15 Easy Breakfasts You Can Make in Your Toaster Oven

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why are we settling for a package of oatmeal or a plain-ass greek yogurt in the morning? While those two options are the easiest on-the-go breakfast choices, they get really boring really quickly. If you’re feeling fancy, you could make a sandwich for breakfast. If you’re trying to stay healthy but can’t even look at another egg, there are many alternatives. Or, if you’re like us, and you want a breakfast that is anything but boring, you need an easy recipe you can make in the toaster oven. Wake up a little earlier than usual and treat yourself to one of these killer toaster oven breakfasts.

1. Cinnamon, Ginger + Brown Sugar Grapefruit: If you’re one of those people who likes a flavor punch to start to your morning, then this recipe is for you. The sharp taste of the citrus combines with the sweet taste of the brown sugar to give you a well-balanced breakfast. (Photo via Jocelyn Hsu)

2. Personalized Pop-Tarts: Nothing is more tragic than opening a package of Pop-Tarts and only being able to eat one of them, because then you have a difficult decision to make — either let it go stale or eat it and give yourself a sugar high that will probably last three days. But you’ll never have to deal with that dilemma again once you make your own Pop-Tarts. (Video via Samantha Ho)

3. Toasted Coconut + White Chocolate Cookies: Technically, a coconut can be considered a fruit AND a nut, so you get a two-for-one deal with this recipe. Some people might say the nutritional value of coconut significantly decreases when you make it into a cookie, but those people just don’t know how to live. (Photo via Abigail Wang)

4. Bacon, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Hash: What happens when you combine some of life’s greatest foods? You get this epic bacon, egg and cheese breakfast hash. The savory mix of ingredients in this well-balanced breakfast will have you ready for anything life throws your way. Just dump it all on a piece of aluminum foil and throw it in the toaster oven to eat like a pro. (Video via Rob Arrasate)

5. Cinnamon Roll Cookies: Sometimes you just wake up craving something sweet, and there should be no shame or blame in that — so we’ve got you covered. If you’re not feeling a whole cinnamon roll, just condense it into a cookie to munch on while you watch those Saturday morning cartoons. (Photo via Max Bartick)

6. Bacon, Egg and Toast Cups: Imagine eating equal parts bacon and egg in every bite you take. Well, we just made that possible with these bacon and egg toast cups. Anyone and everyone will love these, unless they’re a breakfast hater. (Photo via Emily Hu)

7. Shakshuka Avocado: If you have yet to ever try an eggocado, you’re missing out on a delicious meal. However, time moves on and things evolve. This shakshuka avocado recipe has such an amazing blend of flavors, you won’t know what to feel — but you’ll know it is amazing. The mixture of creamy avocado, baked egg, tangy sauce and rich cheese is all you’ve ever needed in life. You’re welcome. (Photo via Rob Arrasate)

8. S’mores Stuffed French Toast: What do you do when it’s the middle of the winter and you’re craving s’mores? We all know you’re not about to build a campfire if the temperature is below zero, so just heat up your toaster oven and make this recipe instead. (Video via Rob Arraste)

9. DIY Cookie Crisp Cereal: Cookie Crisp cereal is the reason kids around the world can get away with eating cookies for breakfast, and the reason we’ve included so many cookie recipes in this roundup. There is no better way to start your day than with an extreme sugar rush, so kick your week off right with this recipe. (Photo via Dylan Barth)

10. Bacon, Egg and Cheese Cookie: If want to try your favorite breakfast combination in a different form, this recipe is sure to please. Bet you never thought you’d be able to achieve solid #yolkporn on top of a cookie. (Photo via Elena Besser)

11. Savory Monkey Bread: Pulling apart your food is always awesome. When it’s something as savory as this breakfast monkey bread, it gets so much better. Go HAM on this warm, cheesy, bacon-filled sucker. Be prepared to slap some hands away from this dish. Better yet, eat it alone. (Photo via Rob Arrasate)

12. Hot Chocolate Cookies: If you’re a coffee person but find yourself craving hot chocolate on a cold morning in the middle of winter, you could have a problem. Unless you feel like holding a mug in each hand, just transform your hot chocolate into a cookie with this recipe and all your problems are solved. (Photo via Samantha Klein)

