Everything We Know About Taylor Swift + Calvin Harris’ Potential Breakup

T. Swift has had many a boyfriend during her time in the spotlight, but we really thought her relationship with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris was going to stick. Since the two became an item 15 months ago, they’ve been pretty much inseparable. She gave him a shout-out in her iHeartRadio acceptance speech. She gushed over him at Coachella. He even spent Christmas with her family building snowmen.

But it’s possible that’s all come to a close. According to a report by People, the two have officially split. “There was no drama. Things just don’t work out sometimes,” and insider reports to the tabloid.

This news definitely comes as a bit of a shock considering a few factors. First, the two just went on an epic tropical vacay and kind of seemed to have the best time ever. Second, Calvin just got into a pretty bad car accident and apparently T. Swift immediately rushed to his side. Could this all just be a cruel rumor? Is love dead? TBD.

We’ll leave you with this final thought writer Bobby Finger has regarding the potential split (prereq: this 73 questions video she did with Vogue)

When you wake up and get dressed in the morning, the last thing you want to do is make yourself look older. Yet, certain colors have a way of adding years to our appearance without us even realizing it.

While some shades can enhance natural beauty and give you a vibrant glow, others might just make you appear more mature.

Here are the colors that may be aging you so you can steer clear (and have an excuse to give your closet a refresh).

Scroll to find out which colors are actually making you look much older!

1. Neutral Beige

Askar Abayev

Open up TikTok, and you'll find that neutral colors, especially beige, are totally "in" among younger generations. From camel wool coats to tan accessories, these warm hues are considered classic and refined.

However, they also have the potential to make you look older than you are. Shades like beige can wash out your complexion, giving you a flat or lifeless appearance.

To avoid getting bogged down by your own clothing, try mixing beige with bolder and richer tones, like navy or deep jewel shades.

2. Too Much Gray & Black

RF._.studio

We all know that black is generally considered the most flattering clothing color. Its darkness helps smooth out our silhouettes and hide imperfections that lighter colors, like white, would immediately call attention to.

But even though both black and gray are extremely versatile and easy to mix and match, wearing too many dark hues can create harsh contrasts and cast sharp shadows on your face that inadvertently highlight fine lines and wrinkles.

The key is to soften your outfits whenever you can by incorporating warmer tones. If you're wearing a black or gray blouse, for instance, layer a brighter cardigan or blazer on top.

Also, the type of black hue you choose does matter. Those with fairer skin tones should opt for a softer charcoal black, which results in a less jarring contrast.

3. Soft Pastels

SHVETS production

Now that we're rounding the corner on spring, you may have plenty of pastel garments in your closet just waiting to be worn. Unfortunately, you might want to think again.

Even though pastels give off a fresh aesthetic, they're not always the best choice if you're going for a youthful look. The lighter tones can emphasize eye changes as you get older– such as pigmentation of the eyelids and a duller appearance of the sclera or the white part of your eye– and make your eyes appear sunken.

That's why it's advised that you stick with slightly deeper or richer tones to complement your complexion.

4. Monochromatic Outfits

Polina Tankilevitch

Finally, monochromatic outfits are also back in style, but wearing the same color from head to toe might make you look more mature.

The key to appearing youthful is being thoughtful about contrast. You can still look sleek while mixing in different shades. Pairing a cream sweater with deeper tones, like a mocha skirt or boots, will add a lot more depth.

And if you ever feel like your outfits are falling flat, remember that accessories are your best friend. A bold scarf, baseball cap, fun purse, or statement necklace will instantly help your look feel more dynamic and lively.

1923 is back! After two years of wondering how Alex and Spencer would find each other after their separation, if Jacob and Cara would survive the attempt to steal their ranch, and if Teonna would make it to safety, the 1923 season 2 premiere is answering some of our biggest questions. Although actress Michelle Randolph told me we might have to wait until the end of the season to see whether the show "fills in some blanks" in the Dutton family tree, we're already getting plenty of info.

