16 New Things to Experience at Disney Parks in 2019

While there’s always a good reason to visit a Disney Park, in 2019, there are even more new things to look forward to. The highlight of the year, at both parks, will be the ultra-anticipated opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but that’s not all. Besides hanging out with Chewy, we’ll be flocking to the parks to celebrate Mickey and Minnie, to go on date nights, and to eat all the new concoctions you know they’ll be dreaming up. Here’s what else they have planned for the new year.

Disneyland

1. Party it up with Mickey and Minnie at the Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration. Beginning on January 18, pay homage to the creature who started it all during Mickey’s Mix Magic. Each night, there will be a new high-energy projection show with lights and lasers along Main Street and water screens on the Rivers of America, and the front of It’s a Small World will be transformed — all to honor Mickey. Make sure to bring your moves since there will be dance parties throughout the park courtesy of DJ Mickey. Some select nights, Mickey’s Mix Magic will take over the sky’s in the form of fireworks. There will also exclusive foods (of course) and a whole new collection of merch to buy.

2. Bask in the love between Mickey and Minnie for Valentine’s Day. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, from January 22 to February 18, Disneyland will be celebrating the love of Minnie and Mickey. Along with a Mickey Mouse portrait made from flowers and festive Valentine’s décor all along Main Street, U.S.A., there will be a fun activity for you and your boo: Minnie’s Valentine Surprise, a special scavenger hunt experience that’ll be offered at Disneyland park.

3. Have a throwback Disneyland date night. Head to the park on February 7 for Sweethearts’ Night and/or March 7, for ’90s Nite, both special after-hours ticketed events with dancing, specialty dining, and rare character encounters.

4. Rejoice for the return of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade. The Disney crowds love the always entertaining Mickey’s Soundsational Parade and will be thrilled when it returns on January 25. There will be a few new additions like Mickey leading the way in a float inspired by classic and nostalgic Mickey pull toys and Chip ‘n’ Dale presenting a giant b-day cake for Mickey.

5. Ring in the Year of the Pig. Head to Disney California Adventure from January 25 through February 17 to engage in all the fun at the Lunar New Year celebration. Tradition co-mingles with Disney magic with special events like Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession hosted by Mulan and her adorable dragon Mushu. Since it’s the Year of the Pig, the three little pigs will be on hand as well! Make sure to nibble on various Asian culinary offerings and to try out the kid-friendly crafts.

6. Live out your Star Wars fantasies. This summer, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open at Disneyland, where guests can go on their very own Star Wars adventures. The planet Batuu, with its Black Spire Outpost, is populated by smugglers, rogue traders, and exotic creatures. Along with interacting with the people of Batuu, guests can take the controls on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and join a battle between the First Order and the Resistance on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. While exploring Batuu, guests can sip on blue milk and visit the Cantina for a cocktail or head down winding alleyways where they might run into Star Wars luminaries like Chewbacca and stormtroopers.

7. Eat and drink in Disney style.Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returns to the Disney California Adventure from March 1 through April 23, that’s eight weeks of yummy celebration of California-inspired cuisines and tasty vinos. More than a dozen Festival Marketplace stalls will be offering up eclectic small plates, specialty wines, and craft beers. Party!

8. Get emotional in Pixar Pier. Since its grand opening last June, Pixar Pier has had crowds flocking to ride the Incredicoaster and Toy Story Mania as well as nibbling on the gourmet offerings at the Lamplight Lounge. 2019 will see the debut of two new attractions: the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and Jessie’s Critter Carousel.

9. Feast on burgers and beers. Downtown Disney will welcome two new hot spots to raise a pint and get your burger on. The Ballast Point Brewery, known for their Sculpin IPA, will be the first brewery in the Disneyland Resort, and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes will serve up Insta-worthy, over-the-top milkshakes. Both will open in early 2019.

10. Celebrate an attraction anniversary. 2019 will be a year of benchmark birthdays. Matterhorn Bobsleds and Disneyland Monorail turn 60 on June 14. The Haunted Mansion turns 50 on August 9, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad turns 40 on September 2, and Splash Mountain turns 30 on July 17.

Disney World

11. Celebrate the Magic Kingdom. While Disneyland will be going big with Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration, at Disney World they’ll be busy with the Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at the Magic Kingdom. To honor our favorite mice — from January 18  to  September 30 —  there will be new culinary sensations, merch to buy, and  entertainment, with a highlight being a new dance party with Mickey, Minnie, and their friends.

