and contributes more to global greenhouse gas emissions than, say, a plant-based diet, and that may help us make more informed food choices.

Chasing Coral (2017): Coral reefs not only serve as a nurturing and essential environment to all ocean life, but also help protect coastlines from flooding during extreme weather events. Unfortunately, due to warming sea temperatures, overfishing, pollution, and other human activities, their vivid, beautiful ecosystems are facing rapid decline. Chasing Coral attempts to document this "coral bleaching" and the devastating economic and environmental effects it could have — as well as the wider problems it may represent. (photo via Netflix)

The Milk System (2017): Milk has always represented health, nutrients, and strong bones but The Milk System dives into how the system in question really operates. Speaking with farmers, dairy owners, scientists, and more, this Earth Day documentary examines the profits, responsibilities, and costs of this billion dollar industry.

Image via Pastic Oceans

A Plastic Ocean (2016): In the face of realizing its irreversible environmental effects, the world is slowly moving toward banning many single-use plastics. A Plastic Ocean starts out as a documentary on blue whales but quickly turns into a study on the devastating effects that plastic pollution has had in the lives of ocean animals, from the whales, to dolphins, to seals, and more. It's an eye-opening look at what our plastic use is doing to these creatures, and to the state of much of our own food supplies.

Image via Netflix

Kiss the Ground (2020): This full-length documentary, narrated by Woody Harrelson, looks at the way regenerative agriculture (which focuses on topsoil regeneration) has the potential to feed the world, replenish water supplies, and even balance our climate. Activists, scientists, farmers and politicians take part in this move towards saving the planet's topsoil.

This post has been updated.

If you need an instant mood boost, cute dresses are the way to go. Nothing brings me joy like putting on an adorable mini or a flowy maxi, especially on days where I might not feel my absolute best. It's a special challenge to not only find cute dresses that fit my vibe, but also my body – to a tee. If there's one place I'm shopping for cute dresses for my curves, it's Amazon – and they have so many styles available right now. Scroll on for 12 cute dresses I found that will flatter your figure (and mine) for an unbeatable price!

Amazon

Ewedoos Tennis Dress

Nothing snatches you up quite like a workout dress. This stretchy, shaping mini supports your figure with built-in shorts (they have side pockets!) and a removable bra, which also help add coverage where you need it most. It even has adjustable straps that cross in the back for an eye-catching factor when you're not layering up with a cardigan or jacket.

Amazon

Prettygarden Swiss Dot Ruffle Dress

This pleated maxi dress undoubtedly draws attention to the girls, if you catch my drift. The upper half is thoughtfully designed with an empire waistline to elongate your torso and emphasize your bust, while the ruffled tie-up collar really, well, ties it all together. You'll fall in love with the soft, flowy texture of this subtly-dotted dress the moment you put it on!

Amazon

Prettygarden Wrap Flowy Dress

A wrap dress is gonna do it every time. Whether you're a plus-sized baddie or a petite gal, the waist-hugging nature of wrap dresses help give your body shape. I love that this one is more modest around the neckline, too, so you don't have to worry about tussling with major slips throughout the day. The pleated skirt and wide puff sleeves give it some real flirty flair that you can wear confidently anywhere!

Amazon

Cupshe Cutout Self-Tie Long Dress

More fit for the summer season – but equally stylish for fall – this maxi dress accentuates your waist to a tee. The twisted front detail is met by a playful open back design that lets you show some skin, all while looking ahh-mazing. This breezy number also comes in tons of colors and patterns to match your exact vibe!

Amazon

IHOT Faux Wrap Bodycon Dress

From the ruching along the sides to the tapered skirt, this bodycon dress means business. Though most skin-tight dresses give the impression of being entirely too uncomfortable, this one has just enough stretch to give you ample breathing room! The v-shaped neckline is big bust-friendly, as is the pencil skirt for bigger booties. No matter your body type, you will look on fire.

Amazon

Blencot Short Sleeve Square Neck Split Midi Dress

Milkmaid dresses are where it's at, y'all! This one's full of feminine flair, thanks to the fitted bodice, puff sleeves, and tie-up front. The midi-length skirt even features a high-cut leg slit for a dash of sexiness (and breathability). This pick will look just as cute with casual sneakers as it will with tall fall boots!