13. French Toast Bites: You know it’s going to be a good day when you start it with French toast. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to a stove, or the time to make this breakfast treat the best it can be. As it turns out, all you need to make French toast on the go is a toaster oven and some tinfoil. (Video via Thomas Sireci)

14. Peanut Butter + Jelly Banana Boats: Bread is overrated and full of carbs, so why not replace it with a banana and pop it into the toaster oven? Now you have an excuse to make the classic PB&J combination at any time of day with these instructions. (Photo via Thomas Sireci)

15. Roasted Nuts: Start your morning with a hearty serving of protein by tossing your favorite kind of nuts into the oven and roasting them. This makes them even more fragrant and flavorful than when they’re raw — and who doesn’t want their kitchen to smell like almonds? (Photo via Kirby Barth)

As much as I adore coffee, you could not convince me to drink it black. I like my drinks sweet (but not too sweet) and creamy (but not too creamy), with plenty of flavor that doesn’t drown out the actual coffee notes. But sometimes, the classic coffee-creamer combo gets old and I need a way to spice up my morning joe. Luckily, there are endless ways to upgrade coffee that take your brew from boring to beautiful.

I polled my inner circle (we’re all coffee snobs to a degree) about their #1 favorite add-in that truly makes their coffee shine. These 6 simple coffee upgrades are all affordable, easy, and compatible with all kinds of brewing methods. Next time your pick-me-up needs a pick-me-up, try out one of these hacks!

Brigitte Tohm / PEXELS

1. Lavender

Lavender in a latte is sheer heaven. I’ve DIY’ed my own lavender syrup before (it’s too easy), but you can also buy it ready-made! Any sort of syrup makes for an easy coffee upgrade, really. Brands like Jordan's Skinny Mixes and Torani are my go-to’s, and they sell a vast array of flavors to suit any taste!

Lisa Fotios / PEXELS

2. Cinnamon

I’m convinced cinnamon belongs in everything. I put it in my protein pancakes, yogurt bowls, and cookies, but it’s also a supreme add-in for coffee and even matcha lattes! The warm flavor notes of cinnamon are also perfect for cozying up in the fall and winter.

Julissa Helmuth / PEXELS

3. Honey

Cinnamon in coffee gets even better when you put honey in the mix with cinnamon. It’s one of my pal’s absolute go-to’s in lattes (hot or iced), but it also works just as well in hot drip coffees or cold brews.

Andrea Davis / PEXELS

4. Oat milk

Oat milk (or milk of any kind) is a perfect coffee hack for those who can’t stand black coffee. It helps cut the sharpness and acidity of the brew, adding some creaminess and color to each sip. I find that oat milk is the best pairing for breakfast time!

Amazon

5. Protein shake

In place of milk, I also really like adding a splash of a protein shake to my coffee for a dose of creaminess and flavor. The protein is just an added bonus!

I really love Koia’s protein shakes since they sell a lot of different flavors, from Cinnamon Cereal to Pumpkin Spice.

JaYoung Choi / PEXELS

6. Brown sugar

I’ve used brown sugar many times to make a Starbucks copycat brown sugar shaken espresso right at home. I’ll simply add equal parts instant coffee and brown sugar to a mason jar with ice, shake it up, and top it off with cinnamon and milk.

If you prefer sipping on something a little less fancy, adding a spoonful to a plain hot coffee could be really delightful, too!

Target

7. Cold foam

The final (and tastiest) coffee hack I drink on the regular is cold foam! Target sells a good range of cold foam cans in various flavors, but I’ve really come to love the salted caramel iteration. It’s perfect for topping of iced coffees for a nice mid-day treat!

Exes Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa are back at HGTV, but this time they're competing against each other...alongside Tarek's wife Heather El Moussa. And if you think that's a lot to unpack, get ready! The first episode aired last night (January 29), and it's clear the former spouses aren't just in it for the real estate wins — they're finally opening up about their divorce, Christina's most recent divorce, and more. Their tearful confessions simultaneously broke and mending our hearts last night. Here's what they had to say.

Scroll to see what Christina Haack & Tarek El Moussa shared on The Flip Off.