12. Get artsy. As if there isn’t enough to gawk at in Disney World, during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts your eyes will be busy soaking in even more beauty! This special event takes place from January 18 to February 25 and features visual arts, performing arts and all sort of culinary offerings. Make sure to also check out the Disney on Broadway Concert Series happening every day of the week.

13. Stop and smell the roses. With spring comes the return of the annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. From March 6 – June 3, visit the park to see beautifully arranged floral masterpieces and jaw-dropping Disney-themed topiaries. Grab a snack while you explore from one of the outdoor kitchens offering small bites.

14. Look in wonder at the Wonderful World of Animation. As part of the 30th  Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, May 1 will see the debut of state-of-the-art Wonderful World of Animation. This evening show will take  you  on a visual trek  through 90-plus years of Disney animation,  all beginning with the one and only Mickey Mouse.

15. Run away with Mickey & Minnie. We can’t wait for the debut of the very first Mickey Mouse-centric ride EVER! Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and opening in the fall of 2019, will feature what they’re calling 2 ½-D (no glasses required) and will be done in a lively and adorable cartoon style.

16. Visit both Galaxy’s Edges. Last but not least, Walt Disney World has their own Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in the Fall of 2019. It’ll be pretty much the same thing as Disneyland’s version but will have its own immersive hotel experience opening soon after.

With fall in full swing, it's safe to say you may have already taken trips to a local pumpkin patch or made your way to a haunted house (or two) for Halloween. However, if you're looking for a perfect quaint fall getaway, then add Lake Geneva to the top of your list! Located in Wisconsin, Lake Geneva — not to be confused with the similarly named Swiss body of water — is a gorgeous midwest town located right next to the stunning, sprawling Geneva Lake. You'll find numerous hotels, local restaurants, boutique and shops throughout the city, offering up plenty to do.

Not sure where to start? Luckily for you, I took a trip to Lake Geneva last month, and I've rounded up a quick guide for where (and what) you'll want to check out during your visit.

PS: If you can't make it this fall, just imagine the winter wonderland you'll find this winter, or the summer oasis you'll savor all summer!

Where To Stay In Lake Geneva

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

There are so many hotels to stay at in Lake Geneva, but there are definitely a few that really standout properties you should consider during your visit!

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is luxurious — yet somehow wonderfully quaint — property located an hour from Chicago that's great for your fall getaway. You'll find standard rooms and suites alongside a plethora of dining options and amenities to utilize during your stay including an indoor and outdoor pool, golf courses, a fitness center, a spa, and an on-site trolley. Plus, the resort has packages for the fall available where you can receive free rounds of golf during your stay on The Brute or The Highlands courses. Might I suggest sending the boys on a golfing spree while you and the girls savor the spa? 😉

Maxwell Mansion

Maxwell Mansion

Book lovers, this one's for you! The Maxwell Mansion is a boutique hotel that's two blocks away from Geneva Lake. The historic mansion has 28 rooms, some of which are inspired by historic figures such Emily Bronte, Charlotte Bronte, Louisa May Alcott, Jane Austen, General Grant, and Virginia Woolf. You'll also find a hidden speakeasy that's open to resort guests, and it's definitely worth checking out if you have some free time. Otherwise, you can find an indoor bar or grab a drink at the seasonally open tiki bar by the pool!

Warning: This hotel is adults only, so it's best suited for a romantic getaway or a girls' trip!

The Abbey Resort

The Abbey Resort

For a more full-service experience, The Abbey Resort is a great option for families and solo travelers. Aside from spacious rooms, the property has indoor and outdoor pools, live music, an entertainment center, and a 35,000 square-foot spa. The Avani spa is absolutely a highlight at this property, too — you can book a massage, manicure, pedicure, hair and makeup services depending on what you're interested in. Outside of all that, the resort is simply stunning, making it an even better spot to enjoy the fall foliage and take some totally Instagram-worthy photos.

Where To Eat In Lake Geneva

Instagram/@pier_290

While you'll eat lots of cheese curds (and cheese in general, let's be real) in Lake Geneva, you'll probably want to swing by a restaurant for a more hearty meal. Here are some top options to add to your reservations!