Here's everything you missed in the 1923 season 2 premiere, "The Killing Season."

In the '1923' season 2 premiere, Jacob & Cara Dutton are protecting their ranch.

Right at the beginning of the episode, we get a beautiful look at Montana and the Yellowstone ranch, with Cara Dutton revealing via narration they've sold everything except 4 bulls and 100 heifers to pay off some of the money they owe Whitfield — and that it's up to Spencer to rebuild everything they've lost.

Jacob and Jack leave the ranch for a hearing — and come face-to-face with a mountain lion on the porch. However, the lion races off before Jacob can kill it, and after Cara jokes it's comforting Jacob now has something to worry about, Jacob tells her he's "always worried, honey" and gives her a kiss. I am simply obsessed with them!! (I also need them both to make it to the end of the series, I'm so serious).

The mountain lion doesn't last for long, however, after it returns, almost attacks Elizabeth, and gets shot by Cara.

In town, Jacob (and us) learn Zane and Alice's marriage has been rendered void after they were attacked & arrested for miscegenation last season — and that Whitfield is behind everything...to literally no one's surprise.

Whitfield's still thinking about the Duttons himself, talking about how Jacob might be strong and mighty like a bear, but enough bee stings can lead to the bear's death ("Death by a Thousand Cuts" anyone?). He finds reassurance in the knowledge the trial is another metaphorical bee sting for Jacob Dutton to, well, bear.

Banner Creighton's also preparing for the trial, and tells his wife that after a lifetime of struggle, Whitfield's new provision means their son has a future. "I'll lay with the devil to give him that," he says. Chills me to my very core.

Teonna Rainwater is still on the run.

Father Renaud and his men are still on the hunt for Teonna. Unfortunately I do mean that very literally because they attack a Comanche village in their pursuit, but Teonna, thank goodness, is safe with her father and Pete, the latter of whom she finally starts a romantic relationship with.

But right when they're starting to get ~cozy~ (if you catch my drift), they notice a horseback rider — and learn from him that they're in Texas (don't worry, the horseback rider isn't Father Renaud).

And Spencer & Alex are fighting to get back to each other.

Spencer's latest sea voyage is a lot less relaxing than we saw at the end of season 1; he's working in the bottom of a ship, where he becomes friends with Luca after defending the younger man from a rapist and saving him from jumping into the ocean. And, okay, we're only one episode in and they've already formed a really sweet bond that I hope continues through the whole season — maybe Luca can come back to the ranch!

Our favorite Dutton hero now has two missions: get back to his family and find Alex. So, to get some money and get it quick, Spencer starts a couple of one-on-one fights while Luca collects bets. Of course, Spencer wins. (Duh).

Meanwhile, back in England, Alex is still mourning her separation from Spencer. And when Jennifer visits her, Alex reveals she's desperate to get to Montana is because she's actually pregnant with Spencer's child. WHAT! I need 5-7 business days to process this information! Who knows, maybe Alex and Spencer are ancestors of John Dutton? (Beth definitely shares Alex and Spencer's grit and spunk, hello). Alex ropes Jennifer into selling her jewelry to book passage to America...even if that passage ends up being in the thieves and beggars class.

Whew! I can't wait to tune in next week to see what the future has in store for the Duttons.

Millennials have often been called the "me" generation since they tend to be independent and career-driven. They're simply navigating life in a completely different era than generations before. Nonetheless, some of their everyday habits may unintentionally leave their parents feeling unappreciated, overlooked, or even guilty.

From moving far away from home to prioritizing friendships over family, here are eight common millennial behaviors that can sometimes sting the generation that raised you.

Scroll to see which things millennial do that their boomer parents just don't get...

1. Lack Of Visits

Ron Lach

We all know that life moves at lightning speed nowadays. Between romantic relationships, work, and starting a family, it's easy to let weeks or months fly by without visiting home.

