OMG, Jeremy Allen White's New Series Is For ‘Call Me By Your Name' Fans

Jeremy Allen White Enigma Variations

Jeremy Allen White is set to star in a developing Netflix limited series based on the André Aciman novel, Enigma Variations.

The title comes from the same author as Call Me by Your Name, which was adapted for film in 2017 and starred Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer with critical acclaim.

Enigma Variations, like Call Me by Your Name, explores romance and attraction through a queer lens, and White would depict a bisexual man if the project moves forward. We’ve never seen him in a queer role before, so this news is super exciting!

Jeremy Allen White will not only star in the series, but will also serve as an executive producer.

Enigma Variations, the namesake novel, is described as “a passionate portrait of love's contradictory power, in five illuminating stories.”

The book follows Paul and charts his experiences with several “consuming and covetous” loves. The story ultimately highlights the “transient” nature of Paul’s relationship with love, romance, and attraction while revealing his path to self-discovery.

Author of Enigma Variations André Aciman will executive produce alongside White. Aciman was involved in the film adaptation of his other title, Call Me by Your Name, which received impressive critical acclaim and even won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 90th Academy Awards.

FX

Per Variety, Enigma Variations is “currently in development” at Netflix, so it may be a while before we know the exact timeline for the series’ filming and release dates. Jeremy Allen White is the only actor attached to the project at the moment, but we can’t wait to see who else gets cast for the story.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Justin Baldoni (and his legal team) released footage from the It Ends With Us set. The video notes that this is in an attempt to "refute" Blake Lively's claims of sexual harassment against Justin in her lawsuit. Justin and his team claim, "The scene in question was designed to show the two characters falling in love and longing to be close to one another. Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism."

Since Justin put it out there, I gave it a watch to decide for myself what's really going on during these takes. Here's what I thought.

Here's what's going on in that Justin Baldoni & Blake LivelyIt Ends With Us video:

www.youtube.com

- YouTube
  • I immediately wish I had context for his direction of the scene past the screenplay notes. "Slow dance" and "completely in their own world" don't indicate any kissing other other similar intimate acts. If I knew what he said beforehand, it could be helpful to grasp the expectations of the scene, but that's cut out and we're dropped in the middle of filming this scene.
  • With that in mind, when Justin went in to seemingly kiss Blake during filming — and she doesn't reciprocate — it feels awkward. They're talking all throughout filming about what's going on around them, what they're doing, and whatnot, so why wouldn't he tell her ahead of time that he plans to kiss her? (Or better yet, ASK if he could kiss her)
  • When Blake suggests that they never actually kiss so they don't "give them [the audience] what they want," it feels like her setting a clear boundary. Lines can seem blurry when you're acting, so it's definitely important to understand boundaries when you're working with another actor in more intimate scenes.
  • Blake often dances away from Justin, giggling as she dodges his advances.
  • Then Justin starts going towards her neck — again, not directing that he's doing that or asking. I'll give him that he says, "Let's see this," the second time, and she willingly moves her hair for him there. But that seems to be the only real time he shares before he acts intimately in this scene.
  • Blake is friendly and laughing throughout the filming, but IMO that's on professionalism. He may be the director, but this is clearly a passion project for her that she takes a lot of pride in. Who among us hasn't smiled, giggled, and comforted someone else who was actually making us feel uncomfortable to get out of an awkward situation — especially in a work setting!
  • The conversation comparing their spouses feels forced. IDK it's just really awkward. You don't have to draw from your personal life to act out a scene.
  • "That's why we hired Jenny Slate — our noses match," may be a joke, but feels belittling. Jenny was really good in this movie, and she was clearly hired for more than her looks.
  • The continued neck activity and then saying her spray tan "smells good" is just so uncomfortable.
  • Why aren't there subtitles for the last section of this video? You can subtly hear some contention about "directing this," but there's not clearly outlined dialogue there. What was being said?

In response to the video, Blake's legal team told ET:

Justin Baldoni and his lawyer may hope that this latest stunt will get ahead of the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning. Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint. The video shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking with her out of character. Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy coordinator present. Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, but the director, the head of studio and Ms. Lively’s boss.

The video shows Ms. Lively leaning away and repeatedly asking for the characters to just talk. Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort. They will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent.

This matter is in active litigation in federal court. Releasing this video to the media, rather than presenting it as evidence in court, is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public. It is also a continuation of their harassment and retaliatory campaign. While they are focused on misleading media narratives, we are focused on the legal process. We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts.

So what do you think? Does this video prove Blake lied about those sexual harassment claims? Or does it prove exactly what she was trying to address?