- YouTube

In the first episode of The Flip Off, Christina shared with Tarek that she and Josh Hall officially split, tearfully admitting that she quickly gets into relationships that "aren't right" for her and noting how "horrible" everything's been for her since their divorce in 2016

As Christina and Tarek opened up to one another, the exes eventually came to forgive each other. Christina said, "I know we’re in a good place now, but yeah, we went through a lot of stuff. I don’t think anyone understands just how much stuff we went through. We met when we were so young."

Christina shared that Tarek was her "best friend" before the divorce, and that afterward she lost that and had to be a full-time mom — both of which "really, really, really hurt" her "really affected" her. Afterwards, Tarek said, "I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost. And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this."

In a pivotal moment — for Christina and Tarek, but really all of us as fans — she said, "I’m really sorry for s---. I really am. I just want you to know that." Tarek took her knee during the apology, and Christina then asked, "You forgive me?"

Tarek's response? "A hundred percent, yeah."

And it wasn't just Christina apologizing either. Tarek said that he "did a lot of things" too, noting that he "holds zero against" her. In his confessional, Tarek opened up more about the cause for their split. He said, "I got diagnosed with cancer and then I hurt my back. I lost 60 lbs. because I was taking so many opiates and Vicodin and painkillers. I lost my way, lost who I was. I just wasn’t the best husband. I wasn’t the best father. You know, I own my s---. It wasn’t me, but it was me."

In the emotional conversation, Christina told Tarek, "You’re a great dad. I’m really proud of you. You’ve come a really long way. I can see it, you know. You’re so much calmer, you’re so much wiser, for real."

To see these two grow to love and support each other in a new way is truly beautiful! (And so are the houses they continue to flip. 😉)

You can catch The Flip Off on HGTV every Wednesday at 8pm EST.

You may get some of these elements, but these darker tales of love aren't afraid to explore eery topics that keep you on the edge of your seat. Looking for some sultry page-turners to pick up? Spicy feta cheese and a carefully selected variety of veggies prove that crudité doesn’t have to be boring. Your vegetarian party guests will thank you for this one! (via The View From Great Island)

Cotter Crunch

Air Fryer Cajun Sausage Bites

Fiery homemade sausage bites are more flavorful than what you can buy in a plastic tube, and you can cook them in the air fryer to reduce the amount of oil needed to cook them until crispy on the outside. (via Cotter Crunch)

The Original Dish

Cornmeal Popovers with Herb Honey Butter

The herby honey butter that partners up with these one-bite appetizers is so good. It really elevates the snack to a higher level. Score! (via The Original Dish)

Give it Some Thyme

Marinated Tortellini Skewers

Transform tortellini from entrée to appetizer by marinating the cooked pasta in an herb-infused olive oil mix and threading it onto skewers along with mozzarella, peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil. This is one of the best Super Bowl appetizers that's giving elegance. (via Give it Some Thyme)

My Food Story

Sticky Thai Meatballs

Keep the grape jelly and ketchup where they belong — far away from your meatballs. Instead, opt for a recipe that uses dynamic flavors like Thai curry paste, ginger, and fish sauce to season the meal. This one also combines chili flakes, soy, rice vinegar, and honey for the sticky-sweet sauce. (via My Food Story)

Savory Tooth

Low-Carb Parmesan Crisps

Impress your friends with a batch of homemade Parmesan crisps that'll use up that bag of shredded cheese in your fridge. They’re low-carb, which means you can eat… all of them, right?! (via Savory Tooth)

Half Baked Harvest

Ginger Sesame Chicken Potstickers

There are two things that set these juicy chicken potstickers apart. First, they’re encrusted with sesame seeds, so the bottoms are extra-crunchy. And second, they’re dunked into a sticky pomegranate sauce for an unexpected burst of fruity flavor with each bite! (via Half Baked Harvest)

Skinny Taste

Instant Pot Deviled Eggs

Every Super Bowl party needs a tray of deviled eggs, which are usually still the first thing to go from the snack bar! Make a big batch in your Instant Pot and keep the stovetop free for whipping up a pot of your famous game day chili. (via Skinny Taste)

Half Baked Harvest

Fried Goat Cheese Balls with Spicy Sage Honey

Instead of baking the usual fried mozzarella sticks this year, try this fried goat cheese recipe instead! The spicy sage honey sauce makes it a perfect mix of sweet and savory. Your guests won't be able to get enough! (via Half Baked Harvest)

Two Peas & Their Pod