Pier 290

You can't visit Lake Geneva without dining alongside Geneva Lake, and Pier 290 is the city's only lakeside restaurant! While the view alone has plenty of allure, the menu loaded with familiar favorites from cheese curds to lobster rolls. Plus, if you stop by on the weekend, you'll be able to enjoy some awesome live music as you eat!

Instagram/@soprabistro

Sopra

If you're craving Italian food, then you'll definitely want to head on over to Sopra. This Italian-American bistro located on main street is home to scrumptious eats including fish, pastas, salads, and more. A majority of the menu items have unique names — I'm looking at you, "donald from delhi" — adding a little extra fun and flair to your dining experience. So grab a "b positive" cocktail (blood orange vodka, club soda, splash of blood orange juice), and enjoy your evening!

The Abbey

240 West

Chow down on locally sourced ingredients at The Abbey Resort's 240 West Restaurant. Chef Noah Gumustekin curated a selection of dishes from pappardelle to a grilled ribeye that'll get your mouth watering at the thought. Plus, if you're staying on the property, you can eat to your heart's content and make your way to a lovely night's sleep in no time!

What To Do In Lake Geneva

Instagram/@cruiselakegeneva

Go On A Mail Cruise

Looking to actually get out on the lake itself? Lake Geneva Cruise Line hosts a US mailboat tour where you can sit on a boat as employees deliver mail to over 75 homes around the lake. During the two hour tour you'll learn all about the different mansions on the lake, plus some fun facts about Lake Geneva in general! This is a must-do for first-time visitors!

Instagram/@yerkesobservatory

Visit Yerkes Observatory

Science lovers will want to take a trip over to Yerkes Observatoryfor all things space. The historic building is home to the world's largest refracting telescope (wow!), alongside plenty of other exhibits which you can browse at your own leisure. If you're looking for a more guided experience, the observatory offers tours to help you understand what the heck you're actually observing.

VisitLakeGeneva.com

Walk Along The Shore Path

You should totally take some time out of your busy itinerary to walk the shore path around Geneva Lake. The entire path is over 20 miles — which would take you almost all day to complete in its entirety — but you can just start and end wherever you'd like to get a gorgeous view of the lake and the larger-than-life mansions. The best part? It's free and open to the public, so you can stroll around at any time.

Lake Geneva Cooking School

Take A Cooking Class

If you're looking to spend time like a local in Lake Geneva, then you'll want to register for a class at Lake Geneva School of Cooking. Join Chef John Bogan and his team as you participate in a hands-on cooking class alongside other locals and vacation go-ers. You can browse the classes offered online and pick one that suits your palate, whether that's a meat-driven dinner or a perfect pasta dish. Classes are priced at $150 per person, so it's a bit on the expensive side, but think of it this way: this experience goes beyond the class! You can cook this menu over and over again at home, remembering the fabulous time you had in Lake Geneva.

Hill Valley Dairy

Try Some Local Cheese

You can't visit Wisconsin without trying some local cheese. Head on over to Hill Valley Dairy to get your hands — and taste buds — on locally produced cheeses. Once you figure out what you like, you can buy them to take home with you, so you can enjoy them even after you leave Lake Geneva! And who doesn't want more cheese in their lives?

Why is Lake Geneva so famous?

VisitLakeGeneva.com

Lake Geneva is famous given all its fine dining, larger-than-life mansions, and absolutely beautiful body of water. Additionally, this quaint town is also in a pristine location located only an hour away from Chicago, making it an easy way to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and be a little more in tune with nature.

On top of that, plenty of travelers compare Lake Geneva to more expensive destinations across the globe, from Lake Comoto Newport. This lets you get all the beauty and luxury of those bucket list towns without the high price tags!

How do I spend a day in Lake Geneva?

VisitLakeGeneva.com

When it comes to activities, Lake Geneva has plenty to offer! Whether you're simply walking the shore path, indulging in delicious locally grown dinners, or taking a cruise around the lake, you'll find fun everywhere you turn! And just because this is a lake town, doesn't mean you have to be outdoorsy. You can cater your experience based on your interests, including relaxing in one of the lovely luxury hotels.

Things are heating up betweenSelena Gomez and Benny Blanco since late last year to the surprise of some, but it seems like the couple's romance is just getting started. They're not shy about PDA and posting each other on social media and pretty much telling anyone who doesn't like it to get lost. We love how fiercely supportive they are of each other, giving us so many good green flags! Here's everything we know about the lovely new couple so far.