Past generations viewed visits as a cornerstone of family life. Phone calls can suffice, but nothing really compares to seeing your relatives face-to-face.

Even though it can be tough to prioritize visits against your busy schedule, remember that showing up for your parents means a lot, even if it's just a weekly or monthly Sunday dinner.

2. Moving Away

Ketut Subiyanto

Moving out is one of the biggest milestones that all young adults look forward to. However, moving out is one thing, and moving away to a brand-new city or state is another.

It can be extremely tough for parents to cope with the sudden distance. They may feel more disconnected from your life than ever before and suffer a sense of loss.

That's why it's important to stay in touch with updates and make your parents feel involved in your journey. Call more, send photos, and even have a weekly video chat. Your bond can stay just as strong with the help of today's technology as long as you hold up your end of the bargain.

3. Prioritizing Your Career

Vlada Karpovich

Millennials (and now Gen Zers) have been taught to hustle. In the wake of a more competitive job market than ever, professionals have to chase career advancement to stay relevant.

Unfortunately, though, the drive to succeed can sometimes come at the cost of family time. This is a tough pill to swallow for many parents, who might've been raised with the belief that family gatherings are non-negotiable.

Plus, if you frequently miss get-togethers or one-on-one visits in favor of your work, your parents may feel unimportant and disappointed in your choices.

We'd be lying if we said that striking a balance between career and family is easy. Nonetheless, the first step is acknowledging your parents' feelings and working to carve out space for them, whether that's meeting up for lunch or squeezing in an after-work phone call.

4. Only Calling When You Need Something

Ketut Subiyanto

Speaking of calling home, it's natural to turn to your parents for advice. After all, they've been there for you in the past and will always be your parents.

Yet, if they only hear from you when you need something, that's not fair. Your parents might start to think they're just your safety net as opposed to a priority.

Transactional communication will only make your parents feel as if your love for them is conditional. So, try to reach out for other reasons, like sharing good news or simply checking in on how they're doing.

5. Ignoring Family Traditions

cottonbro studio

Family traditions are more than just routines. They foster connection and continuity across generations, creating experiences and stories that you and all of your relatives can share.

If you opt out of these traditions, it may seem like you're stepping away from the memories and history that your parents worked hard to create.

I get it: we all have a certain holiday tradition that maybe drives us nuts. Still, as frustrating as it might be, it's sometimes best to just go along with it. Your parents, sadly, won't be here forever, and you may look back on the tradition fondly once it officially comes to an end.

6. Putting Friends Over Family

KoolShooters

When you truly bond with a great friend group, they can become like your chosen family. Even so, consistently choosing to spend time with your friends over your parents can be really hurtful for them, especially if it becomes a noticeable pattern.

You may inadvertently send the message that your parents aren't a priority but rather something you fit into your schedule when it's convenient. Keep this in mind and try to show up for them, even in small ways.

7. Not Being Financially Independent

Kaboompics.com

Everyone has the goal of becoming financially independent. Regardless, many people find themselves still relying on their parents for help, and it can create a sense of guilt or frustration that goes unspoken.

Each time you ask for financial assistance, your parents might be reminded of their own challenges and the sacrifices they've made to support you.

Your parents want to see you succeed and become self-sufficient, not because they want to quit lending you a hand, but because they hope you can stand on your own two feet.

In today's economy, it's understandable why so many adults are struggling, so have open conversations about finances with your parents and make it known that you're grateful for their help.

8. Sharing So Much On Social Media

Finally, do you chronicle your every move and achievement on social media? After sharing all your milestones online, you may forget to tell your parents about your life.

Technology can create a divide between you and your parents, especially if they aren't avid users or able to keep up with your life on their feed.

Don't forget to reach out and update them on your relationship status, career changes, travel plans, and any other major developments before you tell your followers. It'll help your parents feel much more involved.
