Ed Sheeran Just Announced His Engagement in the Sweetest Way Possible

2017 was quite the rollercoaster of a year for Ed Sheeran. Between fracturing both of his arms, revealing that he once battled substance abuse, and becoming the center of a Taylor Swift conspiracy theory, there were plenty of ups and down to be had. He’s starting 2018 off on a MAJOR high, however, as the 26-year-old has just revealed that he’s engaged!

Taking to Instagram to show off an adorbs photo of himself kissing longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, wrapping his arms around her as she smiles from ear to ear, the Grammy winner (who has been the subject of engagement speculation for some time now) confirmed the news was the real deal this time around, saying, “Got myself a fiancée just before new year.”

The songwriter then gave us a big dose of signature Sheeran humor, adding, “We are very happy and in love, and our cats [Calipo and Dorito] are chuffed as well xx.”

Adding to the adorableness of the scene was the fact that, as fans soon noticed, the British crooner’s fiancée was also wearing one of his old sweaters. Awwww!

The “Shape of You” singer and 25-year-old Seaborn, who works as a risk advisory consultant, have known each other since they were kids, but only began dating in 2015. In March, he shared the details of their dreamy love story with People, revealing, “I’ve known Cherry since I was 11. She worked on Wall Street in New York, and I had like six shows [around New York in 2015]. It was around then, and we reconnected.”

Congrats to the happy couple!

If you’re one of those people who lives to create show-stopping couples costumes with your S.O. every year, then you’re in luck, because Harley Quinn and the Joker from Suicide Squad are the couple of the year, with their oddly heartfelt, twisted unity. Especially thanks to Joker 2 (okay, I know it's not the same Joker and Harley Quinn, but anything is possible in the multiverse, right?)

These two each have a chaotic history individually, but when the stars aligned to create their serendipitous love story, we couldn’t help but have a little empathy and fall in love with this quirky, villainous couple. This is what happens when being bad feels and looks so good! Read on for our costume tips and tricks.

Brit + Co

It doesn't get more twisted than this!

Harley Quinn Costume

Brit + Co

You can choose to buy or DIY this look, or do a little of both (which I recommend). Think about time versus money for each piece and then decide what’s best for you. I will say that the wig, shirt, choker, glove, tights, and holster were super clutch to purchase. I did some finessing to make them look even more authentic.

For the rest of the look, I got items that were close, and then made the pieces I couldn’t find, like the shorts, shoes and various accessories. You can get the full lowdown on how I made the Harley Quinn costume here. Either way, once you build the look (hair and makeup included), simply get into character. I found this oddly natural for me to do (it’s one of those costumes that takes you there, ya know?!).

Joker Costume

Brit + Co

Believe it or not, all I had to purchase here was the maroon shirt, which I found at a thrift store. Zane owned the rest and your boo probably does too. This look is really about the makeup. You can get the full Joker tutorial here.

How to Be the Villainous Power Couple

Brit + Co

Depending on your mood and the type of party you’re attending, you can bring along some fun accessories. The trick to this look truly is getting into character. Zane had way too much fun with this knife! Yikes.

The perfect amount of crazy, sexy, and weird all wrapped into one look!

This post has been updated.

There’s nothing I love more than snuggling up on the couch in front of the TV with a fuzzy blanket wrapped around my shoulders and a warm beverage in hand — especially as we head into the colder months. But instead of watching the Hallmark Channel for hours on end (...guilty!), I can always go for a good romance film. What’s not to love? The adorable meet-cute, the swoon-worthy moments and the undeniable yet steamy chemistry that could be felt through the screen. With a few months left of 2024, there are so many upcoming romance films that I can’t wait to watch. (And yes, one of those movies just so happens to be We Live in Time starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.) So, get ready to feel all the feels because here is a complete list of the new romance movies coming out in 2024.

Joker: Folie à Deux - Coming to Theaters October 4, 2024

Warner Bros. Pictures

I know what you're thinking — Joker 2 isn't a romance! But TBH, Joker and Harley Quinn’s romance is unlike any love story we’ve ever seen before on the big screen. Their whirlwind of a romance begins at the Arkham State Hospital, where failed comedian/evil mastermind Arthur Fleck is being held as he awaits trial for the heinous crimes he committed as the Joker. While there, he meets a Dr. Harleen Quinzel. In an attempt to learn the inner workings of the Joker’s mind, she ultimately falls in love with him and becomes his unruly sidekick. And together, they wreak havoc on the city of Gotham. Name a better chaotic duo, I’ll wait.

Joker: Folie à Deux stars Lady Gaga, Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Harry Lawtey, Brendan Gleeson, and Steve Coogan.

We Live in Time - Coming to Theaters October 11, 2024

A24

Meet Almut and Tobias, who meet under less-than-ideal circumstances. But this very encounter blossoms into a decades-long relationship that brings its fair share of ups and downs. According to the film’s synopsis, the love story is told through “snapshots of their life together—falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family." And when they learn a hard truth that threatens their happiness, "they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken.” Excuse me while I go grab the tissues because I can already tell this romance is going to be a tear–jerker, for sure. Check out what Florence and Andrew had to say about creating their life together during a Q+A.