Selena Gomez And Benny Blanco's Relationship Timeline:

March 2019

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco first collaborated on the song "I Can't Get Enough" along with Tainy and J. Balvin in 2019. Though they were featured in a cute scene together, there weren't any rumors about them being romantically linked then.

August 2023

They didn't work together again until late summer 2023 when he produced Selena's single "Single Soon" with Cashmere Cat.

December 2023

Before 2023 ended, Selena started leaving comments on Instagram that suggested she and Benny Blanco were in fact together. One of the comments she left appear on this Instagram fan page and it reads, "He is my absolute everything in my heart."

Some fans weren't so thrilled to see the two together though and they weren't afraid to express their opinions. But, this only prompted Selena to leave more comments that defended her relationship with Benny.

People grabbed a screenshot of one of the comments Selena responded that revealed the couple had been together for a while. "Not mad. It’s been 6 months bb. I will always defend my friends, family and fans till the day I die," she wrote. They even shared another screenshot from Selena's Instagram Story that showed her wearing a "B" ring on one of her fingers.

The last picture of the carousel features them sharing a kiss in a black and white photo that basically confirms the responses the singer had for fans.

Feeling the love of being with Selena, Benny Blanco took to Instagram Stories to officially signal that the two are dating. People grabbed a few more screenshots that Benny shared and all we can see is the happy glint that was in Selena's eyes.

January 3, 2024

The next day the couple were seen court side at one of the Los Angeles Lakers' game. Once again, their love language was on full display in the most intimate way. A source revealed to People that they understood why people had so many opinions about Selena's relationship with Benny. "Everyone was a fan of hers before Only Murders [in the Building], and now everyone is protective of her."

January 15, 2024

Later that month, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco showed up to the Emmy Awards together. They were sitting side-by-side and weren't afraid to show affection with each other.

March 2024

When Benny Blanco's birthday rolled around, Selena Gomez shared a sweet message to him on Instagram. She wrote, "Happy birthday baby! Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me. I love you @itsbennyblanco 🎂🥹."

April 2024

Although we're only four months into the new year, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's relationship is still going strong! The Only Murders in the Building star has been seen smiling in every pic she posts which indicates she's genuinely happy in her relationship. A source hinted to People that the two are doing well. "It’s a very serious relationship, and they’re making long distance work while she’s in New York for work commitments," they said.

Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images for Spotify

April 25, 2024

In an interview with WSJ, Benny Blanco gave his POV of how his relationship with Selena Gomez began and it was the cutest revelation. "It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes...And then you have a Clueless moment where you're like, Wait, I'm in love," he says.

A man who compares his relationship to that moment in Clueless where Cher and Josh admit their feelings for each other gets brownie points from us!

May 15, 2024

It looks like Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's relationship may be ready for the next step — that's if you ask Mr. Blanco. He appeared on The Howard Stern Show yesterday to chat about everything, including his relationship with Selena. When Howard Stern asked, "You want to have kids with Selena? Have you told her you want to have kids yet," Benny replied, "That’s my next goal, to check the box. I have a ton of godkids. I've got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids."

However, he's not in a rush and wants everything to happen naturally. All that matters is that the two of them are in each other's life. He said, "I just know that when I look at her, I just say, ‘I don’t know a world where it could be better than this.’ That’s what I always say to her.”

Neilson Barnard/Getty Images

May 29, 2024

Selena Gomez tells TIME just how much Benny Blanco means to her — no matter what anyone else says. "My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life," she says. "But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”

Selena Gomez/Instagram

October 27, 2024

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco looked amazing in their Alice in Wonderland couple's Halloween costume. "Curiouser and curiouser," Selena wrote on the post, which is totally reminding us of Taylor Swift's 1989 (hello "Wonderland"!!!).

Selena wore a corset dress in what looks like slate blue with cap puffed sleeves and a tulle skirt, along with a blonde wig, black bow, and slingback shoes. Benny went all out as the Mad Hatter with face paint, a wig, a top hat, and a waistcoat. We'd follow them down the rabbit hole!

With peak summer travel becoming more crowded and expensive, I prefer to get away to some dreamy destination in the off season for a quieter escape. From scenic fall escapes to beachy destinations, November offers something for every off-season traveler. Cultural festivals, early holiday markets, and natural beauty (plus migrating whales!) make it the perfect time to plan an escape. Bonus: many destinations have off-season rates, allowing you to save on your travel budget while enjoying some of the most coveted destinations in the U.S. and around the world. Bon voyage!

