13 Buys and DIYs Every Tea Lover Needs

We all have that friend. The one with cupboards full of loose leaf and boxes full of bags. The one with a million stains on their counters and tables from tea bags left too long. The kind who loves nothing more than opening a canister to get a sniff while the kettle boils. So when you're looking for a gift for the tea lovers in your life, why not embrace their passion with the same gusto! We've got 12 ideas that you can make or buy that will send them running for hot water.

Luanne Tea Kettle ($38): There's something to be said for the old fashioned whistle of a kettle on the stove — especially one this lovely.

3D Clay Mugs: Tea cups — although beautiful — are no match for a big mug of the good stuff. Have some fun with them by adding a textured pattern. (via Studio DIY)
Gold Dipped Spoons: Everyone who enjoys a cuppa knows how important the spoons are to the whole song & dance. You need one for stirring, one for sugar, and one to rest your tea bag on. Come to think of it, a set of three is the only acceptable number to give! (via Sarah Hearts)
TRÅDLÖS ($3): When you're working with loose leaf, you need a way to measure your servings. That's where the gold scoop comes in! And this one happens to come with a handy-dandy honey dipper.
Stencilled Tea Towels: These are a good gift for literally anyone, but tea lovers will put them to good use for sure. (via Handmade Charlotte)
DIY Tub Tea: What's better than a cup of tea in the bath? Having a cup of tea in the bath with tub tea in the bath! (via Hello Glow)
DIY Tea Cozy: Have you ever actually seen a tea cozy in a store? Save yourself the trouble of looking, and just make one you know they'll love. (via Dans Le Lakehouse)
Elephant Stainless Steel and Silicone Loose Leaf Tea Infuser ($10): Does it get any cuter? No. Do you need one for yourself as well? Absolutely.
DIY Felted Rainbow Trivet: Where else are they gonna put the pot when it's hot? (via A Kailo Chic Life)
Be Mine Spoons: For the record, chocolate goes with everything, and we've already established that spoons are essential. This gift brings it alllll together. (via A Joyful Riot)
Hot Tea Coasters: Glitter is always a good idea, and once you start adding in puns, you've got crafting gold. (via We're Going To Make It)
Tea Leaf Reading: A Divination Guide for the Bottom of Your Cup ($6): For your more #spiritual boo, a way to divine the future! If they see a black dog in the leaves you know it's time to open your Harry Potter for reference.

Valentine’s Day is all about love, but let’s be real: some gifts just don’t say “I adore you” the way they used to! While romancenever goes out of style, it’s easy for certain Valentine’s Day gifts to feel more like a last-minute grabthan a compassionate, heartfelt expression of love.

If you want to impress your special someone this Valentine's Day, it’s time to retire these 7 “outdated” and overdone gifts that scream predictable.

Scroll on for the 7 “outdated” Valentine’s Day gifts you should definitely skip this year – and what to give instead!

The Glorious Studio / PEXELS

1. Heart-shaped jewelry

Now don’t get me wrong – heart-shaped jewelry can be super cute, but oftentimes, it can feel a little cheesy and predictable for Valentine’s Day.

Instead, consider your Valentine’s personal interests and search for some jewelry that way. Whether it’s sports, animals, or astrology, you’ll surely be able to find something that suits them more closely.

Hassan Ouajbir / PEXELS

2. Huge teddy bears

Those big teddies – or even just the cheap stuffed animals from the drugstore – are not practical whatsoever and tend to collect dust. Unless you know of a very specific plush that your Valentine's been wanting, it’s okay to skip the stuffed animals.

Picjumbo / PEXELS

3. A dozen roses

While red roses can be a romantic gesture, there are so many other flowers to consider. Roses are simply generic AF and very expected – instead, get to the bottom of what your Valentine’s favorite flower is and run with that! From lilies to mums, you could even create your own bouquet with just a little extra effort.

Ksenia Chernaya / PEXELS

4. Fake plants

The same idea goes for fake plants. Why invest in a fake plant when a real one can be so much more meaningful? This way, every time your Valentine goes to water the plant you gave them, they’ll be thinking of you. ❤️

5. Matching gifts

Matching t-shirts, mugs, socks, and the like are honestly pretty cringeworthy, unless you’re really into them. Your Valentine will definitely appreciate a unique gift a lot more this year.

Amazon

6. Cheap chocolates

Cheap chocolates are good for a last-minute gift, but if you want your gift to feel special to your Valentine, please take the extra time (and money!) to opt for a fancier box. They’ll look better and taste better.

Jill Wellington / PEXELS

7. Anything impersonal

All of this goes to say that anything impersonal makes a cliche and outdated Valentine’s Day gift. You don’t even have to go insanely above and beyond for your date this year – just a little extra consideration will definitely make them feel loved.

If you can't stop talking about Severance season 2, you're not alone. The Apple TV+ show has totally taken over the internet (and all my group chats) and as the mysteries at Lumon continue to unfold, there's one heartbreaking, viral theory surrounding this week's episode, and Gemma, that has the internet in a tizzy.

Keep reading for the most insane Severance season 2, episode 9 theory on the internet.

Has Gemma been an innie the whole time?

Apple TV

TikTok user @msauroraalice made the connection that Severance season 2 episode 9, "The After Hours," has the same title as a specific Twilight Zone episode in which a mannequin, well, forgets she's a mannequin. And now we're all wondering whether Severance is going to reveal a very similar plotline with Gemma.

"Could Gemma have been manufactured at Lumon and all of her experience with Mark is just a severed version of herself," @msauroraalice says, theorizing that "there is no Gemma."

"I bet this next episode, Gemma or Helly has a horrifying discovery about themselves just like the mannequin realizing she's not even alive," she continues.

Clearly, this Twilight Zone episode has a ton of similarities to Severance, with the split identities of it all. And as one Reddit user just made it even more heartbreaking by saying, "She could be an experiment from the very start which is why they went as far as to fake her death and recruit Mark to work for them. That would be heartbreaking. It would mean Mark and Gemma 's relationship was manufactured from the beginning."

"The After Hours" is sure to set us up for a crazy 'Severance' season 2 finale.

Apple TV

After everything Mark has been through, this would truly be a heartbreaking turn of events and I don't know if I could handle it! I'm not alone, either. TikTok users flooded the comments of the post (which has over 900K views).

"If Gemma was never a full person to begin with I'm gonna lose my mind," one user said, while another theorized, "I think Gemma is real but she actually died. Lumon had plans for her to begin with so they revived her body because they effectively own it and now she's stuck in purgatory testing."

But if this Severance theory breaks your heart as much as it breaks mine, there's a silver lining. "The next episode after 'The After Hours' from TWZ is called 'The Mighty Casey' and is about a robot who becomes more human I believe," a third TikTok user says.

But honestly, emotional devastation — and peeling back a character's insecurities, fears, and heartbreak to get to their core — make for really good TV because of how relatable those moments can be. So we'll just have to see what the Severance season 2 finale has in store.

Here are 10 Questions I Need Severance Season 2 To Answer — let us know on Instagram what kinds of questions and theories you have.
