24 DIY Tables for Every Size Apartment and Home

It’s time to do something about the boring table you look at every day. Whether it’s a dining table you found at a thrift store, an IKEA coffee table or a box you’re using as a bedside table, you can do better. Make something new and interesting by recycling old things that you don’t use anymore, adding new legs to a table you already have or just covering everything in spray paint. Whether you’re into concrete, copper or natural wood, these 20 DIY tables not only will save you money, but will be a completely unique piece of furniture that has all the personality that only you can bring to the table (see what we did there?).

1. Golden Treasure Table: A trophy-shaped table is perfect for slipping into awkward corners where a square table wouldn’t fit. Can you believe it’s made out of a pot and a bowl? (via Brit + Co)

2. Stencil Table: Download the Otomi-embroidery-inspired pattern or make up your own. Then have a grand old time creating a colorful table top that is uniquely you. (via Hi Sugar Plum)

3. Malachite Tabletop: Decoupage just went all grown-up with this fancy project. Use whatever contact paper catches your eye to get the perfect design for your room. (via One Kings Lane)

4. Tile Outdoor Table: Give an old table you already have a makeover with a couple pieces of mosaic tile. The pretty blues and greens make us feel like we’re sitting poolside… even if there isn’t actually a pool. (via Centsational Girl)

5. Clear Top Pallet Table: Pallet tables are a popular DIY project, but yours will stand way above the rest with an elegant glass top. Paint the pieces bright, summery colors and add colorful cushions for a little extra comfort. When you’re hosting dinner parties, you can use the area under the glass for storage or decorate it to match the party’s theme. (via Brit + Co)

6. Triangle Side Tables: Attach triangular pieces of reclaimed wood to steel pipes and then paint the pipes gold. Add an extra little shelf on the bottom for a cute addition that’s also functional. (via Home Depot)

7. Stump Table: Flatten the end of a stump and attach a wooden wheel to make the top. If you’re wanting to take this inside, make sure you let the stump completely dry out so you don’t end up with unwanted creepy crawlies. (via Home Depot)

8. IKEA Bedside Hack: The simple act of staining inexpensive IKEA tables turns them into something you might actually want to keep around for quite a while. The white top is the perfect accent for displaying little knickknacks or a lamp. (via The Lovely Drawer)

9. Marble and Copper: These two textures are still trending hard, and for good reason: They just look so great together. Add a bit of industrial glam to your room with this fairly simple DIY that only involves some glue and putting together copper piping. (via A Joyful Riot)

10. Dipped in Gold: Because everything is a little bit better when it’s been dipped in gold, especially thrift store tables. (via Sarah Hearts)

11. Wooden Crate Side Table: Dress up a vintage wooden crate with some legs and you’ve got a great side table or even bedside table. If you don’t want to show off all your collectibles, a colorful box is a clever way to keep things hidden while styling the side table. (via eHow)

12. Lightweight Cement Side Table: We love all things cement, but if you’re thinking this table will never move out of your house, don’t worry. Instead of making a block of concrete, this table is just coated to give that cool, slate texture without any extra weight. (via A Beautiful Mess)

13. Bookshelf Side Table: So you want to build a table, but you have no skills with power tools? Hey, that’s okay, because all you need for this DIY are pallets, spray paint and glue. Just paint ’em and stack ’em for an overnight table that will completely transform your room. (via Brit + Co)

14. Hanging Side Table: Whether you’re running short on floor space or decorating funds, a hanging table is a pretty cool way to add some character to the room, as well as a place to set your phone and a good book at night. (via Hello Natural)

15. DIY Timber Side Table: Even though it looks like one solid chunk of wood, it’s actually made out of four separate pieces, creating a really pretty woodgrain pattern on the top. (via Francois et Moi)

16. Chalk Paint Side Table: Restyle a drab kitchen stool into a creative mini table with just the tiniest bit of glam. (via Blitsy)

17. Midcentury Pastels: Is it just us or does that pastel pink layer remind you of a delicious, sugary cookie filling? Simple to DIY and budget friendly, this charming little table has just enough room to keep the TV remote and a few other things neatly hidden out of sight. (via Sugar and Cloth)