Mendocino, CA

Shutterstock

Mendocino is a hidden gem on California’s northern coast that should top every ocean lover's bucket list. This charming village is a blend of charming Victorian architecture, modern eco-friendly boutiques, and breathtaking Pacific views. Take the journey through majestic redwoods to this cozy town in November when you might spot whales spouting off the rugged coast, and when the Mushroom Festival takes place (Nov. 16-17) , as part of the larger Harvest Mendocino. Stay at the centrally located MacCallum House for beautiful accommodations, from rooms in the historic mansion to private cottages, suites, a converted barn, and even a standalone home. Many rooms come with private hot tubs or jetted spa tubs, and stunning ocean views—plus, it's dog-friendly! Don't miss dining at the MacCallum House Restaurant, where farm-to-table dishes like Pan-Seared Scallops or Wild Mushroom Risotto pair perfectly with local Anderson Valley pinot or a refreshing Elderflower Martini. Unwind by the lush gardens or near the fire pit, then head to Catch-a-Canoe & Bicycles, Too (located at Stanford Inn & Resort) for an unforgettable paddle experience on the beautiful scenic Big River Estuary. Whether by canoe, kayak, or SUP, you'll have the chance to spot harbor seals, sea otters, and many bird species. There's wine tasting too! Visit Lula Cellars in Anderson Valley for a taste of world-class California wines and toast a perfect weekend getaway.

Athens, Greece

Despina Galani/Unsplash

With iconic landmarks like the Acropolis and the Parthenon, Athens offers a glimpse into ancient Greece, but it’s also a hip metropolis with bustling markets, lively cafes, and a thriving arts scene. November is cool enough to wander around and still experience clear blue skies. Explore world-class museums, enjoy fresh and delightful Mediterranean cuisine, and wander through charming neighborhoods like the Plaka and Monastiraki. With a unique mix of ancient ruins and modern life, Athens is the perfect destination for history buffs and adventure seekers.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Shutterstock

Buenos Aires blends the best of my three favorite cities: the Parisian elegance in the Recoleta neighborhood, the bustling energy of NYC in Palermo Soho, and a touch of Roman charm that permeates the rest of the city. November springtime is the best time to explore this beautiful South American city. Food lovers will enjoy amazing Argentine steaks (paired with a glass of malbec, ofc), while those in search of culture can explore museums, theaters, and cool street art. Tango your way through the city’s traditional dance halls, admire the diverse architecture, and walk the colorful streets of La Boca (shown above). Even catch a football match!

Oaxaca, Mexico

Ale Cisneros/Unsplash

Oaxaca is a stunning place to experience Día de Muertos (Nov. 1-2), where families build ofrendas, or altars, at home and decorate the city in colorful marigolds. The city hosts festivals, costumed parades and candlelit vigils in honor of loved ones lost. Visit markets full of handmade treasures, and explore historic landmarks like the Santo Domingo Church and ancient Zapotec ruins at Monte Albán. The city is also a foodie paradise, offering traditional dishes like mole and tlayudas, a toasted tortilla covered with refried beans, cabbage, avocado, meat, Oaxaca cheese, and salsa. Home to mezcal, Oaxaca has many places to sip tequila's tastier cousin. Tour the Montelobos distillery or sip it poolside at The Hotel Parador de Alcala, an 18th-century mansion in the city's historic center.

The Berkshires

Shutterstock

November in the Berkshires is ideal if you're looking for a slower pace surrounded by New England’s stunning fall foliage (for the best views head up to Mount Greylock, shown above). Located in western Massachusetts and part of the Appalachian Mountains, the Berkshires offers natural beauty plus antique shops, farm-to-table restaurants, and luxury spas. Explore the scenic trails and visit historic sites like Edith Wharton's home, Ventfort Hall Mansion and the Gilded Age Museum, which is just five minutes away from Life House, a charming stay in the town of Lenox (decor lovers will swoon).

Aspen, CO

Soly Moses

You can still catch breathtaking fall views around the Rocky Mountains in early November, even as snow starts to blanket the mountain landscape. Popular trails like Rio Grande and Smuggler are quieter this time of year and make for a peaceful respite before the holiday rush. Known for its world-class ski resorts, Aspen becomes a winter wonderland as the ski (and après-ski) season kicks off in late November. Beyond the slopes, enjoy the town’s luxe hotels, sumptuous dining options like Mawa's Kitchen and Acquolina, and charming boutiques. Aspen also has an impressive arts scene, with galleries and music and film events around the area to enjoy.