The Yellowjackets season 3season 3 trailer is officially out, and I honestly can't believe what I just watched. This show honestly gets wilder and wilder with every episode, and each second of the trailer proves that even more. From the girls giving themselves over to the woods to their adult counterparts further unraveling this insane mystery to...Hilary Swank?! Needless to say, there's a lot to unpack here. Let's get into it!

Watch the Yellowjacketsseason 3 trailer here!

www.youtube.com

- YouTube
There's seriously so much going on in this trailer, so here's every unhinged, unfiltered thought I had while watching it.
  • "Bodies" is an interesting way to start the trailer...really, any trailer!!!!
  • "They hunted their friends" — okay, so not only do more people die in the wilderness, but more people are literally HUNTED for meals.
  • Poor Coach Scott...are they gonna hunt HIM?!
  • It seems like we're dealing with the girls v. Natalie situation.
  • Who would want the girls dead, if not someone who was out there in the wilderness with them and knew their secrets?
  • Misty is clearly going fully Misty this season.
  • "The only people that know about this are either us, or dead," furthers my thought that there's someone out there from the wilderness they forgot about, missed, etc.
  • "The only way to be safe is to be the only one left."
  • Jackie sighting!!!! Is it Ghost Jackie, or a flashback?
  • Lots and lots and lots of fighting this season...
  • No, seriously, who is Hilary Swank?!
  • Adult Taissa and Van kiss! Yay!
  • I wonder if this is a Lost"we have to go back" kind of situation...
  • "Secrets will be spilled," okay but can you spill them now?!
It's been almost two years since the second season of Yellowjackets came out, so needless to say I need these episodes to drop ASAP!
You can watch Yellowjackets season 3 starting February 14, 2025. Happy Valentine's Day?

When I opened my Instagram feed and saw a picture of Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal together again, my first reaction was "AH!" — especially since they're sitting on a couch, just like they do at the end of When Harry Met Sally. Not to mention the fact Billy's wearing a pullover very similar to his iconic cable knit sweater in the rom-com. The duo announced they're reuniting for a special surprise and we finally know what that surprise is: a 2025 Super Bowl commercial.

Here's everything we know about Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal's When Harry Met Sally Super Bowl commercial.

Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal recreate 'When Harry Met Sally's most iconic scene.

For Hellmann's mayonnaise's 2025, Super Bowl ad Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal headed back to Katz's Deli in New York City, where they filmed When Harry Met Sally's "I'll have what she's having" scene. You know, when Sally pretends to have an orgasm while eating her sandwich, proving to Harry that women really do know how to fake it.

Well, when Meg admits her sandwich "isn't doing it," a squeeze of Hellman's mayo fixes everything — and gets Meg to reenact the iconic movie moment. A surprise appearance from Sydney Sweeney, who tells the waiter she'll have what Meg's having, is the perfect way to end the ad!

Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal made a joint Instagram post on January 22 teasing a big surprise. "It’s finally happening, we’re reuniting for something iconic," Meg says in the caption. "Can’t wait to show you all soon 💙."

My favorite thing about the post (aside from the surprise, obviously) is the fact that Meg and Billy are in outfits their When Harry Met Sally characters would totally approve of. Meg's blazer and button down and Billy's white cable knit sweater? Say no more!

"I bet it’s a Super Bowl ad ❤️," one user comments, while another agrees, "I need a sequel (but I’m thinking it’s a Super Bowl commercial?)."

Although a third comment totally summarizes how I'm feeling: "IT’S HAPPENING OH MY GOD EVERYONE REMAIN CALM."

Bleecker Street

The last time we saw Meg Ryan onscreen, it was for her latest rom-com What Happens Later. The movie follows two exes who spend a night of adventure together when they're stranded at an airport.

“It’s a different story than when you’re in your 20s,” Meg told Glamour. “I wanted to make something beautiful and offer a new way of thinking about what love is.”

And this new movie connects to her other films, like When Harry Met Sally, because “whatever was happening, they were destined to find one another," she continues. "There’s a comfort in the kismet and the idea of an inevitable connection. It’s a wonderland idea. It’s an enchanted idea.”

The Super Bowl ad comes a month after Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson's 'Gilmore Girls' reunion.

And old school media lovers are living large because this isn't the only reunion we've gotten lately! At the beginning of December, Gilmore Girls fans were in for a treat when Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson reunited as Luke and Lorelai for a Walmart commercial (alongside Sean Gunn as Kirk, naturally).

The commercial features Luke and Lorelai standing in Luke's diner talking all things "coffee coffee coffee," with Luke in his signature flannel and Lor wearing a sherpa jacket she'd be all over in 2025.

It all started when Lauren Graham teased the collab on Instagram, saying she had "something brewing." And Scott's post that he was "back at #LukesDiner for something really special," fans picked up on it. "KING LUKE WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?!?" one user commented. "I’m ready for whatever this is ☕️ 😍," a second added.
