It’s wedding season, you guys, and that means it’s time to rev up your beauty game! Dewy skin is still topping the charts as one of the most desired looks for spring brides and wedding guests alike (and — let’s face it — just about everyone else!), so we’re showing you how to take your wedding-ready base makeup to a whole new luminous level. Not only are we arming you with the best (+ easiest) way to fake that gorge glow, but we’re also making sure it doesn’t fade from the likes of warmer weather + long hours you’ll be pulling celebrating the big day with your buds. Scroll below for everything you need to know about getting a long-lasting, dewy makeup look you just can’t get ready without.
Step 1: Moisturizer + Foundation for Base

Step 2: Concealer to Highlight
It may seem counter-intuitive, but when you set out to get a dewy complexion, you want to steer clear of any bronzer that’s too shiny — if there’s too much reflection, your entire face will lack dimension. Instead go for a neutral bronzer like Benefit Cosmetics Dallas ($28). Apply along your hairline down to your temples, sweep along the hollows of your cheeks, then sweep back down onto your jaw line slightly, blending down onto your neck.
Step 3: Bronzer to Contour
Smile! Now apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks (the round part of your cheeks when you smile) and sweep back toward your temples. This is when you’ll start to really enhance the dewy effect with a shimmering, natural-looking blush like NARS Blush in Orgasm ($30).
Step 4: Blush to Brighten
Normally, powder would be your final step, but since we want the overall look to be dewy, you’ll apply it now! Use a translucent powder like Japonesque Color Velvet Touch Finishing Powder ($26) to the places of your face that have not been hit with bronzer or blush.
Step 5: Powder to Strategically Matte
Virgin in Urban Decay Naked Palette
Step 6: Shadow + Liner for Depth
Go fairly simple on your eyebrows and clean them up a little with a brow pencil that matches your hair color best. Apply a couple coats of your favorite waterproof mascara to finish off your eyes, too.
Step 7: Mascara + Brows to Define
Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Face Highlighter
Step 8: Highlighter for the Dewy Touch
When it comes down to it, getting a perfectly dewy look is all about balancing the glossy and the matte. The touch of shimmer just under the brow bone and on the cheek pops because the eyeshadow and bronzer are flat. We couldn’t resist a glossy pink lip and textured hair to round out the luminous look.