Maui, HI

Neora Aylon/Unsplash

Visiting Maui in November is the perfect serene escape with fewer crowds and more affordable stays. Wailea’s Restaurant Week (Nov. 5-11) offers gourmet dining at a fraction of the cost, and the Made in Maui Festival on the first of the month provides the perfect opportunity to find unique Hawaiian souvenirs. Catch a sunrise at Haleakalā, pop by Maui's delicious food trucks, or relax under swaying palms. November also marks the start of whale watching season. Catch a glimpse of migrating humpback whales along the peaceful shores.

Lisbon, Portugal

Tom Byrom/Unsplash

Lisbon in November offers the best blend of mild weather, fewer crowds, and more affordable prices. Explore the city’s landmarks, like the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, and hop the iconic canary-yellow Tram 28 through historic neighborhoods like Alfama and St. George's Castle. November is also an excellent time to enjoy Lisbon’s vibrant café culture and sample traditional pastries like pastéis de nata. Experience local festivals and events, such as St. Martin’s Day on November 11, which celebrates the end of the harvest. Lisbon’s charming cobblestoned streets, tiled hilltop homes, and relaxed pace make it a perfect crowd-free autumn getaway.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Shutterstock

In November, Chiang Mai transforms into a magical city with its Yi Peng and Loy Krathong festivals. Thousands of floating lanterns light up the sky during Yi Peng, while candle-lit boats, or krathongs, glide down rivers as part of Loy Krathong, both coinciding with the full moon. The city enjoys dry days and highs in the mid-80s, making it perfect for exploring over 300 temples, including Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh. Escape to the peaceful Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest peak, and after, head over to the bustling Chiang Mai Night Bazaar.

Key West, Florida

Shutterstock

Catch the perfect Key West weather in November with warm temperatures and low humidity. Enjoy outdoor activities like snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, sailing, or strolling around this charming city. Stop by historical sites like Ernest Hemingway’s homeand the iconic Southernmost Point. November also brings fewer tourists and fun events like the Key West Film Festival (November 18-22) and the Annual Stone Crab Eating Contest on November 4. With stunning sunsets, fresh seafood, and a laid-back vibe, Key West in November is the tropical paradise calling your name.

Palm Springs, CA

Aran Mtnez/Unsplash

The November temperatures in Palm Springs hover around 78 degrees, making it an ideal time to explore the area. Stay at the Saguaro Palm Springs (shown) for a colorful yet affordable option (under $200/night). Hike scenic trails in nearby Joshua Tree National Park or take a short drive to Borrego Springs for amazing stargazing under the clear desert skies. The city’s gorgeous mid-century architecture shines this time of year, as does its lively arts scene. Bring the girls for a spa trip and enjoy gourmet dining for a luxe desert retreat during the more comfortable fall season.

Canary Islands

Eugen Sacalî/Unsplash

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, is a dreamy destination in November. Tenerife, the largest island, offers famous beaches and some of the best stargazing in the world. Explore the colonial architecture of La Laguna and La Orotava, or enjoy fresh seafood in the quiet fishing village of Garachico. The island’s volcanic interior provides stunning landscapes perfect for hiking, while Santa Cruz offers a taste of modern art and architecture. November is also ideal for whale watching, but make sure to seek tours with certifications, like Whale Wise Eco Tours, which use solar-powered boats.

New Zealand

Shutterstock

November in New Zealand kicks off the beginning of spring, making it the perfect time to explore its natural beauty, from the vibrant green hills of Hobbiton to the dramatic fjords of Milford Sound to the big cities like Auckland and Queenstown. Enjoy hiking, cycling, and water sports, and wine tasting. Just a short ferry ride away from Auckland is Waiheke Island, known for its vineyards, beaches, and art galleries. Hike up Mount Eden too, anextinct volcano for stunning views of the city.

Gretchen Weiners' hair might be full of secrets in Mean Girls, but in Amanda Seyfried's new movie, her life is full of secrets. The Housemaid, based on the novel by Freida McFadden, follows Millie (played by Sydney Sweeney), who's down on her luck and in desperate need of a fresh start. But all is not as it seems — and it doesn't take long for Millie to realize Nina's secrets are the most dangerous thing about her.

