When it comes to walking the red carpet, a wardrobe malfunction might be the worst thing that could happen to a celeb. (Other than showing up in the same dress as someone else, like Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill sorta’ did at the Grammys.) With plunging necklines, thigh-high slits, and teetering stilettos, a lot can go wrong… on camera. Demi Lovato came thisclose to wiping out on the Grammys red carpet (there’s pictures to prove it!), but managed to avoid the sitch like a total boss.
The “Confident” singer stunned in a delicately crocheted Julien MacDonald dress that featured a very prominent keyhole top. Demi was taking A LOT of risks that night, but the singer’s most dangerous area was actually around the hem of the dress.

As @girlwithnojob pointed out on Instagram, the Disney Channel alum waded into some very hazardous territory when the spiked heel of her gold Giuseppe Zanotti sandal got entangled in the hem of her gown. Gah! Is your heart in your throat?! Apparently, it wasn’t the only time this happened, either: As Footwear News reported, the left shoe also gave her a little trouble with regard to the dress’ hem.
Luckily, somehow, some way, whether by luck or thanks to an eagle-eyed assistant, Demi found her way out of this hairy situation, with no Jennifer Lawrence style tumbles to report. Phew! It just goes to show that stars make looking good seem much easier than it is sometimes.