Amazon

Dokotoo Elegant Bow Tie Mini Dress

If you're on the shy side to show your arms completely, this fluttery mini is just the perfect piece to add to your dress collection. The flowy, oversized sleeves provide the ideal amount of coverage while still being stylish enough to amp up your outfit. The length is flattering all around, plus it boasts a cute little bow on the front for visual appeal!

Amazon

BTFBM Long Sleeve Ruffle Boho Dress

I think I just found my next fall dress. The ruffles! The sleeves! The florals! It's all working for me. This dress' flowy skirt will pair well with riding boots and a denim jacket for a cute-but-casual ensemble.

Amazon

The Drop Lana Maxi Slip Dress

I fear you can never go wrong with a slip dress. From curvy to straight body types, they just look utterly timeless and modelesque. Plus, slip dresses are fairly basic, so you can have fun dressing them up to your liking! This deep red color is the perfect hue for the season – it'll surely turn heads. Plus, the fit of this piece is meant to "follow the body," so it won't be too loose nor too tight.

Amazon

Prettygarden Spaghetti Strap Long Dress

This maxi dress is gonna become your go-to on days you don't necessarily want to wear pants, but still have to dress up a bit. The loose fit around your tummy and legs is super comfy, plus you won't have to worry about any coverage woes since the dress is quite long! The squiggly contrasting trim adds a youthful vibe to what would've been a very plain black maxi, which is always welcome for the sake of the 'fit check!

Amazon

Luxely Spaghetti Strap Angled Tiered Maxi Dress

Simple and chic – just the way I like it! This dress has the best of both worlds. I love the extra details via the side ruching and tiering on the maxi skirt, too. It'd be perfect for brunch parties, baby showers, and every special occasion in between!

Amazon

Sidefeel Button-Down Denim Dress

Denim dresses reign supreme, come fall. This one isn't just your ordinary denim dress, though: it's fitted with fun ruffled sleeves, buttons up along the front, and has plenty of interesting seam work to keep your look fresh.

But a little warning: don't wait too long because it looks like all the fashion girls are snatching this collection up without a second thought!

GAP

Asymmetrical Denim Maxi Skirt

There are only a few sizes left of this peek-a-book denim maxi skirt, and I can see why. It's an elevated take on the traditional maxi skirt that's sure to give your fall look a sexy, stylish edge. Pair it with a thin turtleneck sweater or a tailored white button-up shirt along with a pair of cute Steve Madden boots!

GAP

Cargo Barrel Pants

Anyone who knows me understands I have an affinity for wearing oversized cargo pants. This pair has the semi-grunge appeal I love because it can be dressed up or down depending on your preference. It goes without saying, but they deserve some boot action to truly set them off!

GAP

Wool Mini Dress

The GAP x Cult Gaia collection wouldn't be complete this fall without something wool, so they added this cute mini dress for good measure. You can wear it over a cream knit sweater and pair it with a pair of leopard print flats to create a look that feels trendy.

GAP

Leather Jacket

This spicy leather jacket is for the gal who isn't afraid of a little cold because they know the hotness factor of their fall outfit will make up for their bare belly. All jokes aside, I don't have much to say about this one except I need it ASAP.

GAP

Leather Pants

While I'm thinking about it, I should probably buy these sexy leather pants for a cute monochromatic moment! I think I have the perfect wool coat to go with them too!

GAP

Cutout Maxi Dress

This is the date night dress the GAP x Cult Gaia fall collection knows you've been waiting for. It's going to hug every curve you have while giving a little cutout action that will make your beau's breath get caught in their chest.

GAP

Vegan Fur Coat

Vegan fur coats are IN, according to GAP and Cult Gaia! I can't say that I blame them because this will make any casual outfit look cute.

GAP

Backless Classic Shirt

This is one of those "business in the front, party in the back" shirts, and I LOVE IT. Beautiful, give me 10 more!

GAP

Cropped Cardigan

This cropped red cardigan is sure to complete my "I'm turning into a sexy bibliophile" look and I'm not mad at it. I can see myself wearing this while curled up with a good book in my office, or while I'm out to grab lunch with a friend.

GAP

Sheer Wool Sweater

You and I can't go wrong with a wool sweater, especially if it's a little sheer. I'm in my spicy era, so I think a little see-through moment can't hurt anyone — especially when paired with some dark indigo jeans on a chilly night out.