18. Natural Beauty: Let nature take the lead with this table and just apply the lightest layer of white paint to seal the wood and show off that gorgeous wooden texture. (via Atilio)

19. Copper Pipe Side Table: Need a teeny tiny table for your teeny tiny apartment? This stylish little number is just big enough for the tightest of studio spaces, and is perfect for a succulent garden or next to the couch when you don’t have room for a side table. (via Brit + C0)

20. Hairpin Dining Table: The dark wood top makes a stunning contrast to the minimal and modern gold hairpin legs. Such a sleek dining table looks great with white, Scandinavian-type decor but would also be fun with some colorful retro chairs. (via Atilio)

21. Hairpin Coffee Table: Depending on how many supplies you have on hand at home, you can make this table for under $100. Simple, elegant and perfect for any style room, there is no limit to how many customized options you could do with this table. (via Ella Vine and Co.)

22. Concrete Pedestal Table: Screw a plastic trash can to a wooden table top, cover the whole thing with $5 worth of concrete and ta-da! You’ve got a real show-stopping pedestal table for your room. (via Red House West)

23. Zen Table: Doesn’t this make you want to play a game of Jenga? This table definitely won’t come apart if you try to slide out the pieces, but it will collect a lot of compliments, especially when you tell everyone you made it yourself. (via A Beautiful Mess)

24. Patterned Coffee Table: Maybe you don’t need to DIY a whole new table, but just need to add some personality to the one you already have. Download this playful geometric pattern and paint it onto your table top with all your favorite colors. (via Brit + Co)

If you can't stop talking about Severance season 2, you're not alone. The Apple TV+ show has totally taken over the internet (and all my group chats) and as the mysteries at Lumon continue to unfold, there's one heartbreaking, viral theory surrounding this week's episode, and Gemma, that has the internet in a tizzy.

Keep reading for the most insane Severance season 2, episode 9 theory on the internet.

Has Gemma been an innie the whole time?

Apple TV

TikTok user @msauroraalice made the connection that Severance season 2 episode 9, "The After Hours," has the same title as a specific Twilight Zone episode in which a mannequin, well, forgets she's a mannequin. And now we're all wondering whether Severance is going to reveal a very similar plotline with Gemma.

"Could Gemma have been manufactured at Lumon and all of her experience with Mark is just a severed version of herself," @msauroraalice says, theorizing that "there is no Gemma."

"I bet this next episode, Gemma or Helly has a horrifying discovery about themselves just like the mannequin realizing she's not even alive," she continues.

Clearly, this Twilight Zone episode has a ton of similarities to Severance, with the split identities of it all. And as one Reddit user just made it even more heartbreaking by saying, "She could be an experiment from the very start which is why they went as far as to fake her death and recruit Mark to work for them. That would be heartbreaking. It would mean Mark and Gemma 's relationship was manufactured from the beginning."

"The After Hours" is sure to set us up for a crazy 'Severance' season 2 finale.

Apple TV

After everything Mark has been through, this would truly be a heartbreaking turn of events and I don't know if I could handle it! I'm not alone, either. TikTok users flooded the comments of the post (which has over 900K views).

"If Gemma was never a full person to begin with I'm gonna lose my mind," one user said, while another theorized, "I think Gemma is real but she actually died. Lumon had plans for her to begin with so they revived her body because they effectively own it and now she's stuck in purgatory testing."

But if this Severance theory breaks your heart as much as it breaks mine, there's a silver lining. "The next episode after 'The After Hours' from TWZ is called 'The Mighty Casey' and is about a robot who becomes more human I believe," a third TikTok user says.

But honestly, emotional devastation — and peeling back a character's insecurities, fears, and heartbreak to get to their core — make for really good TV because of how relatable those moments can be. So we'll just have to see what the Severance season 2 finale has in store.

Here are 10 Questions I Need Severance Season 2 To Answer — let us know on Instagram what kinds of questions and theories you have.