We Live in Time features a talented ensemble cast, including Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh, Marama Corlett, Nikhil Parmar, Aoife Hinds, and Adam James.

Lonely Planet - Premiering on Netflix October 11, 2024

Hilary Bronwyn Gale/Netflix

In this intoxicating romance drama, Laura Dern plays Katherine, a novelist who travels to Morocco to participate in a writer’s retreat. Hoping that a little peace and quiet will break her writer’s block, Katherine is eager to get some work done. The Big Little Lies star recently told Netflix, “Katherine has spent her life dedicated to narrative and therefore [hasn’t spent] much time looking at deep truth within. She is at a turning point in her life where she is looking for a softening and deeper understanding.” While at the retreat, she meets a dashing (and moody) young man named Owen Brophy, who is played by none other than Liam Hemsworth. What starts off as an innocent friendship turns into an enchanting love affair that neither of them can escape. Sounds like my kind of romance film.

Aside from Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth, Netflix’s Lonely Planet is set to star Diana Silvers, Rachida Brakni, Ben Youcef, and Adriano Giannini.

But that all changes when a teenager named Max, the son of a mega-famous musical duo, enrolls at his school and takes an interest in his music. This is what George has been WAITING for — his big break! However, George starts to question his feelings for Max when they start hanging out more and he finds himself torn between two scenarios. So, are George and Max meant to be more than just friends? Or is Max George’s one-way ticket to stardom?

While her life is in complete shambles, Ann, who's a yoga teacher, wants nothing more than to achieve inner peace. Aside from her family driving her insane, her love life is, for lack of a better word, an utter disaster. In turn, they set her up with a handsome divorcé/girl dad named Steve. When Ann meets Steve’s seven-year-old daughter Lily, she falls head over heels. But Lily is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her dad and Ann apart in true reverse-Parent Trap style.

Chosen Family stars Heather Graham, Julia Stiles, Andrea Savage, Thomas Lennon, John Brotherton, and Michael Gross.

But when news of their spontaneous elopement reaches Anora's parents in Russia, that fairytale is threatened when her parents return to New York to get the marriage annulled.

The Best Taylor Swift Halloween Costumes

VMAs Taylor

Taylor kills it at every red carpet she goes to and this houndstooth set is no exception. This look is not only comfy, but easy to DIY too. We swapped the joggers for a skirt but you pick whichever you like best. (Via Brit + Co)

"You Need To Calm Down"

Our favorite part about this costume is that each piece can be worn outside of Halloween. We know that retro 'do looks a bit complicated so here's a tutorial to help you out.

"Delicate"

Dance the night away in a flapper-esque tassel dress that Taylor would definitely approve.

The more color, the better, as far as we're concerned. Grab some glittery pink makeup to make a heart around your eye and if you're feeling adventurous, copy Taylor's dip-dye blue ends!

Grammy Taylor

We can't all get a designer dress but we can DIY one! There are a couple different ways you can do this. Try gathering a mini skirt, a tank, and a maxi skirt in similar shades of blue and then cut a slit in the maxi skirt so the mini can peek through. Or you can grab what you need in white and dye it to ensure it's all the same color. Don't forget the magenta heels!

Artist Of The Decade

From the glitter to the color combo, this look has to be in our top ten Taylor outfits. Entertainment Editor Chloe grabbed a gold sequin dress and pink cape for her Halloween costume! The only other things you need are a belt, gold boots, and red lipstick.

1989 (Taylor's Version)

Pay homage to this album — and its rerecording! — with any outfit from her 1989 world tour. They're all uh-maze-ing! We're obsessed with this sequin jacket.

70's Chic

If you're all about the 70s, grab a few pieces in the Midnights color palette that you can rock to work Monday morning and still want to wear once Halloween ends.

If Red (Taylor's Version) is your favorite album of all time, then you MUST grab a pair of heart sunglasses and an "A Lot Going On At The Moment" teeand sing your heart out. Bonus points if you can absolutely rock a fedora.

"All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) (From the Vault)"

We'll be the first to admit this song title can be hard to get right. But you know what's easy to get right? The costume Taylor wears while performing. All you need is a red sparkly duster!

"Illicit Affairs"

We haven't been able to stop thinking about the "August" to "Illicit Affairs" transition since Taylor's first concert in March of 2023. A flowing gown in purple (or cream, green, or blue) is a super easy Halloween costume you can rewear any time of year.

Fearless (Taylor's Version)

For Taylor Swift's golden era, grab a shimmery, tassel set (or that same dress from the 2019 AMA's costume) that will turn heads! Hair toss optional, but encouraged.

Midnights

The Midnights segment of the Eras Tour features a shimmery, bejeweled bodysuit in navy blue. Opt for a plain bathing suit (since they're not designed to need something overtop the way a bodysuit is), and if you're feeling artsy, cover it with rhinestones! If you're up for the challenge, we'd recommend using a needle and thread over glue to make sure everything stays secure.

Tortured Poets Department

The newest addition to the Eras Tour has insane visuals — and a memorable white gown with script all over it. All you need is an A-Line dress and some fabric paint markers.