The book, which has sold over 3.6 million copies, has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for over a year and Amazon's Bestsellers list for 98 weeks (talk about popular). Yes, Deadline announced on October 8 that The Housemaid would become a film, thanks to Hidden Pictures and Lionsgate. Paul Feig will direct, Rebecca Sonnenshine will write the script, and Todd Lieberman, Laura Fischer, and Feig will produce while Alex Young, author Freida McFadden, Sydney Sweeney, and Amanda Seyfried will executive produce.

“I’m thrilled to have The Housemaid join our upcoming slate,” said Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “A great filmmaker and a great cast with a great script from a great book is a terrific place to start.”

“Part of the fun of the book was imagining the cast while we read it, and Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are perfect for Millie and Nina – they’re both mysterious, nuanced, and incredibly skilled at becoming characters who don’t reveal everything right away,” said Erin Westerman, co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.

There is some sex and violence in The Housemaid, but it's not as overwhelming as some other popular books on the market. One Goodreads user compares the content to what you'd watch in Law & Order: SVU or Criminal Minds. Despite his (very) questionable communication tactics, the world was immediately enraptured with Jeremy Allen White's Carmy when The Bear premiered on FX in 2022. And thanks to the show, and its various Emmy Awards, Carmy and his blue apron are instantly recognizable, as is Jeremy Allen White's next role: Bruce Springsteen.

The biopic joins a lineup of other highly anticipated movies like Timothée Chalamet's A Complete Unknown, about Bob Dylan, Selena Gomez's upcoming Linda Ronstadt biopic, and Paul Mescal's rumored role in the Beatles movies. And in addition to White's excitement for Deliver Me From Nowhere, the movie also has The Boss' stamp of approval! Here's everything we know about the upcoming movie.

See The First Look Of Jeremy Allen White As Bruce Springsteen!

20th Century Fox

The first look at Deliver Me From nowhere is a shot of Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in a plaid shirt and leather jacket. The whole effect looks like an old polaroid, and (more importantly) is incredibly attractive.

“Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey," writer-director Scott Cooper says in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Nebraska’ has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience. It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Bruce and Jon [Landau] as I tell their story, and their creative energy fuels every part of this journey. As well, I’m excited to reunite with my friend, David Greenbaum [president, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios], as he embarks on his new role at Disney, adding another layer of inspiration to this project.”

What has Bruce Springsteen said about the movie?

It could be a very strange experience to have your life turned into a movie, but Bruce Springsteen seems to be having a great time. “It’s a lovely cast and I am involved a little,” he said on the Graham Norton Show (via People).

He also doesn't shy away from the fact that Jeremy Allen White's performance won't be exactly the same because "you can’t do an imitation, you have to do a personal interpretation."

“It’s difficult but he is a great actor and sings pretty good," he continues.

Will there be a Bruce Springsteen biopic?

Columbia/Sony Music Publishing

Deliver Me From Nowhere Plot

Yes, a Bruce Springsteen movie is on its way! Deliver Me From Nowhere will follow Warren Zanes' book of the same name, which chronicles the process of creating Bruce's 1982 album Nebraska. The movie comes from 20th Century Studios, who's behind other smash hits like Avatar: The Way of Water, The French Dispatch, and Alien: Romulus.

“Bruce Springsteen, and Nebraska, in particular, have had a profound impact on me and my work. Through themes of despair, disillusionment, and the struggles of everyday Americans, Bruce has formed an unparalleled legacy, painting an unflinching portrait of the human condition,” director Scott Cooper said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Yet, amidst the darkness, a sense of resilience and a sense of hope shines through, reflecting an indomitable spirit. That’s the Bruce I’ve come to know and love and will honor with this film.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere Cast

Jeremy Allen White stars as rock icon Bruce Springsteen. “I’ve got a really beautiful team of people helping me and Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available, which has made this whole process an extra joy," Jeremy Allen White told Deadline in September 2024. "His support and Jon Landau, his management's, support, who has a large role in the film as well. So I feel really lucky.”

He also told Variety in June that he's “gonna try [his] best" to do his own singing in the movie.

Jeremy is joined by Odessa Young, who's playing one of Bruce Springsteen's love interests. Since she nabbed a spot in the film, she's been “weeping multiple times a day, but tells Variety she hasn't met the rockstar yet. “I really think that it will send me down a path for which there is no return,” she says. “Like I cannot come back from that experience as the same person.”
